MacBook Pro :: How To Wirelessly Connect To HDTV For Mirroring
Mar 23, 2012
How can I wirelessly show macbook pro content on my HDTV (i.e. mirrored from macbook to tv). I currently have it wired, but would like to do it wirelessly.
What do I need to connect from my IMAC to my Sony Bravio HDTV? Ideally wirelessly would be ideal. If that is not possible what cables/hardware do I I want to connect for both video & audio.
I can't connect wirelessly anywhere because my macbook pro is saying there is no airport card installed, so for now i have i'm getting internet through an ethernet cable.
Let me start by saying that I know very little about how computers/networks, etc work.
I've had my macbook for a couple years (I don't even know how to find out what year it was made, I'd guess 2008). It just suddenly stopped allowing me to connect to the internet wirelessly at my house. I brought it to my college campus, where I've been able to connect all semester, and I cannot connect there either. I'm receiving wireless signals in both places with my phone.
When I go to system pref - network....and highlight airport, it says it's not connected even though i have all my bars at the top right of the screen.
It says "Airport does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the Internet."
I should point out that my brother's macbook pro still works fine wirelessly in our house.
my goal is for it to be free I don't want to buy some special wire or transmitter so I hope you can help i tryed optimum limk but it doesnt support mac
I am looking for a solution to getting a larger monitor/TV from my 2011 Macbook Pro. I know the airplay software is supposed to launch this summer... but is there a standard cable I can get in the meantime? I do video production with my mac and need a larger display. $1000 is a bit steep for the apple display..so thinking a HDTV would be more versitile anyway..
I tried the Mini Display Port to HDMI and also a VGA cable. Both gave me a look at the cyclone from the desktop but I can't get it to go any further - cursor is not active on the TV.
I have macbook pro osx 10.9.4 processer 2.5 ghz intelcore i5 with memory 4gb. Im using wifi to connect to internet through a neighbors wifi i want to connect my macbook pro to a vizio smart tv so the tv will show whats on my laptop.
Have just bought a Macbook to HDTV HDMI connector cable from the Apple store in MK - plugged in to Macbook & connected other end to TV & get great playback picture but no sound!
I am looking to buy the less expensive aluminum macbook, this will be my first mac so I have some questions:
1. I will be buying Microsoft Office for mac. Will this be exactly the same as the windows version, just for mac? 2. I will need to print things, and I already have a printer for my desktop PC. Can my macbook wirelessly connect to that (if there is a way with a wire, how would you do it) 3. If I want to play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on it, will it work, or will I have to get some kind of mac version of the game?
Yesterday, I attempted to wirelessly connect to the internet and I am getting "your computer is being managed by The Gaines Family6 (that's my host computer)". I thought it was my router so I unhooked everything and started over and still the same thing.
I just bought a airport card and antenna for G5 system that i use in my basement but i cannot connect to my network upstairs . I have a apple extreme base and i know the system works because my mac mini and iphone 3g connect to it wi-fi wise. Is there another solution for the G5 that i can use. Is there a actual antenna i can buy that actually works.
I have a MacBook with 10.6.4 and trying to connect PC with Windows 7 wirelessly, computer to computer. I'm trying to go into MacBook from PC laptop to copy files. Is this possible? I tried "Creating Network..." under Airport menu on MacBook, but couldn't get it to work. Is it possible with ethernet cable? I could always burn CDs but trying to learn little bit about network and stuff.
Got my MacBook Pro today and can't connect wirelessly. Internet works fine when plugged in via LAN cable. I've noticed that whenever 'Mac friends' come round they can't connect either so it must be a Mac only problem. Obviously this wasn't really a problem but now I've converted it has become one. Router: Netgear DG834G ISP: Pipex
So I used the internet this morning no problem. I come home this evening and can't connect wirelessly with my airport. Every time I open Safari and type in an address I get this message:
IP Configuration
192..... in use by 00:1f:a......, DHCP Server 192....
My brother has wireless internet for his house which is wha I connect to.
My router is a floor away and on the other side of my house and running cables to my room is not an option. So does the Mac mini have the capability to connect wirelessly to my router?
Recently did a reinstall now I cant connect to the internet wirelessly. It worked fine before, all other computers in the house still work on the network.
Macbook (OS X 10.5) SpeedStream Wireless Modem (Bell Sympatico Provider)
- It Shows me connecting to the network fine but It wont load up any net. - My wired connection works. - I cant access my router page via browser unless I am hardwired to the modem (Should I be able to without internet access if I am actually connected to the network?)
I notice when hard wired I get settings of. IP: 192.168.2.10 Subnet: 255.255.255.0
When not Wired I get IP: 169.254.209.184 Subnet: 255.255.0.0 (I renewed DHCP lease and get the same) (I entered all the IP and Subnet manually (same as wired settings) but it still would not connect.
I also tried re-install os X, as well as resetting my modem and setting my home network back up.
Apple tells me the TC can connect to my D-Link router, and D-Link tells me that the router can be connected to, but no one seems to know how to do it. I have searched and searched to no avail.
Does anyone know how to connect the TC to the D-Link to "extend" my wireless setup?
I've read about a thousand threads and can't seem to find a solution to my problem: my computer is able to recognize my Airport network and it has the green signal next to it with the full signal strength, but when I select it, the internet doesn't work. I'm using a Macbook OSX with an Airport Extreme.
