I installed Firefox a while back and if I try to open the program crashes instantly and about 8 others i just can't recall what apps.
I have repaired permissions from within disk utility with no luck.
I'm somewhat new to the Mac world and have found my first huge issue that I don't know how to fix. I was recently changing a theme using Magnifique and since doing it have lost access to everything. Nothing will open, if I try I get an "app name quit unexpectedly" dialog box. I have no menu bar, no HDD icons, I am unable to open a finder window or any other applications. I'm completely lost as to what I'm supposed to do.

I have a 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac. Bought it some months ago. I recently had to redo everything. I've run into one problem. I cannot get the old AOL (yes, the old software with the installer) to work. I download it, and open it to install and it closes. It bounces in the dock for a few seconds then closes. Yes, I have Rosetta installed. I installed it from the CD. Other Rosetta required applications are working (Appleworks, for example).

Every time I try to open a document from any way other than from inside Adobe I get this message: "The document �RFI #12 Answer.pdf� could not be opened. Acrobat cannot open files in the �Adobe PDF document� format." Is there a setting that needs to be changed?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I attempt to open a pdf file in Firefox I get a dialog box asking me to "Open with" or "Save to Disk"? The problem is the "Open with" lists only an old app that I no longer have, and doesn't give me a choice to select which app to use. If I go ahead and click OK it opens in Preview which is fine, but why does the dialog box only show an old app that is no longer available? How this this info get filled in, and how can I fix this?

I am clicking a link to open a PDF in Safari and it brings up the window asking what program to use to open it... however, Preview is grayed out and I cannot change to "Enable All Applications" like you can normally, i guess because it's in Safari it's different.
I am pretty sure this started happening when I deleted an Adobe Acrobat Pro trial.

I have about 10 jpg files that in the finder window I can see the whole image, but when I try to open the picture or put it in iphoto i can only see half of the picture. How can I see the whole photo?

I have Safari set as my default browser and I have RSS feeds set in Safari preferences to use Google Reader as my default RSS reader. Problem is when I click the RSS indicator in the address bar of Safari to add the feed Camino opens up with the dialog to add the feed to Google Reader.Obviously this should happen in Safari not Camino. I also have Google Chrome, Firefox, and Opera installed along with Camino and Safari. All the other browsers RSS work as they should. What could be causing this in Safari?

I have the first and third option checked in the tabs preference but it doesn't seem to matter. I might be delirious from playing with leopard all day/night, but I just want to figure this one last option out before bed. View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been given an iBook G4 1.33Ghz 512mb Ram Notebook to repair. The problems seem to be that only a couple of the applications work...the desktop fires up OK. But I can only fire-up Safari..When you double click any other app, they jump up and down, but nothing happens. I was going to format and reinstall everything, but how do I get the required files off the iBook, I can't see any icons on the desktop to be able to "open" the HD to remove & copy files....Within the OS the CD-Rom doesn't mount either....nor any USB Stick as far as I tell, I was thinking of buying an External HD & Trying to install the MAC OS onto it & remove the files from the Internal HD afterwards, Is that feasible.

I haven't installed any plug ins, altered the accounts, or done anything different in mail today. For some reason, it all of the sudden stopped opening - can't even get a main screen up when I launch it. I've tried deleting plists, holding shift on start up, checked for any problematic mail being downloaded via my iPad, repaired permissions and even tried to launch yesterday's version from Time machine. I've tried opening Mail without being on the internet too. I have an exchange account and a mobile me account on there, and both have been working perfectly until today. I have a 2009 Unibody Macbook Pro running 10.6.4. My crash report is almost twice the length of the allowed word count so can't post it - is there a specific section I should cut and paste?
