View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 2009 MacBook Pro that keeps telling me that I can't sign into iCloud at this time. I know my email and password are correct, and I have OS X Lion 10.7.4. It worked to put iCloud on my iPhone and iPad.

I decided to test out the IMessage app on my laptop, but when i try to sign into it using my Apple I.D it says that “Your Apple I.D XXX can’t be used to set up an account right now” and then tells me to contact iMessage Support, I can’t call Apple Care because my warranty is up and i’ve tried everything i can think of. It’s the correct I.D and password. When the message pops up and i click contact support - it sends me to a page with a verification code and says they dont have enough info to set up an account.

So I keep getting a prohibited sign when I boot up my MacBook pro running Snow
I read it was because a file was corrupted and I need to reinstall Snow Leopard
Well, I inster my Snow Leopard start disk, and hold down C when I hear the chime
I hold it down, I hear the disk in the drive boot up, spin fast, Apple has the progress wheel under it but nothing happens.
So, when I start up my Macbook mid-2010, I log in first, and after 30 seconds the stop sign comes up. I am able to log in as a guest user.
When I load up the install disc of Snow Leopard and choose for Disk Utility, I can see the disk, but it sais it is not mounted? When I click on 'mount', it doesn't respond. see the following screenshot for more info:
I'm currently running OSX 10.7.32.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 I currently had some other problems with my mac, see this thread: [URL] Also it might be interesting that I had bootcamped my Mac, but since a couple of days I deleted the partition using the bootcamp utility.

I had my photo taken during the setup which came out a little fuzzy. Have been trying to replace it now that I am using it but could'nt find the way to do it. Have already installed album photos where I can select one to replace this. This photo appears during sign in to the notebook. Also, since I have a 4 peripherals to use and there are only two USB ports, can I attach a hub to have all four attached. They consist of 1 Wireless mouse, 1 printer and 2 external HD.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow do I get a new Administrator password for my computer?I was trying to change the password on my computer. I have done this before under "System Preferences", then "Security and Privacy". So I entered my old password, and then entered the new one...twice as always and THEN I don't know what I did, but a window popped up that I didn't finish reading completely because as I was in a hurry I accidentally hit 'enter' and that did something.. now my computer does not accept my password. I've tried both the old and new one.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an old MacBook (not sure how old - it was a handed down to me by a friend). It was working fine until this past week. I downloaded a Yosemite update and One Drive and now it won't start!
Basically, when I power up it displays a 'No Entry' sign, spends around 20 minutes on the Apple logo and the 'creeping' progress bar, and then when it gets to the end opens OS X Utilities. I am trying to get in contact with Apple Support but I cannot do this without the serial number, which I cannot seem to locate in OS X Utility.

Just find out that I am unable to type the "minus"sign on the keyboard no matter what I do, i guess there is some that blocks me to type this sign. However, I can type any other signs. Do you know what is happening?

I've had my refurb rev a for a week now. I absolutely love the form factor and it has really impressed me with what it can do. (My last computer was the 1.67 Powerbook G4 with 1 gig of ram.) However the battery life concerns me. When I got the air it had 4 cycles and 97% health. 10 days later i have 15 cycles and 93% health. I'm not concerned about the cycles, but should the health be declining this fast? If not what can I do to increase it? I've tried calibrating it and it really didn't change anything.

I have checked Software Update, and there was two updates. First one was Java and the other one was EFI Update 2.7. I don't remember the Java update version. After I applied the update, the MBP rebooted itself as it should do; but the problem occurred at that reboot. OSX tried to start up three times, like as it was failing to install the updates after reboot. And at the fourth time, after a few minutes the Apple logo turned into a "No Entry Sign".
And it stuck like that. Now, the MBP cannot boot normally, I can only run it on safe mode.I have reset PRAM.As far as I read about the issue over the boards, the problem occurs to be an HDD problem. Yet I can run the OSX in safe mode, which bugs me. So I downloaded SMART Utility to check the HDD. It says there is 1 Pending Bad Sector, and 1 Removed Bad Sector.
