I am trying to view a webcam to watch my dog at daycare, when i try viewing it i am told that i need to upgrade my java. did that java told me i downloaded it and ready to use.Â
but everytime i log into the site and click on the webcam i get a blank screen. i then get a message that my security is blocking me from using java.Â
What my security should be set at in order to use java. as far as i can see i have everything right. But still cannot view it on my macbook pro. i have OS X 10.9.3. I can view the webcam on my iphone and ipad but i need to refresh every couple minutes. When i sign into the daycare it ask me if i want to use JPEG, GIF or 3G. which is the correct one.Â

So top sites seems pretty cool but what if you are at work and shouldn't necessarily be surfing and sites start popping up in 'Top sites' for your boss to become aware of? I see no obvious way of blocking them. The 'Safari 4 launched' post is growing so fast it made sense for me to post this separately.

I have a time capsule and found out that WoW uses port 3724 but that's all i know... If it can't be done with the network then how would I be able to block it on his computer without him being able to fix it with just a reinstall? (he has a PC)

Seems Glimmerblocker isn't working with the beta release of Safari 4. Anyone have any luck blocking ads? Also, I'd love to block flash. The inability to block flash is probably the main reason I could never use Safari full time. The browser looks amazing and is very snappy, but alas.... I need plugin support.
View 16 Replies View Relatedanway, im can't stand these ads, is there anything (even for safari 3) that would block them "similar to ad block plus" in firefox? if there is nothing im not even going to see if it better suits me. since i got a dvr and all this ad blocking add ons (you can actually target an add that isn't caught by the filter and make it filter it, amazing) i absolutely can not one bit stand there and take it from all these ads

View 10 Replies View Relatedinstalled what seemed to be the most commonly referred to one -- SafariPlus. It was not the usual easy install -- I had to add a folder in my Library, and move the contents of the download into it. Upon restarting Safari, it would crash immediately -- so I removed it.
I also installed ClickToFlash, and while it worked well, it kind of annoyed me when using, for example, youtube playlists, and i had to click on every single page in order for it to play. I get that it's what it's designed to do, but it wasn't really convenient for me.
I just re-installed SL and while perusing the adblock for Safari site, I found that adblock just works in 32-bit mode.

I am using free.fr in France, and IPv6 is enabled as part of the service. There are certain services running that were only accessible to the local network, but I now find that if I know the IPv6 address of the machine they are world accessible. I tried limiting services to be only accessible to the local machine, by adjusting the settings in the Firewall configurations in the system preferences, but the services still seem to be world accessible. Do the firewall configurations ignore IPv6? Is there any way to make it so that services are only available to machines in the local networks via IPv6. I suspect I going to need a command line tool or a third-party tool.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHere is the situation. my family has someone staying with them our house who is basically addicted to internet pornography. They will be here for a while as they have hit a rough patch in their life and we are trying to help them out.
We already had a block set up with openDNS to effectively block all web sites through our router (apple time capsule) but that doesn't do anything to block p2p file sharing and our guest has figured this out. I discovered this because they are not too computer literate and all of their downloads from limewire and frostwire ended up showing up in their itunes shared library.
He says they have a guest Wifi network, but it won't let me access Gmail (which I need for work), Facebook, and who knows what else I might need whilst doing research. I don't know much about networks (I'm a Mac girl; my knowledge of networks pretty much consists of "plug in Airport"). I don't know how they're blocking the sites they're blocking. Can anyone give me a concise, "go here, put in these numbers" kind of solution to ensure that my browser has free access today? I'm willing to pay for a pay service or app, if that's necessary. Not terribly worried about other ports being open; I can live without iChat if I can reach Gmail & Facebook via the web. using whatever the latest version of 10.6 is.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an iBook G4 with the slot load Optical Drive and right now I can't get the disk that's currently in it out. When I press the eject key I can hear it trying to eject it but then it goes back inside and it reads normally. I need to get the disk inside it out for the disk costs more than the computer it's in. I tried several ways to eject it, the slot isn't bent but I took a knife and felt inside the optical drive for anything that can be blocking it and noticed some piece of metal right in the front of the optical drive blocking the CD inside. I think it's something to protect the CD while it's in the drive but it look's like it's jammed. I will take the computer apart and pull the drive out if I have to but is there an easier way?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on a very small college campus where they graciously block every port except for web and a few other app ports (iChat video doesn't work, SMTP ports are blocked, and of course bit torrent doesn't work). I can usually get connected to the tracker, but no peers ever connect. Now for those who may chastise me for using bit torrent, I'm downloading a video my friend made in the US, so there is no legal aspect to this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm devastated, my infallible Macbook has now shown not to be all that infallible! My problem is a pop-up window saying: "Popup blocking software has prevented display of the Trend Micro Security Services dashboard. Open an Internet Explorer window and enter url in the address box: [URL]. That first only popped up when I visited a new page (any page) but now it won't go away at all and I cant visit any page since it keeps popping up again and again and prevents other pages to load. (I'm writing this from my old PC). I normally use Safari but when I tried Explorer and Mozilla the same thing happened. I haven't installed anything from Trend Micro. I have recently moved to a new house where I share the router with my landlords downstairs.

It'll give a warning message on all attachments but on certain attachments it downright blocks them all together and doesn't even give me the option of bypassing the message to open the attachment. How to block a page (from a business job searching website) from appearing on my screen without me searching for it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince the Safari 5.1.5 update, one function of my bank's bill pay can not be accessed and defaults to a different page. I checked with the bank this morning and it seems the latest update of Safari blocks entry into the Medivante bill pay function which operates within the shell of the bank web page. The browser gives no indication that that page is actually from Medivante. Essentially, Safari sees this as a third party and blocks the browser from even getting information, not just cookies!
Bill pay can be accessed from the main page to set up a payment since that is a flow though using the bank information or setup, but is blocked if doing any editing which requires the site communicating directly with Medivante within the bank site. This can only be gotten around by changing to NEVER blocking cookies. Having the setting of blocking 3rd party and advertiser cookies no longer can be used with the bank site if I need to access the bill pay function. This doesn't even seem to be an issue of cookies, but is blocking access to bank/Medivante information.
Because the never setting is a risky one that only a fool would allow, I have to change the setting while I am in the bank site, change back cookie preferences when done with the bank, then close Safari before I do further browsing (seems the new settings don't always take effect until the browser restarts). This might be for our protection, but Apple has broken convenient use of the bank site that had worked prior to the update. I do not know who else might be affected. My bank is not one of the "big name" financial institutions but is certainly not a minor institution.

I upgraded Safari last night through Software Update.Â
This morning I tried to go to one of my regular sites and OpenDNS blocks me from it.Â
I don't use OpenDNS. I did a couple of years ago when I was having speed issues with Safari. It didn't help so I dropped it. Turned out that was a modem problem that couldn't handle DNS prefetching. So why is it back? Why is it blocking me? And how do I stop it?

I noticed over the summer that I was no longer receiving e-mails from my church. I am very involved, so I need to be able to communicate with various staff members-- but multiple attempts to correct this problem have failed:Â
1) we have verified that they have my correct address;
2) I have added all the relevant addresses to my Contacts and designated them VIPs (whatever that means);
3) I have checked my settings and I do not have any filters that should be blocking these messages;
4) the messages are NOT in my Junk or Trash folders!Â
