When I plug in my TV to the new HDMI out port on the MBP +Retina, the screen turns blue (like it used to on my Mac Air), the resolution changes, but then when the sceen comes back I am at the login screen. Not only am I logged out, but all my apps that were open were crashed (not quit).

I purchased a MacBook a couple of days ago and it has been fine. However, today I've realised that the back of it at the bottom is getting really hot, even when the charger is not plugged in. I am not using powerful apps either.Sometimes it can almost be too hot to touch for more than a couple of seconds. This happens on any surface, whether it's on my wooden desk or not.
The back getting hot also heats up the rest of the Mac to some extent. does it need seeing to and if so will I be charged?

This is my first MBP. I tried to connect it to my receiver with HDMI cable, and nothing happened. When I connect it to my windows computer it works flawsley. I'm not really sure if there is something I need to do. All I did was plug it in.

I have an LG W2442 24" external monitor that is capable of a resolution of 1920x1200. It is connected to my Macbook Pro with Retina using an HDMI cable and I am running Windows 7 & using Bootcamp. The laptop only recognizes a possible choice of 1920x1080 resolution instead of 1920x1200. How do I make it output the proper resolution?

Now I'm just wondering, before I return the monitor should I try a thunderbolt to HDMI connector and connect to the HP external display that way? I've tried searching on this topic with no luck so I justhad to ask the question because I actually really do like the screen.
I'm using the macbook pro 2012 retina. The HDMI out to an external monitor works stopped working recently and only works if I'm connected when rebooting. This might have happened after a software update.

I have a Dell UP2414Q connected via HDMI to my late 2013 15" retina MBP. The built in display is off (clamshell mode).
Sometimes, the display randomly blanks and the monitor reports no signal. This occurs continuosly for a few minutes and then the display goes back to normal. Sometimes I have to plug in/plug out the monitor to make it recover. /var/log/system.log shows no logs while these blinks occur.

New to a Mac and I just received my new MBP Retina two days ago. I am having a strange issue where right after i turn on the computer it will connect and drop my wifi connection over and over again. If i turn wifi off and back on again it fixes the issue.
I have the latest updates for the MBP so not sure if this is a hardware issue or a software bug. My router is also brand new from Linksys and is working flawlessly once i do the above steps.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having a brain fart, but since I've installed 10.6, if I don't touch my mouse for 1 minute or so, the screen dims. It didn't use to do this before, and I'll be damned if I can figure out how to fix it. My cord is plugged in, and under energy settings I can't see anything related to this...how do I fix this? Is it acting as though I am running off of battery power, and dimming after a minute. I even changed the settings to NOT dim, even on battery power.On another topic, this update actually cost Apple money, because I was planning on buying a new MacBook Pro, but I zeroed out the hard drive and did a clean install, and my old Mac is so fast now, it is as if I DO have a new MacBook!
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter I logged out of my account, I logged back in to see nothing on my desktop except for "Macintosh HD." I click on it and noticed that my home folder is mounted as a disk image under "Places." By "home folder" I meant the folder found at MacintoshHDusers ame-of-folder. I did not shutdown and login again, I logged out back to the main login screen, then logged in again under the same account. Shutting down the computer before logging in to the same account prevents this from happening, but logging out then logging back in causes it to happen.

From my own experience as a developer when using regular sized images and resolutions on the iPhone 4, they come out as blurry. I am trying to figure out what is best to do, keep the AC plugged in or have it un-plugged and only plug it in when the battery is drained (or less then 50%)? I have tried different experiments, plugged in, not-plugged and time is about the same for life of the battery. The true question is, how is is best to do it for the health of the battery.
I had decided to get a retina MacBook Pro earlier, but I have grown tired of never finding them in the stores. Now I am wondering if the non retina would be the best way to go.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the past 2 weeks, my Macbook Pro has been acting very strange. For full disclosure, I am running 10.6.8 on a 2008 MacBook Pro that is hooked up to a 30 -inch Cinema display.
First off, windows have been acting strange. If I click on the top bar of my web browser or application to drag the window to a new place, the image stays still, and then reloads from top to bottom as if it is refreshing. It them jumps to the place where my mouse then lands. This occurs very often.
Second, at least 3-4 times during my workday the entire screen turns blue, and appears to log me out. It then logs me back in and attempts to reopen all the programs I had open. This cycle takes about 25 seconds and is getting very annoying.
Lastly, my interface is a bit screwy now. Normally when I adjust the sound, a white speaker appears is the middle of the screen and shows the new volume level. Now, the speaker is a splotchy purple color and has relocated to the very bottom of my screen. Also, all the colors in my dock are warped. I attached a screenshot to this post.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIts taking about 3-5 minutes to log out and I dont know why I have disconnected a usb without ejecting it before, and also declined an microsoft autoupdate from Word. when im logging out, the screen turns blue and theres a spinning circle at the bototm. after that, the log in screen is not able to be clicked on anything, and it will take about 5-10 minutes to be able to be clicked and log in.

My Mail icon just wound not work when i clicked on it. Opened up in safe boot mode and it fixed itself. But then 'connection logging enabled' appeared on the Mail tool bar. Mail works okay, but what does this the strange sentence mean?I use Mavericks, and my macbook pro is mid-2010.

So i bought a mini display port to hdmi converter and im running an hdmi to RCA cable from to my tv. I dont really know how to set it up to put out the video. I went into displays and clicked detect displays and nothing showed up and theres nothing but a blue screen on my tv.

Randomly the volume keys/brightness etc. stop working and i can't open apps or shut it down normally. I am able to use the internet at the staring but once i logged off and log in back I am not able to connect. Signal strength is showing good. I always needed to goto network preferences and diagnose, so it will do the check ups and will show the connection is working properly and i will be able to use the internet.
