Dec 10, 2014I am trying to use all my F Keys, volume up/down, turning up the light on screen as well as the keys, and nothing is working. I just bought this Mac 2 days ago. Is there something I need to do? Or is a malfunction?

Apr 23, 2012I have a late 2011/early2012 MBP running OSX 10.7.3 (build 11D50d) and All of a sudden my trackpad is playing up. I can move the cursor from all places of the trackpad apart from the bottom corners - but I can only click in the center of the pad. However I can touch click in most places (apart from bottom corners). Does anybody know how to fix this?
I've only had my MacBook Pro for 4 weeks now, I've not dropped it, knocked it or spilt anything on it, so this is pretty disappointing to say the least. I've seen a bunch of videos on youtube where people are taking their MBP apart and tightening a screw to fix the problem. My warranty is still valid and I have AppleCare so I don't want to be voiding either of those by taking it a apart and messing about inside.

Safari :: Extensions Aren't Working In 5.1.7?
May 21, 2012Since I upgraded Lion to version 10.7.4 and Safari to 5.1.7 my safari extensions won't work. These aren't exotic extensions here, we're talking about 1Password and Evernote. When I launch Safari, I get a message saying that the extensions don't work with this version of the browser. I removed the extensions and tried to reinstall only to get a message saying that there was an error when trying to install (a truly usefull message, I might add).
Thinking that this might be an issue with a specific extension (1Password), I contacted the developer. Over the course of a week or ten days, we went through a series of steps to try to resolve the problem. None of these steps resolved the issue, then suddenly, for no obvious reason, the extensions started working UNTIL I have to restart my computer when it was physically relocated. Upon restarting and relaunching Safari, I got the same old message -- the extension won't work. When I tried to reinstall, the "error when trying to install" message popped up.

I created users and applied email addresses, all of the necessary setup. On our Lion client machines sending invites doesn't seem to work. Some of the names have a grey circle crossed out by the name. Names that don't still don't receive the invite.

Jun 5, 2014I have an iMac running Mavericks 10.9.3 and Outlook 2011 (Fully up to date) and sync services aren't working. I've enabled them within Outlook and tried resetting Sync Services in terminal using the following command:
"defaults delete com.apple.SyncServer SyncServicesResetWorldRunOnce"
Outlook is full of contacts and calendar entries and I would expect to see all of these within Calendar and Contacts on OS X (I haven't even had a prompt to merge with Calendar and Contacts) I'm trying to get this work so that I connect a Blackberry and sync using the Blackberry Desktop Manager.

Software :: Dock Not Magnifying And Rollovers Aren't Working?
Mar 26, 2009I have an extremely frustrating and sporadic problem. I have no idea what triggers it and I have no idea how to check.Right now, whenever I roll my mouse over anything that should have an "action", it doesn't work. My dock doesn't magnify, menu rollovers on websites don't do anything, and my menu bar doesn't drop down or highlight when I roll my mouse over options. I have to hold my mouse button down, and then let it go when I want to click on something in my menu bar. I plugged in a different mouse, same problem. I restarted my machine, same problem. This has happened several time before and the funny thing is things all of a sudden return to normal.

May 4, 2012My Macbook Pro was working fine when suddenly Safari froze, so I forced quit. After opening Safari again, the page just stayed white and wouldn't load. MacBook Pro :: Retina Display Isight Camera Not Working - Graphics Freeze
Jul 4, 2012I recently bought a base MBP-RD and can say that I am overall impressed with it, though I have found a couple issues already. One of them is related to the iSight camera which for some reason doesn't work. The camera appears in system profiler, but it shows as "camera not detected" when trying to launch application like iChat, Skype, FaceTime, etc. I already tried re-installing OSX Lion, and still not working.
I have also found some weird issue with graphics where it freezes a series of frames when going to Mission Control or App Expose.
I am returning this computer as there are other things I didn't like, but overall pretty impressive (no LED battery indicator, no Lock slot, no sleep light indicator...)

Basically the I updated to 10.6.5 and updated to the latest Java. The problem I now have is with some statistics software called SPSS, it can't render graphs anymore because of the java update.
I've been struggling trying to fix the problem and I can't get it to work.
If I revert back in time machine will it change the system files back so that my software will work again??
Would it be better to do a clean erase and restore from time machine, do I need to use my SL disk for this?

1- Under sound in system preferences- output volume is muted and I can't un-click it
2-Also under sound in system preferences no devices are found under output and input
3-The sound symbol doesn't show in the top toolbar.
Also I googled this same problem and a lot of other people say a red laser is coming out of the head jack on the computer, I however don't have this problem.

Jan 29, 2008today i found that Mail has stopped working for no obvious reason.It wont send or receive emails, but when i check by signing into .mac itself, the messages have arrived and everything appears normal.Mail won't quit either... then every so often a box with the following text appears:'Some actions taken while the account 'enter.mac address here' was offline could not be completed online.Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox "on my mac" in "on my mac" so that you can complete the actions while online.Additional information: The connection to the server "mail.mac.com" on port 143 timed out.

Jun 5, 2012Problem started a couple of weeks ago. Mac Mail worked fine then all the sudden it won't load aol mail. I researched and deleted the account in mail and added back worked for a bit. I think each time I shut down my mac it seems to undo everything having to do with aol mail. I have to delete the account and start over and that is not even working all the time now. Then when I go and add back a signature for that account it seems to mess it up again. What is up with this. I have contacted AOL twice. They help me get it working again but it keeps reverting back in mac mail and won't pull in the AOL mail. The outgoing server only shows as AOL not a real address.

Mar 26, 2012I changed my Internet Service Provider from Sky Broadband to Virgin Media.
The Internet is working fine, but I cannot receive email. I have two hotmail accounts, they are called "hotmail.co.uk" and "hotmail.co.uk 2" the first one is working again after I went into Connection Doctor, but the other one is saying "Trying to log in to this SMTP account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct"
I checked the settings in the Preferences menu and these all look OK, so I can't work out why it's not working. I even tried adding it as a new account but it tells me that the email address is already set up.

However I have looked up my preferences and it all appears correct. but every time i go to send out an email it asks for my password then rejects it.
