View 3 RepliesIt look a LOT like the Macbook. It even has that glass screen cover. Edit: Look like it does not actually. Here's a better picture:

I'm thinking of getting the new 13-inch MacBook Pro soon, but I'm wondering about cases and bags. I was looking around (not hard, and only online thus far), but I haven't stumbled upon and sleeves with handles. The Incase Sleeve Plus is still too big and bulky (strictly speaking, I mean appearance, not actual size and weight; one without a flap going over it, just a zipper).
I have a 15" MacBook Pro 2.5GHz (Penryn) model. I pulled a super drive from a 17" (A1229) MBP but it's the larger version. Never the less, it still kinda fits in my 15" MBP.

Wondering if its possible to connect my xbox to my macbook pro and store the game on the computers hd and have the xbox 360 recognize it and still function through my xbox and tv. In essence as an external drive while still having full function.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI couldn't find whether or not it would fit. Ultraslim cases are harder to come by and more expensive than slim ones but my SD is an ultraslim. Then would a 12.7mm slot loading bezel fit on the whole thing?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a 17" MBP and need a case for it. I want more protection than a neoprene sleeve, but don't need a full-fledged work bag (I already have one). I really like the style and protection of the Booq Vyper XL2, but it has no shoulder strap. I am really afraid I would end up dropping it, as I usually have my hands full on the way to/from work.
I just installed a 160gb Gen2 Intel in my 15" macbook pro, and its flooring me with its speed. Amazing upgrade. All editors, designers, etc... should do this upgrade.
Optibay Alternative ----
Now I want to put another SSD in there for Raid0 or just the stock 500gb for now.. for storage.. but the cost of the Optibay is pretty high. I saw a link to an alternative, called USCaddy or something, I forgot. Can someone link that one in, and comment if its ok?
Slim Superdrive Enclosure -----
And what are people putting their old superdrives in? I want something slim lined, USB bus powered.. etc... Any comments on one that works really well and looks cool
I have just purchased a Toshiba Stor.E Slim hard drive, which I do not require for Time Machine back ups. Should I use the Tuxera NTFS driver, or should I format the hard drive for Mac? Is any benefit over formatting vs using the driver? I pretty much use Macs all the time, but there may be rare occasions when it would be useful to hook up to a PC.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using a Kensington Slim Blade mouse with my MacBook and recently the track ball has stopped working (in any application). I tested the batteries and they are ok. The left and right buttons work ok, just not the track ball (it is similar to the one on the Mighty Mouse). I recently upgraded to 10.5.8, but it started just before that.
I'm having issues getting my new XBOX 360 Slim to connect to my dual-band Airport Extreme when using wireless n. I can get it to connect with n but my connection speed on the 360 drops to 1 or 2 mbps, even though the signal remains strong. I can see the speed drop of the 360 using Airport Utility on my laptop. All other devices on the network are fine. When I switch the 2.4 GHz band on the AE to b/g only, then the connection speed on the 360 shoots up to 54 mbps. That of course neuters the rest of my wireless n devices to g speed since most connect to the 2.4 GHz band due to the limited distance of the 5 GHz band.
Short of finding a solution, my next step is to try a different router brand. I'd rather stick with Apple, but have had more issues with 2 AE models than all of my other Apple hardware combined.

Then all I need is a VGA cable and I should be able to use my tv as a monitor, right? The only thing I dont understand is...what does "female" mean? Instead of just "to VGA" it says "to VGA female"....will that be a problem?
An apple consultant at Best Buy sold me the mini display port to VGA adapter, VGA display cable, and stereo audio cable. When all set up, the volume comes through the TV very very low and the only picture I get is the purple light in outerspace MacBook picture, not the movie playing on my macbook.

I am trying to connect my macbook to my lcd tv. I've been told i need a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter and a VGA to VGA adaptor. I've located the Mini-DVI to VGA adaptor but i have no idea where to get a VGA to VGA adaptor,
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my MacBook Pro (just purchased this year) to my television, which is a relatively new (2-3 years old give or take) Magnavox 20" flat panel LCD TV (For reference: [URL] It can display HDTV and EDTV, and has the input for a VGA cable and standard AV & S-Video inputs, as well as a PC input with what looks like input for male DVI. All in all it looks capable of handling the MBP's input. I've tried connecting the mini DVI-VGA adapter to the VGA cable, and the macbook's screen flickers and reverts to normal (with the additional display detected and seeming to function on the mac side).
However, no image appears on my TV screen, except when I'm playing around with the resolution (at which point, an image almost comes on, briefly flickers on with a slightly off-color, then reverts back to a blank screen). At first I thought this was a resolution problem, but even at the macbook's lowest resolution, nothing came onto the screen except that flicker. Would I need a converter or something to get the image onto the screen? I was doing some research and, while my TV doesn't seem that old, I'm wondering whether it might be digital vs. analog signal or something?
I've got a Minidisplay port to DVI adaptor for my macbook to connect to my LG 27" 1080p tv. I've hooked up the cabling as simple as it comes port->adaptor->DVI cable->TV but although my macbook recognises the TV (and the model number) my tv just sits there saying "check signal cable". The TV clearly recognises that something is plugged in (evident due to the DVI input on my TV not being greyed out). Although I can't 100% confirm that the adaptor is fully functional, I'm pretty sure as a signal is clearly passing between both devices.

I'm going to be living on campus next semester and I'll be lacking a Television. I'm curious if it is possible to connect a Wii to my MacBook Pro and use the MacBook as a screen to play my games on. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know if it's possible, and how or what I need to buy in order to accomplish this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhat cables do I need to hook my early 08 MacBook Pro up to my TV and External LCD Monitor? Here's a quick rundown of what I want hooked up. TV, MacBook Pro, and LCD Monitor.MacBook Pro - has a DVI port.TV - has a DVI port and a couple HDMI ports.LCD monitor - is VGA (currently using a VGA to DVI converter to hook up to my Mac).
From my understanding, I will need a DVI extension and a DVI Y splitter either DVI/VGA or DVI/DVI.
Does this seem right? Is their a better way to do this?
I'm a lifelong PC user who is making the switch from a PC desktop to a macbook pro. Currently I have A set of Klipsch promedia 5.1 surround sound speakers. I am also anticipating inheriting a samsung television from a friend. I would like to be able to use my current speakers and and my new t.v. with my macbook, but I've got a couple of questions here.
1) It looks like the television has a vga input on it. So I'm assuming my best bet is to get the Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter. what can I expect in terms of quality here? The television is 1080p. Will i be able to get 1080p through a vga adapter? Is there a better option out there?
2) Assuming the television did have a DVI port on it, what is the difference between the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter?
3) I would very much like to have both the television and the macbook hooked up to the klipsch speakers. I'm assuming my best option for connecting the macbook is something like the Griffin Firewave. (Sadly it looks as if this has been discontinued.) The Television's only audio out is optical. Does anyone know of an external sound card that would allow me to connect both the macbook and the television? Or if someone has a better solution as to how to accomplish that; I'm all ears.
