Each time I have my MacBook Pro up and running, with my Apple Mail app running and I connect via FaceTime to someone, the mail program starts making tons of nosie as if it's sending and receiving mail over and over and over and over again. I have a 2/2011 MBP 15" maxed out.

Is there a fix to this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever an application uses the internet, such as Opera, Safari or aMSNn the speakers create a static, crackling sound thats incredibly annoying. The only way to get rid of it is to shut down the app that makes it (usually aMSN or Safari) but it may start again soon. It must be an issue wtih the speakers as it doesn't have any effect on headphones.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis has been driving me nuts for a few months now. My macbook keeps emitting a sound very much like static. Only today, I realized that this sound goes away when the processor is working. So if I scroll down in Safari, open a New Folder, etc, the sound briefly pauses before resuming again. Almost sounds like a refrigerator. It bugs me a lot lot. Anybody else having this issue? Or has Apple been able to fix this for anyone?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI connected my MacBook Pro to my TV (non-HD) using a 3.5 to L/R composite for audio (from headset hole) and an Apple DVI to S-Video/composite for video. I'm using the S-video part of the adapter. I get good sound out of both channels, but when I connect the S-video cable, I immediately get static feedback from the stereo speakers (the L/R composites are connected directly into my stereo receiver and the S-video goes into my TV).
The video quality is fine when it's connected...
I know this question or thread has been asked a lot, but I started noticing yesterday that my mbp has been making this weird ticking sound. It was a light clicking sound, and it happened on and off. However, it was bothering me so I went to best buy (where I bought my macbook) and told them about it; they said they couldn't do anything for me because it probably wasn't my hard drive. They told me to wait until my computer slows down and then bring it in. But today the sound got worse, it sounds like white noise from the tv or some static from a really bad connection. It usually happens when I turn it on and while I'm using it. Some of my friends think it's over-heating but I doubt that's the case?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro MC666ll/a. It is a core i7 15" with the AG screen. The issue I am experiencing is a random static noise coming from my speakers every now and then. If i have external speakers plugged in then the sound comes from the external speakers. Is this normal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThere is a loud and really annoying humming & static noise when I connect my charger to my MBP. The humming only comes out of the headphones jack, and not the MBP speakers. This really cripples me in my work as I am a music producer.

My brand new MBP 13" (Mid 2009) makes a high pitched whiny sound that appears to come from the upper left corner ( where the MagSafe connector is). It is not caused by the display because even when I turn it off (the display) the sound is still there. It goes away when I turn off the computer, tougth. Also it's not caused by the MagSafe because when I disconnect it the noise doesn't stop. I have used gogle and the forum search and found people with the same problem. Those people could fix it by starting photobooth. Same works for me. So I guess it's the processor. What I want to know is: is this normal? Because most of the other people who I found who have this problem had a 2006 MBP not a 2009 like me.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had some issues with my macbook pro lately: A few weeks ago, my Macbook started freezing and making alarm sounds. I didn't do anything about it because it happened only a few times per week.
Suddenly it happened 4 or 5 times in a row, and after x times my Macbook wouldn't go past the grey start-up screen (Apple logo loading). So I was unable to login. I solved the ''issue'' by erasing the disk. My Macbook worked again, but all data was gone. The freezing issue was gone as well. But 2 days ago, it started.. again. And today, my Macbook suddenly crashed/shut down. Now, I am not even able to start my macbook. It doesn't show anything, if I press the power button, nothing happens.
I did a SMC reset, and my Macbook worked, but only for 15 minutes. It just happened again. Something is clearly wrong and I don't know what. my Macbook instanly freezed when I connected the power cord. And I think the power cord is broken, last few days it barely charged the Macbook.
My macbook air, OSX version 10.9.4; just started making a whirring, mechanical sound. What that is?

I used to have 160GB 5400 HDD until today's morning. Now there's WD Scorpio BLue 500GB installed in my MBP. And I can hear some silent noise, coming from that HDD. I mean my previous, low-capacity 160GB Hitachi was just silent (no noise at all!!) Is there anything, that can be done about it? I mean if I had known, I should've gone for 7200.4 500GB Momentus! I still hope there are some tweaks, that can silent my HDD, Are there?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Powerbook has been making a static-y sound from the back of it at random times. It sometimes won't do it all day, and then it will randomly start, and won't go away for a while. It's actually doing it right now! I've tried putting it to sleep for a few minutes, but it started back up again when i woke it up. There, it just stopped again! It can last from a few minutes to an hour, completely randomly! This problem started when I had Apple replace the logic board on the Powerbook a few months back, and numerous repairs later, nothing has changed, so I'm hoping someone here has an easy fix!
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy mac has worked great for the last 2 years since ive owned it and it just started to act a lil differently about 2 weeks ago. I started to notice that it started to act a lil slower than normal when i was surfing the internet. Then a couple of days ago the computer started making like a buzzing noise , kinda sounds like interference . Like when a cell phone gets close to a stereo system. Sometimes the noise will go away and then when i start opening diff app. that use computer cpu the noise happens again. It was just making the noise and i was dealing with it until the computer started to crash. It would look like the screen was on fire and everything would just freeze. Do you guys think it is the hardrive ?????? and if it was what would be my best option for fixing this. Can i save the stuff that is on my current drive ?? I have a bunch of stuff that is very important on this hardrive.
whats the best place to buy a hardrive if i need one ? and can i buy a hardrive that can hold more than the stock 74.53 toshiba MK8025GAS ?
So I have an old imac running OSX 10.3.9 and recently it started making a whoosh sound randomly at will. It sounds like a whiffle ball bat missing the ball. Also for no apparent reason it started saying "you have logged in" every time I wake it up. Any clue how to make these annoying sounds go away and or what may have started them?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was just downstairs in my basement using my macbook and I decided to come upstairs and when I got up here I noticed that my fan is making a weird buzzing noise. I can tell it is my fan because when I make the fans spin faster in smcfancontrol the noise gets louder. Could this be something that is in the fan or could this be a more serious problem? I can take the back case off and check but I just wanted to know if this could be a serious problem with the fan. Is there any chance I could have bent something by carrying it wrong?

My MacBook Pro just started to making a clicking/ticking noise. I am assuming that it has something to do with the fan because when I shut my computer down, the noise stops, but once I start my computer back it, it starts once again.

My macbook pro was on while I was sleping and I think the power got disconnected and it shut off on its own. I woke up to it making this ping noise every 20 -30 seconds.

The computer works fine I've tried to turn it back on and off and it works ok.
I'll be using the Air and all of a sudden there will be static or electrical buzzing coming out of the right speaker on my 13" MacBook Air. It's about 16 months old.

Very occasionally the screen on my iMac (early 08 24") goes blank and it makes an incredibly loud static sound that's independent of the volume control setting. The power then needs disconnecting to restart the machine. Haven't been able to tie it to any specific program. Apple Care asked I leave it on logged in on a new user account (at the time I originally thought it only happened in sleep mode, but have since discovered this is not the case).
It's happened maybe 3 or 4 times in the same number of months. I've only found one similar case on the net, with someone suggesting it was Safari 4 beta, which I've found not to be the case with mine. It's on extended warranty. I think there's something seriously wrong with it (it's already had the hard drive and power supply replaced).
I have had my MBA for almost a week, and I've had no issues so far. Until now. This is the case: The fan operates as it should. It stays on 2500 rpm at light use, and increases with heavier use. At 2500 rpm I was not able to hear it without putting my ear next to the keyboard. That was yesterday. Today the fan produces a new noise. It isn't very loud, but clearly audible at 2500 rpm in a quiet environment. It's a low, constant, buzzing kind of noise. It also increases with fan speed.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMaybe, I did not notice this earlier, but I notice that hard drive is pretty quite but every 10-15 secs, it almost has this faint click noise. Is anyone else experiencing that? Its not that loud, but loud enough to hear if you are in a quiet room or library.
Seems like a click noise every 10-15 secs even when hard drive is idle

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 13" MacBook Pro from Mid-2009 and just today I've noticed a real faint clicking noise coming from the fan. It almost sounds like that noise a bike makes when you put a baseball card against its wheel. It's not very loud, but when I'm working in a silent room, it's been pretty annoying. I opened the back and blew all the dust out and all that, but the problem seems to only have got worse since then. The fan is still spinning at its usual 2000rpm.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I started up my MacBook Pro that I've only had for about 9 months. I immediately noticed that there was a barely audible buzzing / humming sound coming the inside of the laptop, most likely in the fans. I don't know how long this has been going on, and I really don't know the cause of it. So is this something I should be worried about (the sound is barely audible)? Or is this something that happens after prolonged use of the laptop?
