MacBook Air :: Change The Keyboard Configuration On It?
Apr 10, 2012
I just started my macbook air first time and I wrongly selected another keyboard instead of US during the auto configuration...how to go back and set the US keyboard layout?
I have a new macbook pro i5, and the question is if it is possible to change the configuration of what programs will use the nvidia gpu. This is, because I have some writing program that really dont need the nvidia gpu, and the mac use it innecesarily.
I need to change the display configuration of my macbook but I can't see to open the preferences (because the configuration is wrong!) - what can I do?
I have a 13" MacBook Pro with a Magic Mouse and wireless keyboard. I would like to buy another Magic Mouse and wireless keyboard for my office. What I need to know is, can I have both pairs setup on my Mac so that when I go from home to the office they will work without having to reconfigure the peripherals?
Anyone knows if it possible to buy a "MacBook" with french keyboard (AZERTY) in a US Apple Store? I know we can order it through out the internet apple store, but I was just wondering if this option was actually available in stores.
I have a couple of movies here and i just converted them on .mp4 so i could be able to watch them on my ps3. the movies on my mackbook pro look fantastic, almost like HD! but when i converted them doesn't look as good. I guess i need to change the configuration. How should i put it so the quality wont change THAT much?
Upon 3 fast consecutive caps my keyboard changes layout automatically and there is no way I can change it back other than taking the batteries away and later putting them back. It is really annoying, especially because the backspace changes to forward space and the arrow keys have different functions. The keyboard has new batteries, changing language does not work, OS is 10.6.8 with all updates.
I've been meaning to learn Dvorak for a long time and finally tore up an old Pro Keyboard and made it Dvorak. I was wondering if anyone knows if changing the keyboard layout will void the warranty?
I actually ordered a MBP quite a few weeks ago on the refurbished store, but then I decided to return it as I saw that there was basically only 10 pounds difference between the education discount and the refurbished. So I went into the Apple store and asked them if they actually replace keyboards (as I'm not a huge fan of the British Key layout), and the person said that they would do it for free. So I made my purchase on the spot and two days ago I got an email telling me to bring my MBP in.
Two days later, I went into the Apple store to pick it up and voila it's actually quite amazing how they changed the key layout (I was very confused because of the Unibody design... and how that actually works with changing keyboard layouts). Here's the catch: They wanted to charge me 168 pounds (I'm guessing roughly $250). Which... obviously freaked me out. Thank God they waived it for me but seriously why would a Keyboard Layout cost so much?
I've had a Macbook for quite some time, and it just died a few days ago, so I got a new regular white Macbook.
The thing is that the new Macbook's got a different layout for the keys- the latin american one. Physically I mean. The keys look different, the symbols are all over the place and I'm having a seriously hard time using it.
Is there any way of changing the keys to the american ones? I still have my old notebook, so I can always change them by hand, but even so the white plastic thing around them has a different shape. Would that be a problem?
how do i change the keyboard settings on Mountain Lion with a single tap a give result aaaaaaaaaaa...at the moment i have to tap a a many times to get aaaaaaaaaa?
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), mountain lion osx
I try to change it to Command + D and it won't work. I've also tried to change it to other combinations and none work. Even when I untick the Look Up in Dictionary box, the original Command + Control + D still works.
I used the migration assistant to move most of my stuff from my old MBP to my new one, but that seems to have had the strange effect of keeping the keyboard settings for the old MBP. Very simply, I'd like to set f12 to increase volume, F11 to decrease etc. but I can't work out where I would change those settings. I've been able to change things like expose and dashboard, but this is proving to be a pain in the backside.
one thing im miss from windows are they keyboard shortcuts. i used to love using 'end' to reach the end of a sentence than the crtl and the right arrow key.Â
Is it possible to change the shortcut to cycle through windows in an open applications?
Right now the shortcut on my Danish MBP is CMD+< (the button right to the left shift button), but I would rather have it to be something like CMD+$ (button over the tap button).
OS X Lion, output: Cinema Display. Volume doesn't change by control keys on keyboard. But it does with software volume control (on iTunes, for example). When I press control buttons on keyboard, volume icon on display appears and changes - but not the volume. It lets me know that buttons are working, and Mac recognizes that.
I changed the language on my keyboard from english to spanish and now when i put in my password i cant login. Can i reset the language without logging on, back to an English keyboard? Is there a way to see my text as i tyipe so i know where my password is messing up?
I want to change the esc button to work with another keystroke. For example, I want to be able to press command >> delete and have the escape action work? It is like my own custom shortcut. How do I…
