View 2 Replies View RelatedFor about 2 weeks, my dashboard hasn't been working properly. I've had Snow Leopard on my machine for about 2 months, so it's not directly related to the fact that I put that on my machine, but I'm not really sure what is going on. Most of the widgets are semi-unresponsive, the weather widget still gives me the weather etc., but none of the little "i" buttons work, and several of the other buttons on certain widgets don't work, making many of the widgets practically unusable. It's almost as if the widgets aren't recognizing the mouse.
I've tried deleting dashboard preferences, and then last night I reinstalled snow leopard, none of which made any difference. I also tried using pacifist to re-install dashboard, still nothing. I really don't want to have to do a clean install just for the dashboard, I'm using a 1.83 ghz intel macbook (2006)
How di I add or delete items on dashboard?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did not have to use smc fan control earlier but ever since 10.6, it seems my notebook does not ramp up the fans until 90C or even higher. In 10.5 I would see the fans to start coming on when the temp got in the 80C range. Anyone else have a similar experience? I was converting a movie to my iPhone using Quicktime X last night and I saw the temp get to 100C before the fans ramped up and stayed at about 6200rpm. I hate to make another cpu temperature thread, but I am trying to see if Snow Leopard had any impact on SMC settings.
(I also did a SMC reset after installing SL and the effects are the same with the fan speed not coming on sooner) I guess now is the time to get the program to control my fan speed. Just sucks that Apple themselves cannot control their own temps
How do I change my ip Address on my macbook pro running snowleopard?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Snow Leopard, my dashboard widgets don't "fly in" anymore. The screen fades dim and then the widgets just appear in their place.
Is anyone else experiencing this phenomenon? I thought maybe the 10.6.1 upgrade would fix it, but it didn't.
I don't know about you, but Snow Leopard's aurora is so much cooler. I used a program called "Desktop 2 Login" to change the default wallpaper for the login screen to a different wallpaper. Using this same program I changed it back to L's Aurora. (Still in 10.5). When I upgraded to snow leopard, the login wallpaper did not change. It is still stuck on L's aurora. I have used about every method besides Terminal, and it won't change.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI put "levelwidget" on the dashboard - it is supposed to make a macbook into a Level. Sounded interesting...now I regret! The widget is corrupted and now when I try to open the dashboard it immediately closes and gives me an error message "you can't open the application motion because power pc applications are no longer supported" How do I delete this widget so I can open the dashboard. I've tried to look up the file, but can't seem to find dashboard widget files.

I'm using CandyBar to change the icons, and the Dashboard icon is changed under both System and Applications. In Finder it looks like the one I want to change it to, but when I move it into the Dock it just looks like the default icon. The same thing happens with the Finder icon. Any ideas? Oh and to change the iCal icon, is there any way to change the way the icon looks when you have iCal running? It just looks weird to have it look one way when it's closed and change back to the default when it's open.

I have several clips in the Timeline that I want to change the duration. I just want one frame taken away from each clip. So I click on the clip in the Timeline, then Control+D to show duration in the Dashboard. I type in the new duration I want, which is one frame less. It takes one frame off the Back of the clip. How do I get it to take the frame off the Front of the clip?

I'm having a strange problem with my dock and dashboard, whenever I add Items to either they quickly vanish, not allowing me to change them. With the dock, I can't add Flash CS4 to the dock, it will just appear, then disappear. With the dashboard, I can't add any widgets I've downloaded without the dashboard closing to desktop. I've tried reinstalling the widgets, no luck. Has anyone had this problem before, or know how to fix it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedCan you change skins for Snow Leopard?
Im so tired of how everything looks. I wish it was all shiny and black, or white.
I found this great site with a billion skins, but the last update was from 2008. So, can you change skins for Snow Leopard?
I know this has been addressed before, but the answers didn't work for me, so I posted a reply in that thread but got no responses, so I'm starting over.
With 10.4, all I had to do to change an icon for a folder or website was copy and paste. These were for icons I wanted in my dock to make them easy to find. Otherwise the default seems to be either that ubiquitous satellite dish or a boring documents icon.
But now, even though I can still do the get info/copy & paste routine, and the new icon shows up in the folder or the desktop, when I drag that icon to the dock it reverts to that crummy satellite dish. When I installed 10.6 on my new iMac, it kept some of my dock icons - the ones I had created - and dumped others. And kept me from creating new ones for the dock.
