I have an iPhone 4 and am strongly considering buying the MB Air 11.6in. I'd like to get an external battery that I could use for long flights, that in a pinch, could be used with either the iPhone or the MBA.

This should give 4.5 times the normal operating time. Should be possible to watch demanding movies for about 7 hours, or do less demanding things for 18 hours.
I'm not sure if the voltage is too high or within limits. The Air magsafe seems to output 14.5 volts.
The Apple one looks tempting as it comes with 6 batteries and 29€ isn't too much, plus, as usual, it looks brilliant. I looked at some 3rd party chargers as well ranging from 20€ to 40€. None of them was stunning or special by any means. Cheaper ones usually came with two or four batteries and some came without batteries. I don't really need it for else than Magic Mouse, occasionally for something else too.
View 23 Replies View RelatedI have an early 2008 non-unibody MacBook Pro. For about a year now, the status of the battery has been "replace soon." I was still getting a pretty good amount of time off of one charge so I wasn't too worried. This past Saturday morning, I woke up, checked the battery indicator lights on my computer (it had been sleeping since the day before) and it said it had about 60% percent so I opened it. I was on the Internet for about 10 minutes before it shut off without warning.
It wouldn't turn back on when I pressed the power button, so I plugged it in and it turned back on. When I checked, the battery status was "replace now." After using it, I turned it back off and left for NYC for the weekend and didn't bring it with me. When I got home last night, I plugged it in and tried turning it on with no luck. The battery indicator light was flashing one light, so I just assumed it would need to charge for a bit before it would turn back on. After about two hours, when I went to bed, it still was flashing just one light. I kept it plugged in over night, and this morning when I checked it, the battery indicator lights showed that it was fully charged, but it still wouldn't turn on. I still kept it plugged in throughout the day just in case, but it still won't turn on even though all the lights are lit. Is the battery just showing me false information, or should I be worried about more than just the battery?

I recently had issues regarding my display (June 2009 MBP 17") not dimming as the ambient lighting changed. The issue was only recent. I reset the SMC, and that has appeared to fix it.
However, I've noticed that the battery indicator lights do not fade after 5 seconds anymore and just turn straight off when the computer is open and on. When shut down or asleep, they behave as normal.
I reset the SMC again to ty and fix this but there was no change.
Now, I could be wrong, and maybe that's how it always was, but I do remember them fading no matter whether the computer was active or off.
Can anyone confirm this and if so, provide any possible fixes?
It's not a huge issue, just a minor annoyance now that I'm aware of it.
anybody else have this problem? just got it in the mail today, everything is perfect except that the lights on the left side are not working. i don't know if there is a setting i have to turn on or something.

My MacBook keeps saying my battery is not charging. If I press the button on my battery, all five green indicator lights come on, as if the battery is fully charged. When unplug the MacBook's power cord, the computer goes dead. This is a 2.4 Penryn black MacBook.

View 4 Replies View Related purchased a macbook Unibody back in October 2008 when they were released and use it heavily. The battery no longer holds a nice long charge - I get about 2 to 2.5 hours out of a full charge.
The battery has 149 cycles on it, which is obviously high (and correct, I use the hell out of it). With it still being in warranty, is it worth pursuing a replacement battery? Will Apple tell me to go take a hike with the high cycle counts?
My macbook pro 13" Mid 2010 model will simply not turn on! I tried does SMC and PRAM but still no results. The Macbook gives me 3 green blinking lights on the battery indicator and nothing else. I already tried switching the ram for a dead or faulty ram but still nothing. Also the power adapter doesn't seem to want to work. So my battery in my Macbook has become victim to the infamous battery bulging I immediatly took the battery out as soon as i realized it was bulging but i have two questions:
1. Will Apple replace the battery?
2. Is it bad for my macbook to run it off the charger with no battery in it? I'm pretty sure it's not but just wanna make sure.

I've got a 17" MBP which I use each day on the commute from home to work. But by midday the battery is prett y flat. I don't work out of a single office so i can't really charge my battery up, so I've bought a spare. On the way home, swap out the battery and get working again. But the problem is charging them both up at home.
Does anyone know of an external battery charger for the MBP 17" batteries?

im just curious (and maybe a slight bit worried) about how long my macbook air should last on a full battery. it seems like it gets less and less all the time. its not my primarily used cmputer (i use my iMac mostly) but i still use my MBA most days whether it be in bed or on my travels to friends' houses etc.
when i do use it ive usually got a socket handy so its always charging and when its in the house not being used, its pretty much always on charge which means the battery running out isnt a big deal but the few times i actually don't have the MBA on charge it seems to run out pretty quickly. i do tend to run a lot of programs, however.
How long does your MBP battery last when your doing ur stuff like internet, gaming etc etc. and your brightness of ur screen, wifi turned on etc?
View 6 Replies View Relatedi'm sure there are many people who use spare batteries like me. but how do you manage them though? i find it very annoying having to charge them one by one. charging 1 battery takes a few hours, which is almost fine. but when you have a spare battery, it takes twice as much longer to charge them both. not fun. a separate battery charger will help greatly reducing charging time

how long you have to actually get it plugged in?
I had the white model from 2006 and it lasted around 3 hours.
My Aluminum MacBook lasts 4.5 to 5 hours, depending on if I watch video
It lasts 2.5 to 3 if I'm watching or editing video
