MacBook Pro :: How Long Till Shows Up In Refurb Store
Jun 7, 2010
Does anyone know about how long it generally takes once a new model comes out for it to start showing up in the refurb store? (I realize it's not set in stone.....) I'm looking to get a new MBP but they currently have the previous generation only. I'm ok with refurb so if I could get the new version in that way and save a little $ why not?
Just purchased the season 5 for Lost Season 5 on iTunes, since it won't start broadcasting in my country for several months and I got tired of chasing each episode through torrents. Any way, if the first episode airs tomorrow Wednesday, when will it be available for download?
lion shows as purchase in app store even though it came bundled, also facetime, keynote, pages and numbers even though these were pre installed with the macbookpro late 2011.
I was just rummaging through my cupboard looking for me certificates when I found it. And it fit's pretty alright. It will have to do for now. It a case for my Razer mousepad, the Destructor. It's hard on the surface and it'd do a nice job of protecting it over minor bumps but nothing major. What I like about it is that it's slim. When I first bought the Destructor mousepad couple of years ago, I remembered thinking the case would be a good case for laptops. Had a 15" HP that time and it wont fit. Not to mention, it was too thick. Well, I snapped a few pics. And oh, its a 13 MBA if anyone is wondering.
I bought a new macbook pro a few months ago and the fan starts running the second I open it and keeps running until i close it, the bottom of my mac also gets really hot and the fan does not seem to be helping it cool down. Is this normal?
I just bought an iMac and a WD My Book Live. The first cause my old laptop when to the great binary cloud in the sky, the second cause I want to be able to consolidate my media. Over the years I have ripped by CDs and DVDs so when the time came I could stream all my media through out my house and devices. Because I will be using the Mac primarily for the forseeable future, I have moved my music and movies into their respective iTunes folders. I have started to move my TV shows. But when you add the folder in iTunes I am still only getting the lovely iStore Advert telling me to start looking. Is it because my store is the Irish iTunes Store? So does anyone have some advice as the best way to store my TV Shows and get them to show in iTunes.
I had to replace the hard drive in my MacBook Pro. I went to the App store with my clean install of Lion. However for a number of Apps I need it indicates that they are installed, though they aren't. I can't seem to figure out a way so it lets me redownload and install them on this computer. It's tremendously frustrating. The command click (right click) on the greyed out installed button does nothing. If you go to the app page you get the installed thing again. Â
I'm running final cut pro X version 10.0 and I would like to update to 10.0.4 but the app store shows "all apps are up to date" Anyone encounter this before? When I run FCPX and go to about it clearly shows I'm runing 10.0. I've checked for software updates and that has not found the update either. This link says I can download it from the app store. When i launch the app store it says "Install" and when i click that it says, i've already purchased final cut 10 and cannot instal it? I just want the update?
Looking at my account in the App Store, I found an item, which I have not downloaded, listed as purchased.I did not purchase this item. How do I get rid of it?
I just bought my first Mac this past week and absolutely love it. I went with the 13" 2.26. I am extremely happy with my purchase but I have one question...How realistic is you claimed 7 hour battery life? I expect the battery to last longer and shorter depending on how you are using you Mac but sometimes I feel like it isn't performing as it should. As I'm typing this I have 88% left on the battery and 5:50 till empty (25% brightness and backlight off). I have itunes on but not playing. The problem is when I try to watch youtube or anything else similar, the time till empty goes down a few hours. (from 6 down to 3 hours left till empty).
I´m having a strange problem with my itunes store. When I make a search in itunes store nothing shows up. Its really strange. It´s like itunes store finds titles (I can scroll in a result window) but letters of the titles are invisible. Meaning there are no letters at all. My itunes is fully updated. I´ve got a MacBook Pro, OS X (version 10.9.3).Â
Sometimes I will notice the audio is out of sync on my iTunes store bought videos. Rebooting the computer helps until the next time. This really started to become a problem over the last few months. This is a 15" MBP, 2009 bought in March, 4GB ram. Storage is on a 1TB WD drive in a LaCie 2 big tripple enclosure with firewire. No extra software installed and the computer is only used for iTunes and internet. Has all updates.
I am looking at buying a refurb and I am confused by the description on the apple store page.
The description on the page says:
Quote:
Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics processor; and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory Graphics Memory : 512MB GDDR3
this means it is the 512mb graphics option right ? the first part where "they say 9400 with 256 shared" is refering to the secondary 9400 chipset right ?
I hope this isnt a dumb question.... I currently have a 13 macbook 10/2008 and been thinking about getting a 15. At the apple refurb store they have a 15in mbp for $1349 or new 13in $1119. I love how portable my 13in is but i also like the thought and look of the 15in. Ive read things about the 15in being bulky and not as portable as the 13in. I dont feel like there is that big a difference. Which is the better deal?
How to identify if it's a refurb or new?i'm going to buy a mb alum 2.4ghz from someone I met and he claims it's new, i just want to be sure if it is.maybe the box? or the warranty says it's a refurb? I don't know please tell me.
I ordered a refurb'd 24" ACD and it arrived today. All I can say is WOW! I have it right next to my 24" Dell 2407WFP-HC. The Dell XPS PC is running an NVIDIA 8600 GT with 4GB on the motherboard. Ok, back to the ACD, the unit is spectacular and looks to be 'brand spanking new'. Side-by-side comparison would be subjective and worthless. My eye favors the ACD. I consider this a bargain at $699, not chump change but it works great with my Rev C MBA. I am using the MBA with an Apple wireless keyboard and a Microsoft 5000 Bluetooth mouse.
Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 15.4-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display (1440 x 900 pixel) 4GB (2 x 2GB) of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM 320GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm 8x double-layer SuperDrive (DVD?R DL/DVD?RW/CD-RW) NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR3 memory $1529
Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 17-inch high-resolution LED-backlit antiglare widescreen display 4GB memory 500GB hard drive 8x SuperDrive (DVD?R DL/DVD?RW/CD-RW) ExpressCard/34 slot Built-in 8-hour battery NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB Illuminated keyboard $1799
Which would be the better choice? Is the price difference justifiable?
I am a photographer so I do a lot of tethered shooting through capture one and a lot of photo editing in Photoshop. I have an eizo 24" external display I can hook up to but I feel the 17" with its high resolution and anti glare would be useful for location shoots so my question: Is the higher price and old technology worth it for the bigger antiglare screen and bigger harddrive for what I am using it for?
I've decided to go with an SSD refurb and am torn between the 1.6 and 1.8 SSD model. The 1.8 is an extra $100, but it's $100 which may be over my budget and I'm not sure if I'll really notice a difference. The reason I want the 1.8 is because I'm coming from a 2.0 MB and 1.8 doesn't seem as bad as downgrading to a 1.6.
I'm dying to get one, but I want to make sure I get the one I want. And price is of course an issue. I was curious if anyone has seen any aluminum Macbooks on the refurb site yet?
I currently have a 2.4ghz imac and a hp mini netbook. I'm looking at the Macbook Air units as a eventual replacement for my netbook but I can't decide between the apple 1.8ghz refurb SSD model or the 2.13ghz new SSD model.
I've had my new refurb MBA (2.13/128SSD) for 2 days. I really love it!!! The battery charged up pretty fast the first day. This evening is the first time that I'm using the MBA for any length of time on battery power and it's going well. I've had it on for over 2 hours and it shows 2:45 battery time left.
My MacBook Pro 13", running on latest update, is showing a completely blue, plain blue, desktop background. It changed all by itself. When I tried to reset it by right clicking on the image I want on my desktop and selecting "Set Desktop Picture" nothing changes. When I go into my settings and try to change it that way, the image I want as my background shows as already being my background, yet my desktop is still blue. Tried rebooting already.
Is it worth the extra cash to go up to the 2.13? I know it's a small amount, but that could be a new mouse, or a super drive. I've seen tests that indicate the rev b 1.86 is actually faster than the new 2.13. This will be my only personal mac. I'm a graphic designer (adobe cs4) but I don't do much design work on my personal computer (I have a nice iMac at work). The usual facebook, email, web browsing, YouTube
