MacBook Pro :: Macbook Pro Vista, Sound Skipping Like CD When Listening To Music?
Aug 17, 2009
I just got my motherboard on my MBP because I had the black screen problem due to the graphics card. Now I have problems w/ my sound.
It keeps skipping after once in awhile for some reason. I installed the latest Realtek sound drivers. This happened with the original driver too.
It plays music fine but every minute, it skips like a bad CD player.
What's going on here?
iTunes skips songs when I try to listen to a shared library from my Mac Pro, on my MacBook Pro.
This always happens when trying to "fast-forward" through a song (it'll skip to the next song).
I'm assuming that this is some kind of networking issue, because if I let the song play long enough, for what I perceive as enough time to transfer the song entirely from one computer to the other, it won't skip to the next song when fast-forwarding.
The two computers are in adjacent rooms, connected wirelessly via an AEBS on 802.11N (g compatibility mode).
i'm gettin' concerned about my mbp temp. is this normal? i' only using safari with 4 tabs and listening music over the web ! what's the mbp threshold temp?
When I turned on my MacBook and tried to listen to some music, the volume didn't come on. I've tried everything, but the sound just wont work. The volume-icon in the top right corner is grey (not black as it should have been) and when I use the button to turn the volume up, it's a new icon that pops up on the screen...
i got this MBP about a week ago, and its awesome. except 2 days into having it i noticed that sometimes i will be on the internet, listening to music, and all the sudden the webpage will kind of freeze, than the little color wheel will pop up on the cursor and i cant do anything for about 30 seconds, and the music will stop playing too and than after 30 seconds everything resumes and works fine... this happens about 4 - 5 times aday.. anything i can do ? or should i take it to the apple store? MacBook Pro, 17 Inch, 2.8 GHz intel Core 2 Duo , 4GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 running Leopard 10.5.7
My newest discovery is that when my computer freezes up what ever sound is playing makes a skipping noise and then I have to kill power to shut off what is the cause or how can I find out is there any log I can run or check to see the last action process that went on?
I have a question about listening to music online with my sirius satellite radio acct. The page "SIRIUS Player - 100% Commercial-free Music" has content of MIME type "application/x-mplayer2", but you don't have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page: [URL]. Do you want to open the page? Once I have opened the page, it asks me to download it, which I have done, both actually, the "components for the quicktime" and the "wmp version 9". Neither work.
So I checked the threads on here and tried multiple ways and cant figure this out.
I have a MBP, itunes 10.1.1, and a western digital passport essential.
I loaded pictures and my old itunes library off a HP pavilion desktop.
On my Mac, when I try and open my external hard drive off the desktop and click my itunes library file I stored from my old HP it simply wont open. I right click it and click open with itunes and the file icon fades off my screen very quickly like its trying to import it but wont. I have tried dragging it and holding option when opening itunes, which actually does display the playlist but only with explanation points because the files cannot be found.
I just want to be able to plug my external in and listen to my playlist I have stored on the western digital, on my mac book without erasing my current itunes playlist on my MBP.
I've installed vista 64 on my new MBP unibody, and installed vista 64 ultimate under boot camp, got boot camp update from [URL] for 64 vista, but there are 2 problems: 1st is the overheating issue, it is extreemly hot at the front edge where the radiating holes seems are, got speedfan and remapper software, doesn't work in vista. 2nd is the sound issue, there is NO SOUND at all. anybody having the same problems? anyone knows how to solve them?
I just got my new 2009 13" MacBook Pro. I have installed Vista and loaded my Boot Camp drivers. I am trying to use the built in microphone for Skype. It appears in the Sound menu in the control panel as a working audio input and sound recorder works perfectly as well. However, whenever I select the microphone in Skype, there is no sound. The mic comes up as a Cirrus Logic CS4206A(AB75) device. Skype won't get any input from the mic. Does anyone know how to use Skype in Boot Camp with the new MacBook Pro hardware?

I've got the latest MBP 13inch with Vista installed on Bootcamp. I've turned the sound all the way up and it's still very low. I've got all the latest boot camp drivers installed, I've tried viewing different videos trying to see if the video was the culprit, but unfortunately it wasn't. I searched around and I've seen others with this issue, but haven't found a fix.
I've watched the same videos in Leopard that I did in Vista and they're a lot louder.
I recently installed Windows Vista Home Basic through BootCamp on my MacBook Pro. Everything works fine, except for the one thing that there's no sound... At the moment if i start something with sound, you'll see "the green bar jump up and down" But no sound... Tried to search for an audio driver, and installed one, (not sure which one it has to be though) But it didn't help...
Have tried uninstalling the whole lot and reinstalling it again, same thing happened, when i put in the Max OS x for the driver installation i recall it saying removing Realtek Audio or something, so search for that, but didn't help :/
I have a home network with three Macs: MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac. I have an Airport Express connected to my hifi (2007 model, 802.11g). It used to work flawlessly, but now whenever I try listening to music from my MacBook, it plays for a few seconds, then goes silent for a second or two, then continues playing. It just keeps going like that. It never used to. It doesn't do this when playing music from the iMac and Mac mini, only the Macbook Pro. I've tried resetting the Airport, and changing settings in iTunes on the MacBook, but nothing works.
I used my mac yesterday and the volume worked just fine. But today I turned it on and there was no sound at all and there is no sound when using the internet or playing music. I can mute and unmute and adjust the volume control up and down but still nothing. I went to system preferences and everything is okay with the sound. I just bought this 2 weeks ago.
Has anyone else with the Alum MacBook loaded Vista and experienced sound glitches when playing any sounds? My machine will have sound stuttering lasting 3-5 sec occuring every 2-3 min. Works fine in OS_X but never in Vista. I,m trying to decide if I need to return or exchange the machine. AppleCare is clueless on the problem other than blaming the drivers. I have reloaded Vista Home prem 32bit, BootCamp 2.0, Updated 2.1 BootCamp drivers, changed the realtek driver in Vista, updated to 1 month old realtek new driver, and lastly disabled the onboard audio and installed a new Creative external USB sound card ALL to NO Avail. I have 5 days left to return the notebook, but otherwise I love the new MacBook.

I have this problem a wile now. When I play music (or watch a movie) I can hear there is something wrong with my sound output. It's hard to describe, but is is like someone is playing with an equalizer. The high pitch sounds (voices) are constantly changing in volume. maybe the basses to, but its hard to hear that. BUT, the strange thing is, when I play something in windows (parallels) it is much better... The bass is here more dimmed for some reason.
First of all, let me give you a rundown on everything I have done: I have reset SMC. I have reset PRAM. I have disabled Java in all browsers, and I have deleted Java. I have erased disk completely, taken it to the Apple store and have OS reinstalled. I have repaired the disk. I have repaired disk permissions, and I discovered Java had a value of 80, should be 0. (This caused me to disable most Java programs.) I have verified the disk and disk permissions.
After the restore, I have only reinstalled a few programs: (Upon reaching this problem again, I deleted some programs): Opera Browser - Deleted, did not allow me to disable Java. Caffeine - Deleted, not well known. StarCraft II - By Blizzard Entertainment, too uptight to create this kind of problem. Komodo Edit - Deleted Skype LogMeInHamachi - Deleted
Files: A folder with some HTML and CSS and a few pictures - Deleted A screenshot of my computer on my desktop.
I have no music in iTunes. Nothing. For example, right now, I am listening to YouTube and typing this. A message pops up with message: Are you sure you want to shut down: Sleep Restart Cancel Shutdown (Shutdown is blue).
i recently installed a copy of windows vista basic and noticed that i couldn't get sound even after i installed all the drivers on the boot camp cd, i also tried installing the realtek drivers but that doesnt seem to have helped, when i go to the control panel it says that i have a week sound coming out of the speakers but i cant even here that.
White macbook pro that was purchased in December of 2010.I was listening to music on ITunes last night, the music stopped and the computer was making some weird noise and froze up. I held the power button to shut it down. Let it sit for a couple minutes and then powered it back on. When it powered it on, it still made the clicking noise, and displayed a blank screen that had a flashing folder with a "?" in it. That's all it did. The noise was coming from the left side of the laptop.
I need a good soundcard for my MACPRO 8core , the sound from the MACPRO sounds SUCKS and has no settings (Realtek HD - with optical output). I want to be compatible OSX as well as Vista x64.
Can be internal or external, I do not have preferences ... but i need a good sound
I installed vista on my macbook used Parallels, but my problem is the sound not active in the windows vista. Could anyone help me to activate the sound in my windows vista?
I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate using Bootcamp. It runs fine with just a couple of anomalies.
First is that the sound quality is quite poor...almost like AM radio...I've tried installing the latest Realtek drivers but it's made no difference. I've stuck it onto "Rock" preset and that has improved things slightly but I was wondering if there was a proper fix for this?
Also, even though Vista see's that I have dual processors and correctly reports them (and I get two CPU usage graphs under task manager) applications such as dBpoweramp don't see it and run in single processor mode? Aga
there i have a macbook pro and i have recently installed windows vista 32 on it using boot camp. also recently i have updated boot camp to 3.1 and my sound seems to have stopped working.
Although the red light in my headphone jack is gone my speaker icon on the right hand corner has a x on it and i cannot hear anyhting now. i have cheaked my sound driver and it is up to date cirrus logic cirrus logic cs4206a
Everything seems to be working well except there is no sound from speakers on the Vista side. Still OK on Mac (of course).
I have iMac 3.06gHz
Checked that sound is not muted etc.
It does seem to have two volume controls (Vista) in the dock? One Realtek and one Mixer. Neither are muted. Device Manager says all is ok and running latest software.
One other small matter is that I can't seem to load a network adapter. It finds new hardware everytime I open but can't find any software and as I don't know what I'm looking for I am sort of stuck.
I recently installed windows vista (home edition) via bootcamp on my macbook pro.
Everything is running perfectly apart from the sound. I think it might an issue with the computers sound card. When I plug my headphones into the audio output jack, no sound comes through... it still plays out of the speakers. The sound is audible, but just barely.
What may be causing this? Are there any specific drivers I need to install?
