MacBook :: My Space And Music - Can Use Flash Block To Locate The Source?
Jun 23, 2009
Until several days ago I had no problems on myspace. I am a filmmaker and in a band/book shows, and myspace serves as a great place to promote and find contacts. However, the myspace music player hangs up any browser I attempt to use on my Macbook (OS X 10.5.7). Regardless of which myspace music site it is, the myspace music player freezes the browser and I constantly have to do a force quit. When I restart the computer, the music player will actually load (it usually hangs before it even loads) briefly, and freeze up the browser once more. I used Flashblock to locate the source (as many other forums have suggested) and it definitely is only the myspace flash music player. No other flash effects my browsers.

BEFORE I started experiencing problems with my HD, a year or so ago, and before it crashed, I made this backup (see "GREY_USB"). At that time, I was using iMovie 06 to produce video DVD's for animations of clients' products and business plans. AFTER my system crashed (and a move to the other side of the planet!), I was finally able to have my Powerbook rebuilt and restored (see 3 attachments beginning "BLACKORANGE".)
Only after getting fully settled here, did I realise iMovie is apparently not installed....at least, not as far as I can tell. Some version of it may be on one of these USB flash drives, but it's been so long since I tinkered with any of this alchemy, I don't remember a flaming thing about how to go about checking. Is it possible to view only, without downloading anything, exactly what applications/data are on BOTH flash drives, then, IF the iMovie dmg is still on one of them, to install it?
I'd prefer not to install iMovie 08 unless that's all I have; the expense of having to fit Final Cut into the budget right now is absolutely out of the question. If you need more details or info, let me know. As my signature indicates: Powerbook G4, Mac OS X 10.4.11 w/Safari 4.04, iLife 08, occasionally running external LaCie HD (well, when I find it and unpack it).

Suddenly, all of my music in iTunes has a little exclamation point next to the track, and it can't locate the song. They are all there. Is there a fast way to get iTunes to find ALL my music, without having to go back manually and click on each track to find?

The selection of music from iTunes Music Library, is not working in iPhoto Slideshow, in my Mac Book Air. However, it works nicely in my main IMac.
The Slideshow at the Mac Book Air works only with the pre existent sources "Sample Music" and "Theme Music". The remaining library is visible on the sourcing list, but when I select any musics, they do not pop up in the window below.

I'm in the process of moving my iTunes folder to an external hard drive due to my computers hard drive being full. Now the external hard drive I'm using needs to be plugged in to a power source, now if I transfer all my music/movies to the external drive and also have my iTunes automatically download everything to the drive will I be able to copy my movie files back into my computers hard drive when I wan to be able to watch them on plane trips or would I be better off using a external hard drive that doesn't need a power source so I can just take it with me?

I have step up Airtunes (Express) and it works fine from computers on the LAN connected via ethernet, but the one PC it doesnt work well on is in the kitchen (wireless with a 90% connection N). The express obviosly has a good connection otherwise it wouldnt work on the other PCs. It seems that the way iTunes works is that if you play music from a shared location (we have a music server) it doesnt stream the music direct from the source to the express, the music travels via the PC with which is controlling the music (which is a bit silly?) Due to this, the Kitchen PC doesnt work well, but if when clicked play, the music went straight from the source to the express it would work fine

Can anyone tell me where iTunes is storing all my MP3 music and playlists information? Usually, I find it under users/music/itunes/itunes media
Well, just went there and nothing is listed inside the iTunes folder.
Is there some sort of protection in place preventing me from accessing all my stored MP3s and playlists?

I am new to Mac and just got a MacBook Pro. In the process of transferring music to a new external hard drive, I temporarily stored it on my MBP hard drive. After I transferred it to the new external drive, I deleted the folder, and emptied the trash. Despite this, my finder window tells me I have only 1.5 GB of free space left.

I got 32GB memory with exfat format.. the issue is that I dont have enough space in the 32GB while I just used about 5 GB?
I believe that this happining cause when I delete the files they are not actually deleted .. they are just dissappear from my interface... Â
Do I have to format the flash every time to store my data or you have a solution for this issue.. I do not use the FAT cause it is impposible to store more than 4 GB in copping and ntfs are not support by default Â
Note: I am up to date with Lion"

I have a Sandisk Cruzer 16GB flash drive, which was working fine for months. It was formatted as FAT32 so I could move stuff back and forth between my tech school computer and my mac. I pulled the files off of it, and put an anti-malware program on it to troublshoot a netbook for class. The size of the drive is now shrinking, down currently to 43.5KB. I have no idea what may be causing it, or how to stop it.

Irecently had my laptop (holding my itunes library) stolen. Grrr. So I have since purchased some software called Senuti which enables me to replicate my ipod back onto my Mac laptop. The problem I have though, is I have over 8,000 songs on my ipod and my laptop doesn't seem to have nearly enough memory for me to copy back. I have deleted everything possible from the Mac to free up space, but there is not enough.
Is there a way I can get my music back from my ipod, and be able to run ITunes effectively again and keep updating my library with new music and pictures? I have an external hard drive, but I'm unsure how I could either use the hard-drive to facilitate the transfer, or do I need to copy what content I have managed to copy to itunes, to the hard drive, then delete from the laptop and copy the next batch?

I have a lot of music on my macbook and want to download more. I just bought a 520 GB hard drive. How would you recommend storing this music so that it would be easily accessible from the external and backed up yet cleared from my computer? there has to be an easier way than what I had with my pc......(everytime I wanted to hear a song from my external or put one on a cd I had to go through all these folders - transfer the song from the external to the computer and wait)

I just got an external hard drive because I have thousands of songs that my macbook cannot hold.
I am using Time Machine to put everything on my external but I was wondering....if I delete the music on my computer so that I just have it on my external - will Time machine delete it off my external when it automatically updates since it is no longer on my computer?
I want to download more music but am scared of losing any old music.

And I have only had the laptop for less than 2 years now, Is this normal? Is there a way to erase items so I have alot more free space? I also have an portable external hard 320 gb I use to back up my hard drive. Will this save my music and important items so I can erase items (music, etc.) off of hard drive? then when i need those items just plug the portable hard drive in? For some reason, when I go to listen to a band's music on MySpace, the player will load and play the music, but it won't show the song titles, and the little visualizer thing on the player all moves as one big blue block, rather than looking like a waveform. I downloaded the latest version of Flash, and I'm having this problem with both Firefox 3.5.5 and Safari 4.0.4.

the reason i am here in this one to one conversation its because my ipod got stolen on a Wedsnday; to be exact February 15th. I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. By a suprise where i left my ipod, they took out everything that was covering the ipod and just left my pink headphones. I'm here because i would like to replace my ipod.I know my apple id account, and password. I have the app locate my ipod.Sadly i couldnt locate it because it wasnt turned on.
