How long does it usually take to burn a movie (approx 700mb - 1GB lasting roughly 2hours) on a new macbook pro 13" ? My friend has an macbook alu and she said it took her 6 hours to burn a movie. We have a hunk a junk PC with a DVD burner and took 2 hours to burn a DVD. Anyway I can speed things up?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to burn a video from my Canon camcorder using iDVD and it keeps telling me that nothing is being captured. It seems like it should be such an easy process, but it is not working for me. I have imported the video to iMovie but cannot figure out how to burn a dvd from that application either.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I updated my MacBook Air software from 10.6.8 to Maverick I lost all my videos in the process. Where did they go and how do I get them back? Did they all end up in various events folders in iphoto? They used to also be separate from the photos in the video folder on the harddrive but are no longer there.

Problem is pretty much summarized in the topic line. Had a distnoted process that was eating up all my CPU. Killed it in Activity Monitor, and the computer hung. Forced a restart, and it won't...restart. Tried a safe reboot, resetting the NRAM...no joy. Â

I need to burn a goodly number of files on OS X using a Blu-ray writer. Unfortunately when I write a large number of files with Toast Titanium the app crashes consistently. Are there really any other options for such software aside from Toast for OS X when it comes to Blu-ray?

I have a Mac Pro with several raid array and single drives attached (1x Wiebetech RTX600 Raid 5 through SCSI; 1x CalDigit HDElement Raid 5 through miniSAS; 4x internal drives).Unfortunately, due to various reasons (electricity outtage and software crashes), I'm experiencing system crashes and need to hard re-start the system. Upon restart, I am able to boot back into Mac OS X, but sometimes one, or both of the raid arrays will not mount. However, after a period of 0.5 - 2 hours, the array would magically re-appear again. Sometimes this might even happen to internal drives that I had mounted inside the chassis of the Mac Pro.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if anyone knows of a good osx based alternative to Process Explorer on windows - what I'd like to be able to do is graph CPU and memory for a specific process and ideally see what network connections a specific process has open. atMonitor seems to do this pretty well generally, but not for specific processes (this is for monitoring a multiplayer flash game).
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i start and work with Logic Pro, it freezes after a while and there is no other way, but to force shutdown.I searched for some crash reports but i couldn't find one so i made screenshots of the terminal..I read on the internet some people had the same problem but with other programs, so i'm pretty sure that "Logic Pro caught burning CPU" is the problem. I got this problem since Mavericks 10.9.3, didn't have this with Snow Lion.Â
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have been using Titanium to burn DVD's. It usually takes about the length of the actually DVD to finish the burning process. Is this normal length or is there a faster program for burning DVD
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere is a process, "PocketCloudService" that I cannot finish even from terminal (kill PID), the response is "Operation not permitted". I did the same of killing proceses from terminal and it worked, but it doesn't with this process. It belonged to a program that I unistalled, "Pocket Cloud". I reinstalled that program and unistalled again, but the process continues running, even if I restart the mac. It's annoying because sometimes it spends about 80% CPU, warming my mac (and my patience!), therefore I finish the process "PocketCloudService" from Activity Monitor, but it restarts few seconds after. I just want to delete or block the source that launches that process and not have to stop it manually anymore. From activity monitor when I check the process, the main process is "launchd (1)", user: root (0)

I have 2010 mbp 13inch 2.6ghz 4gigs ram intel core i5. I've only had it for five days and recently experienced a complete freeze. trackpad and power button unresponsive, display and apple icon on back of lid did not turn off or change in any way when lid was closed/opened. only app running was google chrome.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer has started freezing repeatedly. Seems to occur on random software programs - nothing obvious. Cannot even move the pointer. I can only shut down from the power button. I do not have start up discs with me (out of the country and no where near an apple store). I desperately need my computer to work!! Does anyone have any ideas of what I can try. HD test says it's ok. Tried SMC restart and that didn't help. Computer is not running hot either.

Yesterday my wife got conned by a scammer who logged into her 2012 Air and started hacking away. We have no idea how much data he got or how much spyware he planted. She shut down the machine shortly after he got into it, but now we're in limbo. I want to totally wipe the SSD (I've been strongly advised to do so) and restore it from a backup drive (we use Super Duper for backup, as well as Crash Plan). Any special tricks to doing a total wipe of the data?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIve just started to download a data analysis program on my Mac, but have since changed my mind and no longer want the program on my Mac .
I have paused it, but it was about 3 minutes into a 10 minute download.Â
Does this mean that I have stopped the download and there will be no change to my computer?
Also, do I need to remove it?

I am running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, and I just ordered The Sims: Complete Collection for Mac, and I know it's an extremely old game so I'm just nervous it won't run. I know Lion will not play it, so I'm not going to update to it, but will Snow Leopard?

I reviewed the guide about saving your media on a external drive and accessing it via the Internet and successfully set that up. I have about 700 GBs of space available on that all setup through my AEBS. Would it be possible to store my media (music/movies) on that and stream them from there when I am remotely (i.e. at work, starbucks, etc...). What sort of delays would I be seeing in the streaming process? My connection at home is roughly 7 down and 1.5 upload.

For the past few days my macbook pro (lion 10.7.3) has been overheating and the fan has been going crazy. In my processes, there is one called "report crash" that is consistently using between 50% and 180% of the CPU. I force quit it, but it just comes back straight away. I looked into my logs to see what is causing it and there seems to be a continual launch/crash cycle related to com.apple.midiserver, whatever that is. Does anyone have a clue why the midiserver is fighting to be launched ad infinitum and causing my mac to go berserk?

I have a dual-core MBP, and when i try to run programs like mail, word, and firefox at the same time, the Intercheck process decides to take a lot of my CPU. Whenever this happens, i have to restart my computer, and if i don't, it will eventually freeze.Â

Every time it shows in the end of process that update is failed. The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs. I have MacBook Pro 13 inches with Mac OS 01.7.2.
