In WIN7 environment I use Microsoft Publisher quite regularly, primarily as I have a need in a small business I run, to produce CD Covers....the small folded booklet inside a CD jewel case, and the back cover with the 2 foldup ends, to produce a CD's jacket and back cover. In a MAC world, I cant quickly find an APP that will do this. I spent a few bucks on Swift Publisher 2 but it has no CD cover templates.
The Staples store was unable to print my document flyer that I created in mac "Pages" that I saved on my flash drive. They said they couldn't convert it from mac and to go back and "save as" "publisher file." However, when I click file, save as does not come up as an option. How can I get my flyer printed?
I switched to a 27" iMac in November and have moved the majority of my work from my PC. I need a program or app similar to MS Publisher for a monthly newsletter.
For several years I have published a newsletter for the local Lions Club using Publisher. I currently have a partitioned hard drive with my Publisher and newsletter files on the Windows side of my MacBook Pro. I constantly run into frustrating problems trying to move photos, save files and print across platforms.
Is there a Mac program that would read my Publisher files so that I could work with my same template on the Mac side? Will Mac Office 2011 recognize Publisher files produced on the Windows side?
I have set up the imac with parallels and loaded xp pro and some software, one of which is Publisher from the Office 2003 suite. I have a HP 8550n colour laser printer attached to the imac via the parallel port on a port replicator and this prints fine when printing from the imac side of the story. When I go into parallels and xp pro and Publisher and create a document it simply wont print. There is only one printer attached to the imac at the moment, the document seems to leave the screen (as such) but it never gets to the printer.
I need to find a program that works just like Microsoft Publisher. I use it to make catalogs for some companies's websites I'm currently working on. What would be the best choice here? I need the program to export as PDF. I have the layout saved so if there's a way for me to convert it for OS X and work from there it would be good.
I have Mac Office 2008 on my iMac and have been emailed a letter attachment in Microsoft Publisher and I am at a loss how to read and use this document.
I went to Office Depot and asked the cashier, when purchasing, if it would work for Mac. She said "yeah." Well, I'm thinking I didn't get the right info.
So now I feel like I am stuck with this. I had bought it because I was needing to open some Publisher docs sent to me, and the free trials online didn't seem to work.
I have Microsoft publisher 2010, it seems like Mac can not open the DVD to run? Can you use Microsoft publisher on a Mac, if not what can I use to work in files I have created with Publisher?
I just purchased Swift Publisher 3 because I thought I could create address labels with it but I can not. Can I unpurchased the App and get my $19.99 back.I am looking my a way to way stickers with Avery labels. Does any one know if a Mac can do that and/or with what program?
I have a Late 2008 15 MBP (Purchased March 2009). The display does not always remain closed. It occasionally pops up itself. I have sent it to Apple store twice.
The first time I brought it to the store, the genius bar observed the problem and said it's caused by weak magnets. So my laptop was sent to repair center.
Five days later, I picked up the laptop from the store and found they did not fix the problem and two screws at the bottom of the machine were missing.
The paperwork says they replaced display assembly due to "Sleep Function Not Working". WTF
I then sent the laptop to the same store for repair. This time the genius bar made a note on my laptop so that the staff at repair center could handle the issue carefully.
Yesterday, got my laptop back from FedEX. The problem was still there!! The paperwork says they replaced display assembly again. But this time the they found my problem.
I am 70 miles away from the store and it is irritated to drive back and forth.
I called Apple Care for a resolution. They apologized and said the only thing they could offer is to send me a prepaid shipping box and have the laptop repaired again.!!!
Guys, should I send my laptop in for the third time?? Or is apple supposed to offer a replacement? Please, don't say I am greedy... I spent all my college savings for this laptop and this makes me frustrated.
Thanks for all the commnets and suggestions. you guys rock!!
OK, after the second repair, i talked to their senior advisor. He said he is confident that the repair center will fix it this time. When we asked him for a replacement, he said "give us another try. If this repair does not solve the problem, we can discuss other options."
Today, I got my machine back from FedEX and they replaced the display assembly again... I already told their advisor my speculation which is magnets. It has nothing to do with display frame since they have replaced it three times and none of them solves the problem.
I already called the advisor and left a message for him... Hopefully he will call me back soon.
This is not a major issue. Why it is so difficult for Apple to fix it?
I need a key replacement for my macbook pro 13 inch unibody. It is an early 2011 model. The key I need a replacement for is the period (.) key. It also has this, ">" symbol on the key.
Since I don't have any experience replacing the hard disk myself nor know anyone that can (otherwise I would definitely opt for an X-25M);
if I deliver my 13'' MBP to the apple store and ask for an SSD placement (currently having the 5400 RPM drive), will I get one of the newer SSDs that support TRIM in boot camp?
i bought a MBA rev:B 1,6ghz base model for 1699 Euros and apple told me now that they'll replace it with the new base model 1,86ghz with 120gb HD which costs 300 Euros less. that's like a 300 Euro rip off! i thought they would send me the new model for 1699€, since that is how much i paid for the base model in march.
I recently picked up a MacBook Air for a great price. The only problem is that it was dropped and has significant denting and disfiguring to the aluminum case that is behind the screen with the glowing Apple logo. I got a quote of $650 from the Apple store to send it out for repair. That is way beyond what I am willing to spend for cosmetic damage. I started searching and found the bottom of the case as well as the top of the case and keyboard but have had no luck finding a replacement for the backing of the screen. Dies anyone know where I can pick one up?
I am looking for a good quality replacement battery for my MBP. Battery model is a1281. There are literally hundreds available, but which ones are a good quality piece? Any info or links to the one you guys bought would be awesome. Also, is the original battery a 4600mAh or a 5200mAh? Ive seen both listed as the same a1281 battery.
As many of you may have experienced, my MBP disc drive has died. (Model of my laptop is MacBook Pro 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (15.4-inch)) It wont read anything, burn anything, just spins and spits discs back out. Was just wondering if anyone had any experience of putting a new drive in? I've found a load of info on upgrading hard drives but i can't find much on replacing the disk drives.
I have an A1260 that looks like it's undergoing the problems repaired by this program: [URL] However, I've had this thing apart, replaced the hard drive with an SSD, the optical drive bracket is very bent from when I replaced the optical drive, my display bezel is cracked in two places and held up with duct tape, and it generally looks like hell. Will they still repair the logic board despite all the other, ahem, modifications? I could probably put the original parts back in, but despite that it will be obvious I've taken it apart. It is and was out of warranty when I performed these. Should I take it to a retail store or just call Apple and ship it to them?
last Blackbook model - has a bunch of problems now including busted touchpad, crazy noisy fan etc... where's the best to start looking at replacement parts?
I noticed a drop in performance a couple of months ago in the MBP, but it's recently got a lot worse.
OS X is telling me it's ot issues, and I took to my nearest Apple Store a couple of months ago. However, I didn't know they'd need my MBP, I thought they could just test my battery, so I didn't get it replaced.
I bought the MBP over 1 year ago from an official reseller.
I've used programs to find out battery information, and I'm at half the cycles it should have before it starts to lose power, and it's health is low.
From your experience, will Apple replace it for free?
I'm looking to replace my stock 160gb 5400rpm drive with a 500gb drive 7200rpm. SSDs are just a bit too expensive at the moment. Looking around the Seagate Momentus XT seems to come top of all the reviews until you research a little more and find that there seem to have been loads of issues with them, esp on macs.
I have a Rev. A 1.83ghz MacBook which my partner uses. In the last six months we have had an increasing number of problems with it. First, there were the intermittent sleep problems: delay going to sleep, failing to wake. Then it killed three batteries consecutively before Apple replaced the sleep switch and power connector unit (thank heavens for AppleCare). That was back in July. Now the same problem has recurred: the battery is dead and fails to accept charge. Got a call from Apple yesterday to say that they've switched out the logic board and that the item is ready to collect.
We have eight months left on the AppleCare and what I want to know is: 1) What exactly can we expect from a logic board replacement? Do Apple really have a stockpile of 1.83ghz logic board's floating around in case someone needs a replacement or is there any chance of a processor upgrade with this repair?.............
Sorta found this forum out of sheer luck but it looks like a good place to kill a couple of years off my life
Im looking for a replacement screw for the left side of a MBP A1150, [URL] sells a screw kit for around 50bucks but all I need is 1 screw and wondering if their is a cheaper alternative
