View 2 RepliesI movie is frozen and i dont know how to unfreeze
View 2 Replieshave been making movies with imovie for the past few years. Today I imported from my camera, could see the clips moving in imovie when being transported, but when I tried to edit the clips, all I could get was a screen frozen with a picture, no movement, but could hear the sound. Then when I tried to open an already saved imovie (that had already been burned to iDVD successfully), the same thing happened.
rented a movie and paid for it, cost was deducted but no record of purchasing movie anywhere

View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I am here at work, and have spent the last 4-5 hours trying to resolve this issue, and cannot find any working solutions for it on the internet. We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Â Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...Â
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.Â
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.

I quit iTunes and my rental movie disappeared after watching half of the movie. The rental sidebar disappeared as well. What do I do to retrieve my movie?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Snow Leopard installed with the latest Quicktime.
When viewing a movie file in my browser in Leopard, I was able to right click on it and save a copy to my desktop/computer. Now, I can't seem to enable this option...I have no way of saving a movie to my computer. Am I missing something? How does one do this now, do I need to click on a specific spot?
My Mac won't automatically play an mp4. It comes up with an error message saying "This movie could not be opened. This is not a movie file:. What am I missing? I understand it should just automatically play...

My battery seems to have lost the plot. I can turn my machine on when running off the battery and it fires up as normal. Once it gets to my desktop everything is frozen. The arrow is always stuck in the top left corner and the only thing that works is the power button, but I can't even turn it off because I can't select switch off.
It works fine if I take the battery out and run off the adaptor but kinda defeats the purpose of having a laptop.
I have a 15" 2.53 GhZ Macbook pro with 4 GB Ram. I am using Onyx for cleaning disk permissions as well as flushing the cache and other maintenance because I heard great things about it. The most recent time that I used it I Restarted my macbook and the mouse was frozen and I couldn't move it, even after like 5 minutes. So I did a hard restart and everything started up just fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy macbook pro froze while trying to update today so i did a force shutdown of my mac (help power button down for 10 seconds) when i went to turn on my mac and log in it brought me to the screen with the mac icon in the center and the spinning icon under it and it sits there trying to load but nothing happens. i would simply just do a reinstall of the system but i do not have the install cd's.

I am not a computer technician. However, I believe my computer has a virus. It has some sychadelic pattern that is present when I start it up and will not let me access anything. This is the first time in six years that this has happened. If I can "dump" everything and then start from scratch, that would be OK. I just want my laptop to work again-I need it for school.

I have a MacBook Pro, running Lion. My laptop seems to have slowed down in terms of opening programs, and often, Finder will get stuck with the spinning ball. I also have an external hard drive attached to the laptop, and accessing the external often brings up the spinning ball.Â
The external drive has a capacity of 299.72 GBÂ Â Â Â and 191.97 GBÂ Â Â Â is how much is free.Â
For the laptop, the numbers are 249.07 GB capacity and 184.34 GB free. I regularly run the Disk Utility to check/repair permissions. Is there any way to determine why things are running slow, and/or if I need a new external drive?Â

I just got my macbook pro in march. Yesterday, the screen began to occasionally freeze (but other things like audio would continue to play) and slowly get brighter and brighter until it either turned completely white with a few small black stripes, or revert back to the regular screen and function normally. It has been happening more and more frequently recently.

My Macbook is frozen in the sleep mode and I can't get to come out. Is there a way do get it out of this mode?

My MacBook has Recently completely frozen, I couldn't even turn it off. I then removed the battery and when I put it back in it was completely dead. I've been told that this is not down to the hard drive. I live 3 hours away from my nearest apple store.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2006 MBP (that may or may not be the problem) that freezes when I do anything. It happened sort of gradually. First, I was just getting the spinny rainbow when I had too many windows open or something. Then, it started just happening just because, sometimes only a couple minutes after my last restart. Now, I can't even open certain programs with it crashing right away (Safari, iTunes, iChat, Software Update.)
Safari doesn't even really open, it bounces in the dock then just sits there without being highlighted, but makes my computer absolutely unresponsive. I am able to use firefox (which I'm using right now, this is my only computer), but it won't be before long that I see the spiny rainbow again.
Stuff I've done so far that hasn't worked: Reformatted
Took to 'genius bar' who could only tell me that I may need a new HD

Just recently, maybe for a week or two, after closing the lid on my MBP15, and long enough for it to go to sleep (set for 15 min), when I open the lid it is completely frozen. I can see the display on whereever I left it, but I can't do anything, no keys respond. Even the Caps Lock key light won't go on and off when pressed. So, I have to power off and on.
I thought perhaps it had something to do with the Firefox/Flash problem that causes huge CPU usage, but I uninstalled the Flash plugin in FF which seems to have fixed it. But the computer freezes up even with FF not running.
Yesterday, I was prompted to instal a software update, which I did. Everything seemed fine and I closed (did not turn off) my macbook. Today, when I opened my laptop, everything was frozen. I force quit. Turning my laptop back on, I get a gray screen with a blinking floder with a question mark. When I try to follow the instructions from the Apple support page for this issue, it doesn't work - it seems like there are no startup disks on my computer at all. I have a month's worth of data I can't lose. I'm not sure what operating system I have (I realize I sound completely incompetent). I bought my laptop at the end of December 2011; it's OS X Lion, but beyond that, I'm not sure).
