MacBook Pro :: Cannon CanoScan LIDE600f Will Not Turn On
Jun 30, 2014
My Cannon CanoScan LIDE600f will not turn on. I have Maverick operating system on my MacBook Pro. Tried different cables, nothing works. I went to the Cannon Website to see if there was an updated driver I needed, and was told they had no driver for this operating system. Do I now need to purchase a new scanner?
I tried to install a Cannon 620 printer. It seemed to go ok, showed up on the printer list when I tried to send a job, but it wouldn't come online and print. I fiddled around (bad idea) and changed the printer sharing parameters, and now whenever I try to go into system preferences, printer/fax, it freezes and I have to force quite. Same with other apps when I try to do something with the printer (like word). I tried to uninstall, but can't get to the driver to uninstall it, as it is in systems preferences. how to uninstall even though I can't get into the system pref printer options?
My new CanoScan 900F scanner won't work on my MacBook Pro even though I've followed all instructions to make it compatible with the 10.7.2 OS. The USB connection isn't recognised. What else con I do?
I have a 2-1 printer and the printer has been acknowledged by the MacBook air however it doesn't let me scan. It hasn't even got a scan button available. Not sure how to get it to work. Is there something I'm missing or do I need an app?
I have an old CanoScan LIDE N670U scanner which worked fine on a G5 iMac in Tiger (through Photoshop 7). I now have Leopard on a G4 Powerbook and cannot get the scanner to work through Photoshop CS. This is what I've tried : Downloaded the CanoScan Toolbox for Mac OS X - this launches VISE which begins the installation then tells me it has failed because "You do not have enough access privileges". I'm doing this in my admin account! Same thing happened after restarting Mac and redownloading the software.Downloaded the CanoScan driver for Mac OS X (the latest version - 7.0.1) which extracted to a folder of plugins etc, and an installer. Running the installer produced two error messages (regarding a .shlb file and a Button Manager) but completed and has installed the driver into Photoshop CS > Plugins > Import / Export. When I run Photoshop CS, the CanoScan appears to be there in the Import menu, but when I select it I get an error message saying the necessary file is missing or damaged, please reinstall driver, driver window will be closed. I've tried all this a few times with the same result each time.
I urgently need to get some scanning done this weekend, please help!
Extra info - I found a backup of the CanoScan Toolbox 4.1 which I copied over into my Applications folder. The original installer log says there should also be a file Macintosh HD:Library:CFMSupport:pafcv2_carb.lib which unfortunately I cannot replicate without doing the installation (see above). However I'm still getting the same error in Photoshop. And launching the Toolbox doesn't help either - the interface is there but it won't select any program to link to. The driver in the Toolbox appears to be exactly the same as the driver I downloaded separately and installed into Photoshop CS.
Info: PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8), G4, 1.67GHz, 1GB RAM, 250GB HD
i've used paperport before and it is very easy to use. i have a canon lide 30 and canoscan sucks for creating pdf's from a multipage source, no drag and drop and can't make it make sequencial scans that auto combines to one document. i'm trying to get my paper stuff more organized, and dump the paper
any suggestions so can make my canon lide rock and then if i ever get another scanner i can simply add this software.
I have my partner's CanoScan LIDE 100 scanner and was wondering if I could download the software onto my MacBook Pro. He was strictly a pc user and I don't know if this scanner only works with pc's. I tried a download from CNET but only got one of those txt downloads rather than the actual software.
I have Canon CanoScan LIDE 50 and I do not know how to get it work. I have downloaded and installed the latest driver from Canon official webpage, and I also have downloaded and installed CanoScan Toolbox 5.0, but still it wont work.
How do I set quality preferences, photo paper etc. for my Cannon MG6150 printer, I am used to seeing these options at the print dialogue box, these don't seem to be on offer.
Looking at a secondhand Canoscan obviously slightly older model no longer available. If it says required operating system Mac OS 10.1.3 and I have 10.5.6 will it still work?
anyone with a 8600F scanner still works after updating to the latest security updates on osx? Mine stopped working after updating. I can still use the scanner in windows but not in osx. this is driving me nuts.
"You can't open the application CanoScan Toolbox X because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."This message pops up when I click on Canoscan Toolbox
But I can turn it off, if I choose "Share my internet connection for other units". (I don't know, if this is the right text in english, because my OSX is in german)
2) Now Bluetooth is OFF:
But I can't turn it on, because the checkbox "ON" is inactive.
It turns only on, if I choose "New Unit"(?). Then there is a new window, that says, that this is only possible if Bluetooth turns on. If I say OK, bluetooth turns ON.
Back to 1)
What's the problem. Why is this f* checkbox for turning bluetooth on and off inactive?
This is not a hardware problem, because I can have stable bluetooth connections.
I did a smc and am pram reset. But it doesn't help.
Had (used) iBook G4 several months now & thoroughly enjoy it, even tho' I live in the sticks where there's no hi-speed/wireless available; I connect to internet & power, which is fine.
This weekend I went to turn off my iBook & it wouldn't turn off. It's now permanently on, with opening info barely visible (like I need to click on F2 to brighten up, except nothing happens).
Currently using my "back up" computer, my iMac Grape, which is pretty much an antique by now.
I was playing around with my mac g4 logic board... ( yes, i know... ) anyways, i press the power, the light turns on, and the fan spinns up then everything just turns off... http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=95035 ^ my tower, (agp graphics, ftw)
I have just come back home and turned on my macbook 2007 model. I was using it fine just 5 minues ago. Then I shut it down. Now It will not turn on. I've had 2 hard drives die before (made clicking noises). My 3rd drive was purchased 1 month ago. Is there any way to determine what's wrong? There have been no drops or obvious physical damages. It just will not turn on. There's no signs/lights or error messages. (the battery has charge and the power cord is plugged in) [i dont have apple care]
Well I bought a new 15" MacBook Pro in January 2009. And for the most part it's worked like a dream.
Last night I was using it as usual, when suddenly I heard a very brief, quiet internal noise and the computer turned off immediately. It was as if some vital component inside the computer said "screw this" and stopped working.
Now when I press the power button, absolutely nothing happens. I've tried using battery only, AC only, and both. Nothing works.
I've scheduled a phone call with Apple support, but until then. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary when this happened, just browsing the web.
