I have this Seagate 1 TB ext HDD that I've been using with my old Windows, but unfortunately, when I connect it to my Macbook, I'm not able to make changes, nor can I edit or delete files or add new files to the HD. What should I do?

I have a white plastic macbook which appears not to be able to connect to my wireless network. All the other PCs and a Mac Mini in the house connect fine, but the macbook does not.It has connected since i got it, both to the home network and a network in school, but today it promted me for the wireless password, connected a few times but did not give me a IP address, and now will not connect at all! The network appears in the list, i click on it, enter the wireless password, then it says connecting before connection failed.
The network setup is a Cisco router connected to the modem and then connected to the wireless too. There are no computers connected via cable to the network.
My external speaker connection does not work. Is this a mechanical problem or software problem?

View 2 Replies View Relatedafter some trouble with Windows 7, I decided to reinstall the hole thing.
- I installed Windows 7 RC 64bit on a empty WD harddrive with the selected AHCI drivers.
- After installing, I updated Windows 7. No trouble after restarting.
- After installing the Bootcamp 3.0 (selected Bootcamp64.exe) my system isn't working fine anymore. I got Bluescreen after 1-2 Minutes Windows running on my monitor with the installed 285 GTX, the installed GT120 in slot two seems to run fine and no blue screen on the other screen.
i have a problem with my Snow Leopard installation. Since I've installed Snow Leopard, my external USB HD won't work anymore. It's a ICY BOX case with USB 2 and Firewire 400 interface. The mac is a mid 2009 mac mini (9400m).
P.S.: It doesn't show up in the disc utility
PP.S.: I tried two different hard drives in the enclosure, but all worked fine before Snow Leopard!
i have just bought a liteon external dvd/cd writer and plugged it into my imac. (os X 10.9.2) it is not loading correctly - it just shows up as a folder where i cannot open any of the files. i desperately need to install my printer.

I was getting ready to plug it into my monitor, which I used on my old Windows Machine, and I realized that the Mac Mini would not plug into my monitor. I did try using the adapter that came with my Mac Mini, but it didn't work. My Monitor has a VGA port, yet the adapter wouldn't. I do not want to buy an Apple monitor because they are too expensive for me.

I think the problem lays in the internal microphone (and the driver that doesn't seem to work)? So if I get an external one and plug it in, I'd rather not want to go buy an external mic and just have it not work still.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've followed the Bootcamp procedure correctly, but when I load my Vista Ultimate disk all I get is a blank screen. I've left it for a while, but even after half an hour still nothing.
What could the problem be, any tips?
It is a MacBook and 32 bit Vista if that if of use.
I'm running vista 64bit. On Mac OS, the headphone jack works fine. However, on Vista, there is a red light shining out of it and when i plug either speakers or my earphones into it, no sound comes out (the Macbook Pro's speakers work fine though). Any ideas? I reinstalled the bootcamp drivers with the install DVD.

I was very disapointed that this amazing looking game will not work properly on my macbook pro in windows 7 64 bit via bootcamp...
the game almost always causes the nvidia display drivers to stop responding.. no matter what the setting is.. and if your lucky enough to get into the game without this happening it always happens after a round ends and a new one starts up...
I have a Macbook pro and I'm running windows 7 as the operating system. I just started using Autocad 2010 on this computer, and for some reason, the "delete" key doesn't delete anything when I press it. I tried to set "pickfirst" to 1 (checking the box of "noun/ verb"), but it doesn't help. Setting them both to <0> and <1> don't make a difference, both options don't "delete" the selected object.

When I connect it via Firewire 800 to my MBP in Windows 7 (Bootcamp) it is recognised but when I start copying (read or write) it just hangs after a while or becomes very slow. If I connect it via USB it works. Do I need some drivers ? If yes, where can I found them? I found this on WD but I have the previous generation i.e. without the digital screen. If I go to the software download, it says that the drivers won't work with the previous gen.

I attached external hard drive to Airport Extreme, set up home network and mounted the hard drive. My MacBook Pro can see the drive and all contents, including iTunes library. Our home PC which is running Windows XP also recognizes the drive and can see iTunes library in My Computer. Here is the problem. When I try to chose which iTunes library to open (Shift+click) in Windows XP, the library on my external HD is not visible so I cant open it! I see the cover art and music folder, just not the actual library. What am I missing here? I can see it in My Computer, why not in iTunes?! I need to link my external library to XP. Connecting external directly to PC will not work because I have a Time Capsule there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI told myself not to do it. Don't update the Safari software to 4.0, you know how they always mess up these things. And yet, per accident I did. Of course Safari 4.0 doesn't work. Every time I open it, it shuts down. iChat also doesn't work anymore, and even the Dashboard shuts down every now and then. In addition, the computer feels incredibly slow. I can't download rapidshare links on iGetter anymore and everything just feels wrong. Countless threads have been opened on this matter with a variety of different problems for different people. Yet I have not read a proper solution. I have seen all kinds of technical solutions being offered but I'm not a computer wiz and I do not know the terms they use. I just want to go back to Safari 3.2 or at least the one before the 4.0 But I read that deleting Safari 4 and reinstalling 3.2 won't work because of a certain webkit that got installed with it, making it impossible to go back.

The internet i've got is vergin so normally is very fast.Downstairs where we have a desktop computer connected to the D-link is working as normal.
When I open the network diagnostics in mac it shows : wi fi is green , wi-fi settings is green, network settings is failed(red), ISP failed(red), Internet failed (red), server failed red.

In Windows XP/Vista, if you are navigating in a folder containing pictures, and you click any picture, it opens up Windows built in preview program. Much like OSX. However, in Windows, you can click "Next/Previous" within that program to quickly flip through those photos. Why do the up & down arrows in OSX not work? I still prefer my iMac to any PC I have owned, but this one little thing bugs me to no end. Is there a setting I can change somewhere to make that work like in Windows?

When I press caps lock, no green light turns on and letters remain in non-capital form. Even when I hold Caps lock for a few seconds, nothing happens. If I physically connect an apple keyboard via usb to my computer, caps lock doesn't work.
