MacBook Air :: Skip To Top Or Bottom In Mac Mail?

MacBook Air :: Oregon To Skip Sales Tax
Nov 25, 2010Does it make me cheap if I send my MBA to Oregon to skip sales tax and then have my Grandparents send it too me? 100 bucks in my pocket. Also no. Places like MacMall aren't an option for me because New York has some unique, very strict law about how businesses have to collect sales tax from online purchases. Did you guys know that technically we're all required to report online purchases and pay sales and use tax on them every year? (Well, not in a few states -- like Oregon, no sales tax, woo) Considering I'd never known this and don't know a single person who does it, I thought it slightly funny.

Jul 4, 2012I'm trying to send a message to an Address Book mailing list in Mail. For some reason, my email account isn't functioning properly (another problem for another day), and Mail reports that the account doesn't recognize any of the addresses on my list. Mail, of course, lists ALL of the addresses, so the error message (and the buttons to deal with it) extend past the bottom of my 1920 x 1200 display. (I found that out by moving the dock somewhere other than the botom of the screen.)Does anyone have any idea what to do? I can't make the screen resolution any finer. I tried quitting Mail; the message pops right back up when I restart. I tried deleting the message from my Outbox, but the displayed message + error doesn't budge.

Jun 4, 2014Have been having this problem ever since installing Mavericks. AppleCare keeps telling me they will tell me how to stop this and have my new messages at the top again, but still haven't told me. Every day I have to re-set this because it reverts back.Â
Having many other AppleMail problems: For one thing, am not receiving some important emails which do show up in Web Mail.

ITunes :: Can't Skip To End Of Song
Apr 6, 2012I replaced an older lesser quality mp3 with a higher quality version by replacing the original file. I've done this hundreds of times without a problem. I'm using 10.6.1, and when I replaced a song in this manner yesterday, I am unable to click on the end of the timeline of the song. It will only advance to the :35 second mark left in the song. Fast forwarding through the song also stops at the same point. It refuses to advance beyond that :35 left mark except by letting it play normally. I know the new file advances fine in iTunes if I drag it into iTunes and create a duplicate version.Is there some metadata from the old file that is causing iTunes to think the new file ends early because it is a few megs larger? Can this be cleared by a method other than reimporing the song new? I'd like to keep the Date Added, Ratings, and Play count info.

Aug 16, 2010I recently reset the boot thingy, (with shift-control-r-p) and repaired disk permissions. now if I delete something it will ask "are you sure you want to delete XXX, this item will be deleted immediately, you cant undo this action"
google this and it seems more ppl are wanting this feature but I dont, how do I get it back my normal trash bin? I tried in Finder's preferences, didnt work.

OS X :: Movies Not Playing - Wont Skip To Different Scenes
Aug 7, 2010I've copied all of my dvd's using Handbrake to my portable harddrive. For some reason some of the movies when I click on them wont let me skip to different scenes. It's like you have to watch the whole movie or let the movie load for 30 minutes completely to then skip to the scene you want. Does anyone know why some movies will let me skip to any scene and then others will make me wait for it to completely load? I don't know if this makes sense or not but thanks for the help.

May 1, 2012I would like to not install a specific version/update of an iOS applications. The reasons for wanting to not install a specific version/update are varied, but include a "DO NOT INSTALL THIS VERSION" type warning from the developer. Within iTunes I always selectivly install updates and do not use the "Update All" primarly so I can evaluate which updates to install. Is there a way to mark an update as "I want to skip this version" so it will be visually different then other updates, or not present in the list of updates?

May 28, 2012This has been happening to me for a while now. Sometimes when I drag music files into iTunes, only some of the songs will actually work. The ones that don't will play the first few seconds and then skip to the next song. I know that these files are NOT corrupted because if I keep deleting it from iTunes and reading it, I will eventually get the whole song to play. It's super annoying and I hate having to manually upload every single track multiple times. When I sync my iPhone to my computer, the same songs will only play a few seconds!

ITunes For Mac :: Can't Skip (Next / Previous Buttons) Songs Fast
Jun 28, 2014I can't click in the next/previous buttons fast. I mean, if I click once (e.g. to skip a song) I can't click again until about 1 sec later. If I try to click again before 1 sec after the first click, it doesn't do anything at all, as if there's not even a button there. And no matter for how long I keep making several fast clicks, it just won't skip the song. I have to stop clicking, wait 1 sec, and THEN click. This happens either using the trackpad or a mouse. Quite annoying.
There's no problem though if I skip songs fast using the Next/Previous key in the keyboard.Â
I'm using a Macbook Air 2013, iTunes 11.2.2 (3).
OS X :: Using Safari To AutoFill For My Passwords / Skip Login Page Completely?
Apr 7, 2009What I'd like to do is have Safari use AutoFill for my passwords, but not store the passwords in my login keychain. I'd like to have a separate keychain that I can unlock from the menu bar that allows Safari access to passwords that it otherwise would not have. And I'd want it to work seamlessly with the Safari AutoFill. I tried manually adding a password in the Keychain Access Utility, which I don't want to have to do, but even then when I told it to AutoFill (although I'd like it to AutoFill automatically), I had to give Safari permission to access my keychain.
For example, if I went to Facebook, it would present the usual blank password field. But if I unlocked my keychain and then went to Facebook, the password field would already be filled in.
Even more ideally, I'd like it to skip the login page completely (as if "Remember me" had been checked), but I don't think that's possible.

May 24, 2009I have an imac g5 (don't remember system software and can't look 'cause it won't boot!) when I boot in safe mode (hold down shift key) it starts with desktop pic but nothing else. In the top left corner first line is

I've tried:
resetting smu
resetting pram
starting up from system software disk Tiger (have multiple computers and don't know if that's what's on this computer or not)
I either get
a gray screen with a power icon saying I should restart
a blue screen

Aug 31, 2014The play/pause and skip/rewind buttons on my keyboard are not working with the latest version of iTunes (11.3.1). I've read about fixes related to the Google Chrome extension, but I don't have that extension. I noticed that the buttons work with Spotify but not with iTunes. When I test the buttons on iTunes, I make sure that Spotify is completely closed. The play/pause function is especially important to me, as I use it to transcribe interviews quickly.

Jun 1, 2012I have a few people who send me email ALL THE TIME (like 20 - 30 per day), unfortunately, I cannot delete or block them b/c occassionaly I need to read something they send me.... anyway....Â
I'm wanting to have their mail automatically skip the inbox, and go to a Mailbox I create for them. Unfortunately, Smart Mailboxes seemingly should have this ability, but I can't fingure it out. When I delete an email (that the Smart Mailbox has in it) from the Inbox, it disappears from both, so if I could "Auto-delete" it from the inbox, it would seemingly auto-delete from the Smart Mailbox too.Â

Apr 14, 2010I just wanted to get a take on this. I recently sold my Macbook and still have a 2.66ghz iMac at home. I was going to pull the trigger on a new shiny MBP than I started doing some checking the the 330M I wish it were a better card.
So I got the idea to sell my iMac as well and get the iMac i7 and a low end MBP 13. Now this is what I would use it for. I need a portable for presentations, I do light photoshop and web work, entering into video FCP etc. I also bootcamp for bits of gaming (L4D, Dragon Age) and eyeing SC2 later on. With this in mind there are 3 issues.

May 4, 2012I have a 15" Mac Book Pro that I bought in May of 2011. Especially, when I watch movies or use Skype it gets hot. It's not hot like it can burn me or anything. And I realize they "work" harder when using Skype or watching vids but I was wondering if the computer getting warmer is normal ?

May 31, 2012From the time I bought my new Macbook in Mid-February, it gets hot over small stuff.... and starts getting way hot when i start playing any game like CivilisationV, Sims3 etc.Sometimes its CPU temperature reaches ~93 degrees Celsius and Fan Speen reaches 6500 rpm according to istat pro of Dashboard, and it gets difficult to even rest my palm on the sides of touchpad and keypad.. I contacted customer care here, and they said to make a backup cuz they will put Lion again.. Is it Operating System's fault? Dirt's Fault? Manufacturer defect? or is it Normal?My Charger adapter also gets wayy too much hot after around 20 minutes that I cudnt even touch it!Â

MacBook Air :: Missing 3 Bottom Screws
Sep 19, 2010I am new to macs. I just bought a used macbook air, and realized 3 screws were missing from the bottom, I called all the local repair shops, no one has screws for it. I would really like to get the screws. Longer ones by the fan I am more concerned about, where could I order them from without getting a while set for like $40? It is out of warranty so apple will not give me the screws.

Sep 24, 2010I have a Macbook from 2008 that I've had for just under two years now. The bottom row of keys (zxcvbnm,.) often do not register my keystrokes. For example I would push the keys and nothing would happen on screen. Its never been near water, I haven't had the need to clean it with a sponge or anything since I've had it.
I was wondering if Apple could replace my keyboard if I sent it in. I'm unsure since the keys actually work about a third of the time what the best (and least expensive) route to take is.
