What Mac program is similar to MS Publisher?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have set up the imac with parallels and loaded xp pro and some software, one of which is Publisher from the Office 2003 suite. I have a HP 8550n colour laser printer attached to the imac via the parallel port on a port replicator and this prints fine when printing from the imac side of the story. When I go into parallels and xp pro and Publisher and create a document it simply wont print. There is only one printer attached to the imac at the moment, the document seems to leave the screen (as such) but it never gets to the printer.

What would be the best choice here? I need the program to export as PDF. I have the layout saved so if there's a way for me to convert it for OS X and work from there it would be good.

My Tdisk failed and was replaced under AppleCare. I then restored from my Time Machine Backup. I used the (Command R Power keys to initiate this). It completed without errors (eventually). All Apps that I tried seemed to have been recovered successfully except when I attempted toload my MS Office for MAC Apps, I was asked for my product key.Unfortunately this was saved in an email on my system and I cannot retrieve it since I cannot open my MS Outlook.

In WIN7 environment I use Microsoft Publisher quite regularly, primarily as I have a need in a small business I run, to produce CD Covers....the small folded booklet inside a CD jewel case, and the back cover with the 2 foldup ends, to produce a CD's jacket and back cover. In a MAC world, I cant quickly find an APP that will do this. I spent a few bucks on Swift Publisher 2 but it has no CD cover templates.

Does anybody know when Microsoft plans on releasing a newer version of Microsoft Office for Mac? One of my co-workers currently own the 2008 version and he's really unhappy with it. He has an excel file that's around 4MB in filesize, containing some 11,000 rows and a bunch of columns too and it's really slow to work with (he has a 1 year old MacBook Pro) and some times excel also "runs out of memory" it says and the application just freezes. It should be updated properly etc, but I wonder if maybe a newer version more suited for Snow Leopard, might be released soon?
