I just set up icloud on my mac and now my mail won't recognize my password. Formerly, on mobileme i had the main computer which was pre-intel so now I'm switching to my intel mac. Everything is fine on cloud, all the data is there, but on my computers (intel computer and also pre-intel) when I try to check my mail it keeps saying that it doesn't recognize the password. I get mail fine on my iphone, and when I log into icloud but not on my computers (pre-intel or intel).

I followed the steps outlined in [URL]to move my Snow Leopard's MobileMe mail account to an iCloud account in the Mail app (deleted the old MobileMe account from the sidebar and followed the steps to create a new one for [URL]. Before doing that, I had gone online and changed my very old AppleID's password so that it conformed to the new requirements. I also set up the MobileMe in System Preferences to be using that new password. It seems to be happy with the new setup/password. Â

To explain the situation a bit better and what I've tried already, here a short discription of the situation:Â
- I do have a appleID that is called firstname.lastname@gmail.com the related password is appleID_Password1.
with this combination I also conduct my purchases in iTunes and the AppStore. But to rule this possibility already out: It doesn't let me access my iCloud eMail account in Apple Mail. Funny enough, though, when visiting iCloud.com this is the combination with which I log onto iCloud incl it's mail service within the web browser.Â
- the iCloud eMail address for whose password I am looking is called something like abcde@me.com. I have implemented it into my Apple Mail program running on Mac OS X Lion. Since setting up the account i've never ever been asked to enter my password. But now, out of a sudden, I was. And, of course, I couldn't remember it anymore. Hence, I don't receive any eMails sent to abcde@me.com anymore on my mac.Â
Can somebody tell me how to fix it, if it is not the password for my appleID??

I'm unable to log into my iCloud console on my mac (OSX Lion 10.7.4) - its giving error: 'unrecognized apple ID or password' and You can't sign in at this time'. Incredibly though, I can log into my iPhone, the iCloud's website and iTunes as well, using the same apple ID. I would like to keep my Mac, iPhone and iPad in sync with the iCloud system.

I have created a number of Apple i/d's that now seem make my records confused. I'm often forced to reset passwords; like today: I tried to log in to use my icloud email address and had to reset the password - again even though I had used for my apple ID minutes before!!. If I want to sign in to this message board, I can do so. I can also sign in on my iPad to download updates, purchase new apps and songs, etc. And I can sync my iPad to iTunes on my iMac. But when I open iTunes on my iMac, it asks for my password and I can't sign in. What is causing this problem with iTunes on my iMac repeatedly asking for my password when I open iTunes?Â

my GF and a glass of Wine. Cat hits wine and wine hits MBP. The Mac shut off instantly, we acted pretty quick and mopped up and turned upside down. I then took back off and over the course of the next 5 days I have stripped it down completely including the Key board and cleaned as best as I could. I've put it all back together and it starts up, a reassuring tone rings out, then apple sign appears with a loading bar beneath, this takes a while then it reaches the Lion log in page.It still recognizes me, or rather my name as the user but refuses my password which I know is correct.The keyboard isn't backlit but keys are typing something (can't see characters, just dots). Screen brightness works.No back light on keys although this may be normal at this point, not sure.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatediBook is 800mhz, 512m with a 20g hd. The iBook boots to the login screen but won't accept the password. I have even tried older passwords just in case. I tried holding down the c while booting from the cd; sounds like the cdrom spins but again it boots to the login screen. I tried holding the Apple & S key to get to single user but it goes to the login screen. I tried holding the option key which brings up the start-up drives, but can't change to the fire wire drive because the password is unaccepted.
