office got broken into and my charger to my macbook got stolen, but I had my laptop on me so that did not. I need a new battery anyway but does anyone know where I can find a good deal on getting both of these accessories instead of going to best
View 1 RepliesThe Apple one looks tempting as it comes with 6 batteries and 29€ isn't too much, plus, as usual, it looks brilliant. I looked at some 3rd party chargers as well ranging from 20€ to 40€. None of them was stunning or special by any means. Cheaper ones usually came with two or four batteries and some came without batteries. I don't really need it for else than Magic Mouse, occasionally for something else too.

1. Will Apple replace the battery?
2. Is it bad for my macbook to run it off the charger with no battery in it? I'm pretty sure it's not but just wanna make sure.
I have a 13" 2.4 GHZ white macbook that I bought in march of 2008. About 4 months ago I all of the sudden started having problems with battery life. It was very abrupt. I used to be able to take my macbook and sit through 3 classes or more with no trouble in regards to batter life. Then suddenly the battery would drain within a few hours. It has remained that way since.
I've spent the last month or so looking around forums and other places to try and find someone with a similar problem and possible solutions. As a result I've discovered that my situation seams to be somewhat unique.
Using cocoanut battery I tested my battery's capacity and it remains at a solid 98%. How can my battery still be at 98% capacity and have such a short battery life? I also seam to be losing charge while my macbook is closed. How and why does that happen? If I leave my macbook closed for a day or two it can lose up to 25% charge just sitting there!
I've tried loads of things including turning off unnecessary things such as sharing and bluetooth and calibrating my battery, all with no avail.
What is going on?? My battery is too old to be eligable for a recal and I'm not paying $30 just to have a phone conversation with a "Genius". If anyone has any idea what's going on and any possible advice, I would greatly appreciate it.
I've got a 17" MBP which I use each day on the commute from home to work. But by midday the battery is prett y flat. I don't work out of a single office so i can't really charge my battery up, so I've bought a spare. On the way home, swap out the battery and get working again. But the problem is charging them both up at home.
Does anyone know of an external battery charger for the MBP 17" batteries?

View 8 Replies View Relatedi'm sure there are many people who use spare batteries like me. but how do you manage them though? i find it very annoying having to charge them one by one. charging 1 battery takes a few hours, which is almost fine. but when you have a spare battery, it takes twice as much longer to charge them both. not fun. a separate battery charger will help greatly reducing charging time

Was working fine the first couple of times but has only been used about three times and is kept nice and safely out of the way of a boisterous toddler so no chance of any damage. Any info or links to the one you guys bought would be awesome. Also, is the original battery a 4600mAh or a 5200mAh? Ive seen both listed as the same a1281 battery.

I understand that Steve Jobs advised that they were using a better way to measure battery life for the Air that reflect real world usage better (WiFi Browsing I think?) so how does this compare to the MBP range? I guess the MBP battery claims were made using another older method, so any thoughts on how the Air's battery life compares to other PC's and Mac's?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just read how to calibrate your battery, and I found out that I've been calibrating my new MBP 13" battery pretty much every day (unintended). I've been using it quite heavily since I got it last week... charging it fully, and reconnecting it to the charger whenever the battery hits somewhere around 10%.. Is this good or bad ? Should I charge it whenever it hits 50% instead ?
Apple says we are supposed to calibrate it once a month. Is it bad if you do it more often ? Any thoughts on this ?

my macbook came with that replacement cord to extend the charger but an outlet fried it...now im back to the little stub to plug into walls...but its hardly long enough for anything...is there a place that sells just the extension? anyone have one at home theyre not using that they wanna get rid of?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got my first Mac last Sunday (woo!) but I was using it last night and a battery warning came up. I had been using the MBP, then turned it off and went out with battery still remaining. When I came back again a few hours later I used the Mac and after about 10 mins closed the lid for some reason. When I opened it back up it wouldn't start unless I plugged in the power outlet - the thing had completely drained. Then I checked the battery and it says to 'Service Battery'. It's now holding a charge as normal as far as I can see but the warning is still there.
A couple of other things I notice too:
- When I tilt the MBP to the right sometimes a scraping noise comes from the inside - maybe from a fan?
- When I pick it up from the bottom, the bottom of the Mac dips inwards slightly and there is a click as it makes contact with something on the inside of the case.
Are these things normal? I've made a Genius Bar reservation but I think I might just swap it for a new one.
I am having a Power/Battery problem with a Macbook (surprise surprise!). This Macbook is the first generation, early 2006 model. It is a 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, black. This Macbook will not charge a battery, any of the 4 Macbook batteries I have tried. However, it will recognize each battery I put in (using About this Mac), and it will run on battery power when not connected to AC power. The charger light is always a very faint green light (same for both 65 and 85W chargers). Occasionally it will shine the bright green (normal) for a moment, but quickly dulls to the very faint green light.
Last night I tried swapping out the internal battery connector that I know is right for this macbook. After the installation, when I started it for the first time, the light on the charger appeared orange for the first time. I waited to see if the "charging" lights on the known-good battery would light up, but they never did. Eventually the charger returned to the same faint green color. Has anyone seen this before? From what I can tell the only parts remaining that could be the problem are the internal Magsafe connector and the logic board itself.
I have Mac pro about two months old. I am having problem with my Mac pro When I remove the betray charger, system running very slow and when I cannot charger it will run normal. I believe there is some problem please help me to fixed this I would like to give more details about my macbook pro. I am looking to buy a replacement battery for my 17inch Macbook Pro. It has become a victim of the swollen battery and I have had no luck with getting a swap, since the program closed. Anyone know of a good site?
Also on a side note, I noticed since I removed my battery HD videos on youtube and my HDD. Kinda lag now. I just put the battery back in briefly and the programs gone away. What is that about?
I have a 3 1/2 year old Macbook, my Applecare has ran out. About six months ago my computer began shutting off immediately when unplugged. (Was letting my roomates use the computer, came home one day and it started doing this.) I believe that my battery is OK, it performs between 97% and 99% consistently. When I do the battery test, all of the lights light up.
I've read through the forums and it seems a lot of people are having this problem, but their batteries are bad. What are some options/solutions to this problem? I am willing to invest money wisely into the computer to keep it running smoothly for a while.
