Oct 8, 2009I am working on a sales presentation in Powerpoint, but I want to use Keynote on my Air to polish it off and make it awesome. I am not sure if the location that I am presenting is Mac compatible, so if I wanted to use my Air to hook up to a projector to present, how could I accomplish this? If there is no way to accomplish this, would Keynote convert well with Powerpoint 2003?

Jul 14, 2009I'm doing a presentation tomorrow (I can't bring my macbook pro). I made the presentation in keynote 09 with several of the new text and image transitions. I know I will be using a Macbook 2,1 tomorrow for the presentation. Does anyone know if all the transitions will work or would if be safer to export it as a movie file?

Sep 5, 2014Long ago, last year to be exact, I had a Macbook Pro 2009, with Open Office and MS Office older versions installed. They played embedded videos in both Impress and Powerpoint PERFECTLY.
This year I bought a Macbook Air and installed Open Office 4.1.0 and MS Office 2011. Now I cannot play any of the videos in these presentations.
I attempted to make new presentations and re-embed the videos. They play in Powerpoint fine ONCE, then not again. They do not embed at all in Open Office. The videos are all MP4 files.
This does not appear to be either a Microsoft or Open Office issue. To me this is clearly because of my upgrades. This is extremely frustrating, as I am a college professor and need to be able to use these programs without a problem. I also use presentations in my creative work.

Feb 1, 2009In a month or so I'm going to need to do a Keynote presentation with a projector. I have the new MacBook, so I need the Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter. It doesn't seem to be getting good reviews though (many saying it doesn't work for them). I will not be able to test it out with the project until the day of the presentation. Is there any other way to connect the MacBook to what I assume will be a basic projector?

Apr 30, 2009I am not to Hot on this stuff so I will try and expalin as best as possible. I have found a streaming video which I want to download or copy/rip which ever is the best. When I right click the video it comes up with a Flash or Micromedia properties & I dont think it was made for people to download. I am assuming its a Windows based program behind it of some sort. What my aim is, is to be able to rip it & download it onto my Mac then have it on my Itouch. I dont mind paying for a decent program as there are quiet a few I would,nt mind doing.

Feb 26, 2009I've been asked to put together a very large PP presentation with hundreds of pictures. Putting all those pictures in the PPP one at a time is daunting. Does anyone know of a way to add them all at once or at least a bunch at a time? What I'd like to do is add all the pics into a single file and then import them into the PPP. Is this just wishful thinking?
All I can find on the subject is that if the pics are already in PP form from other presentations that they can be imported at once. Of course, that isn't the case in this situation.

Mar 27, 2009About 3 times a year I get to do a PowerPoint presentation, so I know just enough to get into trouble with it on my Mac. If we get to discussing any one slide too long, my Mac goes to sleep. All the PC guys say, "Hit F7" but this does not bring back the Mac, so I restart PowerPoint, and then the projector does not recognize the presentation or various other mishaps and gremlins appear. The Help files with PowerPoint have not been helpful to my searches, nor have the PC guys because they don't have a clue about Macs. How I can become the smooth PowerPoint expert (manuals, books, web sites, etc.).

Jul 7, 2010I use powerpoint for mac a lot and like to zoom during a presentation by holding the control button and slide two fingers across the trackpad, but that only seems to work if display mirroring is enabled. If it's running the two monitors side by side (presentation view mode), and I try to zoom, it zooms way off center or way off where the mouse cursor is. Does anyone know how to zoom the right way when in presentation mode?
