View 5 RepliesI have a 15" Mac Book Pro (the one with the keyboard that matches the outer uni-body and track-pad). I am having difficulty in finding the actual model number that is associated with this machine ( as it is second hand). I found the serial number and all the other essential specifications to wit I would have interest for scheduled up-keep. The model number, however, escapes me?

Can I find out the model of my Macbook Pro by the serial number?

I'm looking at placing an order on Amazon (or somewhere similar if anyone has reccos) for the latest base iMac, but their search brings back a ton of results.

If so, I'm trying to find out the model number for my mac so I can buy the correct hard case for it. I wen to my tech spec page on apple and I don't see the model number:

Maybe it's there and I'm just being ditsy, but I control F'd too.
Lastly, does anyone have any recs for where to buy hard cases with designs? I found these on ebay and like a few:

I just wanted to know where to find my powerbooks model number? The bottom of it says Model Number:A... But everyone always uses a number that starts with M. I am selling my powerbook and people want to know what the model number is so I need to find it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased a Power Mac Model # M8570. I have tried to do the research but I can't find that model number???? It has the mirrored doors and 1 Fire Wire 800 with the 2 Fire Wire 400's. 1 GhZ processor and 80 Gig Seagate HD.
As I check into it, I can't find anything with this model number.
Can anyone help me?
Just got my macbook replaced.
Previously had the AU Monitor and loved it...
Now recieved the 9c8a Monitor and the whites seem very light and washed....
Does anyone know who makes the 9c8a? And how it compares to the AU monitor i previously had? Any suggested display setting to change or just go back and ask for a new one???
Ok, so I really really want a rev b mba but what has kept me from buying one is the screen issue. I bought a MB and loved it but I gave it to my sister because her old mac died. I was searching through some previous posts and found that people with the 9C8F screen model didn't have the line issue. I went to the apple store and the ones there had the lines but at my local best buy the MBA on display did NOT have the lines.
My question is this:
Is there a way to check the box for the screen model # or is there a way to check before I leave the store what screen is on the comp?
I think I've searched just about every thing I can think of at Apple's site....Mac, Store, and Support sections but I just can't seem to find the model # for the current TC. Where does one find this??
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a mbp 2.26Ghz 13inch
with screen model 9C9E
I've read some got screen model 9C9F and more.
But I find my screen is not very impressive at all
infact, I think it's not much different form the UMB.
is there any difference between the 2.26 & 2.53's screen?
and some with the same 2.26Ghz model yet having different model of screen of different screen quality.
Yet mine have a bad color saturation as well as a very low brightness.
my screen on the macbook pro 13 inch model is very loose and it's been a month since i've purchased it is there any way that i can get the hinge fixed or replaced at an apple store?

Whenever i tilt the screen forward or back wards like the whole screen flickers i dont know how to explain it but like as if you were turning a tv off that shuttering moment? well that similar thing happens but when i move my screen. The computer works fine and everything but its just that i have never dropped it or nothing so can anyone tell me why this is happening and what i should do.

I am trying to decide whether to get the 2010 model or the cheaper 2009 model. These are the differences that I've found so far for the base model. For arguments sake, let's say they both have 4gb ram (most people selling them have upgraded to 4gb)
2010: 2.4ghz, longer battery, nvidia 320m
2009: 2.26ghz, (slightly) shorter battery, nvidia 9400m
Having a slightly slower cpu, less battery life (about 7 hours rather than 9) and a slightly weaker gpu don't bother me so much, as I will be mostly using the macbook pro for internet surfing and writing word documents
My question is, are there any other differences? (that would make me go for the 2010 rather than the 2009 model) - maybe differences in the display? shape? something else?
i am contemplating buying a late 2008 mbp air i found for $800 on CL. it has the 1.86 ghz 2gig ram and an 128 gb ssd. would that be comparable to the new 2010 version? i know the new one will edge it out, but by how much? i do a lot of art using flash, illustrator, and ps but just want to use this machine occasionally when i travel, ill have another machine for the heavy lifting if needed be. is that a good deal? or should i just wait and get the 2010 version which is double that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedPC World (in the UK) are selling the old 2.66GHz 15" model for 1,149 (rather than 1,499 for the new model).
The differences between it and the new model are summarised below (as I understand them)
Battery: Old: 5hr, New:7hr non-swappable
Display: New: Better colour gamut (apparently?)
Processor: Old: 6MB cache, New: 3MB cache
Card bay: Old: Express34, New: SD
Of the above only the battery life is of any relevance to me (unless the display quality is really that different?). The SD card would be marginally more useful than the Express card.
The LCD on my uni macbook 2.4 has this manufacturer and model:
Manufacturer: 00000610
Model: 00009CA5
I've searched around to no avail. Anyone else have this screen, and know what the vendor/model is?
Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but after searching on these forums I couldn't find a topic already talking about it...
I just received my 15" Macbook Pro ( Mid 2009, the most recent update ), and noticed right away at just how blurry the screen is.
Comparing it to other laptops around me, and my desktops monitors... the text on the Macbook's screen looks blurry compared to them all.
Now Im making it sound like it's horrible, and it's really not... I just expected it to be a lot crisper and sharper.
I just purchased the 2.53 Ghz 13" MBP four days ago from the apple store. Well my Gf just ordered hers about 5 days ago and it arrived today. She has the 2.23 Ghz MBP, 2 gb, 160 gb hdd and she also bought hers new.
I opened up and checked what screen model i have and it is different then hers. Mine is 9C9E. Which i thought was the updated screen.
Well hers is 9CBD. Im very confused.
Does anyone know the difference in screens? Should she have got the updated screen like I did?
I've been contemplating recently (as most mac users do) about switching my 2 year old MBP (2.2 ghz, 2gb ram, 8600m) to the new MBP (15" 2.8, newer gfx, touchpad and a few minor details).
I've been eying the ebay prices for some time and my particular model (with charger, snow leopard, original accessories but w/o box) is valued at about 700gbp. Perhaps people might disagree with me here - how much is it really worth ?
My main point / question is really at what point should I ditch the existing MBP in favor of the new mbp - does it really offer me that much of a benefit at this time to upgrade? I'd sure like the new graphics card in there (is it really that much better?) but I'm not sure there's a significant enough difference there.
On the other hand if I wait much longer the MBP will become pretty devalued and not get me much back for the new and improved MBP - maybe apple's going to improve them soon anyway?
I thought it would be nice to poll the anti glare users for their screen models.
clarification: Tell us your models you unshiners
We own a very old model macbook and the startup screen appears as grey and an icon appears in the shape of a file with a question mark in the middle and the startup does not proceed from there.

I am about to buy a computer and just been doing some research. When I went to best buy and ran a geekbench score on the imac it was like around 5800.
A seller on ebay who is selling a Mac Pro 3.0 ghz just ran the score and posted the results of 6214
[URL]
Based off of this score alone wouldn't it mean that the 2007 Mac Pro is faster than the newer 2010 imac
is the model MB321LLA for Airport Express the newest model which is current selling at Apple?
because I saw some sellers selling this model and I wanna get it but when I check Apple.com, I don't see the the newest model number they are currently selling
I've been playing StarCraft II the past couple of days and noticed the fan for the first time since I've gotten my iMac (which was in November). So I touched the top of the screen and it was burning hot. Is this normal? I really haven't heard the fan until playing SCII, so I'm not sure if my iMac has always been hot.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've looked around and apparently everyone's saying their macbook air runs really cool. The problem is, mines always warm... It usually doesn't get hot unless I'm watching a full screen video, but it's always warm. Is this normal? mention I have the 13 inch base model.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI live in Canada, and no stores seem to sell any configuration that includes this upgrade. I'm more comfortable purchasing my laptop from a store than the online Apple Store. Is this true for locations in the states as well? I would like to get my MBP sometime in the next month or so, is it looking like I'll have to purchase it online?
