Dec 4, 2007Complete with music and transitions? Is this something that iDVD can do? I need it for a mates birthday party and was going to play a slideshow of him growing up, no one there will have a Mac and I'm not taking mine, so was wondering how I can get the slideshow on a dvd... complete with transitions and music.

Nov 30, 2010I want it to look exactly like it does on iphoto. I read somewhere they said to share it with idvd, but it does not look the same. Everything is different from the music to the way the pictures are changed and the timing. Is there a way I can burn it from iphoto (the slide show) to a dvd? If not why is it not the same on idvd?

Jun 5, 2007I've been trying to burn a DVD from iPhoto's slideshow.
From reading a thread here, I export the Slideshow to iMovie. Which is made into a .mov flie. Then I add some stuff and edited the movie under iMovie. But then I couldn't find a way to burn it unto a non-computer playable format. So I export it from iMovie to iDVD.
So far seems alright.... ready to burn the DVD and all..... but here's the problem:-
1) The oginal photos are around 500MB, after I made it into .mov file... it's like 800MB. After I edited it under iMovie (Just some extra text and all) it became a whopping 9.5GB!!! Too large even for a blank DVD...Have I done anything wrong?
2) Picture quality on iPhoto was excellent.. but when made into .mov the quality was awful...... Anyway to improve the quality?

Oct 29, 2010I'm trying to connect my MacBook to my tv to play a slideshow in iPhoto. I've got just a regular old MacBook and got a mini-DVI to video adapter, as well as a male-male s-video cable to connect the computer to the tv. It gets all connected and on the tv I go to the setting to view it and all I get on the tv screen is the blank desktop, no icons or anything. The only thing that will show up on the tv from the computer is when I go to the display preferences to change the resolution setting. Now, I know the resolution of the computer doesn't totally match that of the tv but past that and the fact that I have them physically connected right now... Why isn't anything from the computer showing up on the tv??

Applications :: Unable To Burn Videos Via Toast / Burn Files From A Network?
Sep 17, 2010It is supposed to be the best burning package on mac. But I doubt it. I convert videos to dvd-video format using the absolutely brilliant windows7 application convertxtodvd. Please dont tell me to use a mac application instead of it. I tried it many times, there were always several problems(slow speed, subs etc). This is not the case here.
So, I want these dvd-videos in Video_ts format, to be burned in dvd disks using toast. It is supposed that video_ts folder are a standard folder, no matter the system you use. But toast has a different opinion. When I drag the folder in the dvd-video window, it asks to re-encode the video!!!If I try to burn this video_ts folder in windows machine using 'nero', no problem at all, straight burning! I really cannot understand why this happens.
Another problem I have is that the files I want toast to burn, usually reside to network computer. Is there any way to burn files from a network computer(win) using toast? Can toast access network or not? If not, I have to manually copy files to local disk, several minutes spent for copying gigabytes just to be able to burn them.

I created a folder and placed the photos in ascending order by name.I then reversed the order and saved it in a new folder.I created an album from this folder and the pictures appeared in ascending order.I reversed these and created a slideshow which the pictures again appeared in ascending order and I cannot reverse them.There are 250 photos and changing them manually does not sound fun.

Mar 22, 2012I am trying to export a 10 minute slideshow that i have created on iPhoto.I am trying to put this onto a memory stick as it is being projected onto a wall in a performance i am doing.At the moment it is telling me that there is not enough room on my memory stick, altough there is a lot of free space so does this mean the slideshow has to be compressed?Also i am exporting it onto my desktop and its taking a really long time is this normal?

I've been trying to burn on to dual layer disk i.e 8.5 GB.Video_TS foldeer is 7 GBIf I chose the DATA TAB tell Burn to create a "DVD-video disk" I get a disk that my computer can play in the DVD App that functions like a DVD, BUT my stand alone DVD player won't recognise it. (tells me its a DATA disk).

Jun 4, 2008Have a free to distribute educational DVD (preparation for a test) that I need to make a copy of for a friend. Downloaded MacTheRipper and copy the DVD. Next I downloaded a freeware program called Burn that looks simple and is all I need. However I when I try to burn I get an error "Failed: There was a problem authoring the DVD" Also I tried to use the burn to a data DVD mode and it wrote the data to the DVD (you can physically see it's there) but when it got to finalize I got the same error message and you can't read the DVD contents. I have a new Mac Pro running 10.5.3 and the DVD drive is OEM PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D.

Dec 25, 2009I used Handbrake to rip encode the dvd to mp4. Now I want to burn it to a DVD for a cheap backup.

I keep getting an error saying the data I'm trying to burn is over 4 gb's and too big for my blank disc. How's that possible?
Shouldn't I be able to burn the mp4 to a dvd easily in iDVD?

Jun 8, 2012New to iMac, just trying to do something I could do on the PC without any trouble. Can't seem to get the burn folder to burn to a new CD-R. Can't seem to get the iMac to recogmize that there is a CD in the drive.
Have tried more than one CD. It does eject, but stalled out on the transfer.
I miss my PC. this has taken an hour for something that should be--well--easy.

Nov 23, 2010I need to make a slideshow with a ton of impact, I have about 80 images and and what we have now is very basic, check it out .its way too slow for the amount of pictures takes an eternity to get through.We found this slideshow on the net.its very effective and you can see our pictures in a minimal amount of time. Only problem is i have no idea how to replicate this effect, I was thinking maybe premier pro but have had a look and cant get anywhere close to it.

In iPhoto 09 I've created an album of images I would like to use as a slideshow and send that slideshow to iDVD. So, I select all the images, press the slideshow Play button and the slideshow plays. I can change the theme etc, but can't see a way to save this or share to iDVD whilst retaining the slideshow settings.
Am I being really really stupid or is the Slideshow in iPhoto 09 a "view only" from within iPhoto and can't be saved and exported?
I think it may have been possible in 08 but I'm not sure.
Ultimately I want to create 3 x different Slideshows using 3 of the new 09 themes and send them to iDVD, but can see how to save/export/share the slideshow whilst retaining the settings I choose.
