I realised that when streaming BBC News from: [URL] . I my Macbook Air Late 2010 the image flicks. I updated all software (both mac os and flash player). Then, I went to the local Apple Store and same problem in every single machine. Though everything is fine in my girlfriend's Macbook Pro 13 inch!
View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 MBPro 15" As of the last few days, the bottom 3/4 of my screen is separated from the top 1/4 by a black or white (changes) row of pixels, and the bottom 3/4 of the screen shakes up and down a bit. It started a month ago, one afternoon, but it resolved itself after a few minutes. Now it does it continuously. Shutting down and restarting does not work.
It seems to do this less when a webpage is loading, but as soon as it's loading, it starts up again. The top 1/4 remains normal.

What harm could be caused when slamming hands or fists against the table ur macbook pro is sitting on. Can the tremors/rumble cause any internal harm? Like loosening of hardware pieces or anything?

Notifications in System Preferences does not have an option for Breaking Apple News.

When scrolling through a project, it is not very smooth. If I scroll to the right, it will go to the right, then kinda fling back a bit. So scrolling is very jerky if you understand what I mean?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI came home and found an eMac on my back porch, came from my moms friend apparently. so i plugged it in and turned it on and i was playing on it for a while but safari would just repeatedly crash after loading the home page, so i restarted it and it seemed to fix the problem, me and my friend then took the casing off and replaced the cd drive because it was jammed. it started up just fine after that but after the next restart the screen seemed to be "shaking". it was jumping left to right. so i powered it off and started it up again. this time it did the same thing but it was more vigorous and the screen was flashing from normal to a dark purple tint. then it went really dark purple, the screen shut off, then the whole computer shut itself off. now only after leaving it unplugged for at least 30 seconds the first or second push of the power button will "twitch" the fan and the CRT sounds like its trying to come on, but i only get the CRT sound and the fan maybe doing at most a quarter turn before it stops. the only changes made was a new cd drive and a second RAM card. i tried it by pulling out the added ram card and still nothing. then tried with the cd drive IDE cable removed and still nothing.

Sometimes when I open apps and shake my mouse it comes back. I also usually use expose to start my screen saver and then shake the mouse to turn it off.

However, over the last few weeks every time a new article arrives, at least one month of deleted articles also appear. For example, I opened Mail tonight and the RSS feed had one new article, plus a load of old deleted articles dating back to September. In RSS Preferences I have "Remove articles after one day" selected.

Safari used to let me drag an image from a webpage to the finder and have the dragged file be saved as an actual image but now all that's saved is a webloc file. I want the image saved, not a reference to the image's URL - do I now have to always use "save as" to save it?
I can understand Safari creating a webloc file if I dragged the site icon from the location bar to the finder, but to make the default behavior for dragging things that are parts of a page (not the page itself) as webloc files seems like a HUGE step backwards for usability.
Does anyone know if there's, say, a key to hold when dragging to avoid saving a webloc file or a defaults command or something to make Safari revert back to sane draging behavior?

One software says I cannot upload an image because the image or the container folder does not have permission. Indeed there is one "unknown" in permissions, that I cannot get to a read write no matter how hard I try -- both on the folder, the desktop, and the file (this is all on my laptop) I've done a repair permission.

When a user copies an image from a browser into PowerPoint 2011 he gets text of a link back to the image, not the image itself. But if he copies from a browser into Word he gets the image, and can then copy the image from Word to PowerPoint. Same results with both Firefox and Safari. Behavior is new so I assume it relates to recent software updates but user does not recall accepting any.

I have my PowerBook G4 connected to a Hitachi video projector, using a DVI to VGA adapter.
The problem is that the only projected image I can see is that of my Desktop image. It doesn't display the Dock, menus or any windows.
What settings do I need to change?
I recently right clicked a picture to set it as my desktop picture but didn't have the foresight to save the picture in case I wanted to change it later. I still have the picture up but I cannot find where the picture is stored so I can save it for later. I checked HD/Library/desktop pictures but no luck. Does anyone know where these pictures are saved?

Is there a way to make a Fusion VM from this image? If not, how do I go about creating a VM from my laptops's HD? I'm using Fusion 2.6.

1. Rename diskimage.cdr to diskimage.iso
Or
2. hdiutil makehybrid -iso -joliet -o diskimage.iso diskimage.cdr
The first method is really quick while the second method takes quite a long time. Do the two methods yield the same ISO file? In particular, I would like to convert a bootable CDR disk image to an ISO disk image.
I need a transparent hand print (different colors also) for a project. I've gotten a hand print and used a guide to try and make it transparent using Gimp but I can never export it.
I just need a simple program (I have Paintbrush, Gimp, etc) in order to make things transparent!
On my MacBook I would like to burn a iso image to a cd. I dont think my burner burns DVDs so I am wondering if I can burn it to a CDR and if it will still work when I try to install?
P.S. I attached a screen shot of the type of burner I have =)
I used to be able to burn an iso image from the context menu by clicking on 'Burn "*" to Disc...', inserting a disc and let it burn. Now when I try to burn an iso image by using the context menu a box pops up saying 'Are you sure you want to burn the contents of "Untitled Disc" to a disc'. If I click yes, it burns the iso image as a file onto the disc.
