Just Set Up Icloud And Now Mail Won't Recognize Password
I just set up icloud on my mac and now my mail won't recognize my password. Formerly, on mobileme i had the main computer which was pre-intel so now I'm switching to my intel mac. Everything is fine on cloud, all the data is there, but on my computers (intel computer and also pre-intel) when I try to check my mail it keeps saying that it doesn't recognize the password. I get mail fine on my iphone, and when I log into icloud but not on my computers (pre-intel or intel).

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Followed Steps But Mail Does Not Recognize ICloud Password
I followed the steps outlined in [URL]to move my Snow Leopard's MobileMe mail account to an iCloud account in the Mail app (deleted the old MobileMe account from the sidebar and followed the steps to create a new one for [URL]. Before doing that, I had gone online and changed my very old AppleID's password so that it conformed to the new requirements.  I also set up the MobileMe in System Preferences to be using that new password.  It seems to be happy with the new setup/password.

I can get my iCloud mail on my iPad and on my MBAir when I use Safari.  But the Mail app continues to loop, asking me to enter my password -- and then informing me that "The MobileMe IMAP server "imap.mail.me.com" rejected the password for user [URL]I compared my Mail settings for the new iCloud account to what's given in the instructions and cannot spot anything amiss.

Returned from vacation to a message that I need a stronger password for my Apple ID than the one I've used for years. I created a new password, which was fine for 4 days, but now iCloud again says my password is wrong. It's not. Apple has forgotten it, and I've had to create yet another one.

ICloud :: Forgot Password For Account In Apple Mail?
I don't know why but a recently I've been asked to enter my icloud password related to my iCloud e-Mail address. stupidly, I've forgot what my password is. is there a chance to reset it somehow?

To explain the situation a bit better and what I've tried already, here a short discription of the situation:

- I do have a appleID that is called firstname.lastname@gmail.com the related password is appleID_Password1.

with this combination I also conduct my purchases in iTunes and the AppStore. But to rule this possibility already out: It doesn't let me access my iCloud eMail account in Apple Mail. Funny enough, though, when visiting iCloud.com this is the combination with which I log onto iCloud incl it's mail service within the web browser.

- the iCloud eMail address for whose password I am looking is called something like abcde@me.com. I have implemented it into my Apple Mail program running on Mac OS X Lion. Since setting up the account i've never ever been asked to enter my password. But now, out of a sudden, I was. And, of course, I couldn't remember it anymore. Hence, I don't receive any eMails sent to abcde@me.com anymore on my mac.

Can somebody tell me how to fix it, if it is not the password for my appleID??

ITunes :: Does Not Recognize Password On IMac?
If I want to sign in to this message board, I can do so.  I can also sign in on my iPad to download updates, purchase new apps and songs, etc.  And I can sync my iPad to iTunes on my iMac. But when I open iTunes on my iMac, it asks for my password and I can't sign in.  What is causing this problem with iTunes on my iMac repeatedly asking for my password when I open iTunes?

This is very frustrating.  I am also worried that I won't be able to sync when my new iPad arrives March 16.

OS X Leopard :: Mail Doesn't Recognize Password?
I am using Mail 3.6 on Leopard Safari 5.0. Beginning yesterday (7/22), when I wake up my computer, I get a message that Mail doesn't recognize my password and asks me to enter it or cancel. It has always come on automatically without needing to sign in each time. My accounts are accurate and have not changed in the 4 years I've been using this computer. I am the only user of this computer. I use AOL mail with a main account and two sub accounts. It's the main account that I'm having a problem with. The subs are okay. I get a little circle with an upside down Z in it next to the account in question. This morning after I signed in, it worked for about 5 minutes, then the message box came back with the same message.

Yesterday, after checking my account info and signing back in, I got a message that Mail had been turned off. It gave me the choice of staying offline, or turning the accounts back on. I don't know why or how I got that box or how to retrieve it again. I'm sure I didn't turn off the accounts, either yesterday or today.

OS X Leopard :: Wont Recognize Password During Log On Attempt?
I set up my free iChat account last week (with a .mac extension). When I tried to log on today, it wouldn't recognize my password. Following the "forgot password" link resets my Apple ID password, not my iChat password; neither my original iChat password nor the reset Apple ID password works. I deleted and tried to add the account back; it autocompleted the password for me, but then tells me that the MobileMe password is incorrect (when it's a mac.com address). I followed the "get iChat Account" link, tried to create a new iChat account. It won't let me create a new account tied to my email address. Is there any way to reset my password (for real) or to get iChat to recognize my password?

MacBook Pro :: It Doesn't Recognize Password
my GF and a glass of Wine. Cat hits wine and wine hits MBP. The Mac shut off instantly, we acted pretty quick and mopped up and turned upside down. I then took back off and over the course of the next 5 days I have stripped it down completely including the Key board and cleaned as best as I could. I've put it all back together and it starts up, a reassuring tone rings out, then apple sign appears with a loading bar beneath, this takes a while then it reaches the Lion log in page.It still recognizes me, or rather my name as the user but refuses my password which I know is correct. The keyboard isn't backlit but keys are typing something (can't see characters, just dots). Screen brightness works. No back light on keys although this may be normal at this point, not sure.
