Applications :: I Can't Login With Any Online Messenger?
Apr 13, 2010Since today, I cant login with any online messenger out there. I tried the whole lot, about 10 or so. They al can't seem to make a connection with the internet.
Internet seems to be working fine though, since transmission, limewire and firefox are all up and running.
I'm currently using eBuddy for the time being, but I'd really like a solution for my problem. I've deleted some preference files, but this didn't change anything.
P.S.: If you were to spot some faults/incorrections in this post, please notify, I'm Dutch and would love to improve my language skills.
Mac Mini :: Unable To Send Email To Accounts - "Connection And Login To Server Succeeded"
Jun 30, 2012Why does my mac mini now refuses to send out email, to any of my accounts? It was working. Works on my power pc, works on my iPad. Works when I use my old eudora mail program. Just doesn't work on the mac mini using the Apple Mail program. The mail system error message says the the "sender address rejected by server.". Results of clicking on "connection doctor" in error message gives all "green" status on all addresses and smtp.west.cox.net. Status message says, "Connection and login to server succeeded". In summery. everything looks fine but still will not send out messages.  I've tried restarting system. No luck. Tried taking accounts offline then online. Doesn't help. I've only concluded that the problem is in the Apple Mail program on the mac mini.Â

Mac Mini :: Strange 'a's In Boxes In Webpages After Loading Office
Jun 24, 2012 Some while ago I loaded MS Office onto my mini. After that I start to get strange "'a's in a box" characters in webpages rendering Safari unuseable. I started using Chrome. And this worked. I have just bought Family tree maker; that uses windows that are images from the web, and the problem is back.

OS X :: Unable To Load Nearly All Webpages?
Apr 26, 2009I have a MacBook running OSX 10.4, and I'm using Firefox 3.0.9. For nearly every webpage that I open, the error log gives me an error like "Expected (blank) but received (blank). Declaration dropped." This isn't a problem for some webpages, as they'll load fully, but for others, they won't load at all. This is a really frustrating problem, and it just started all of a sudden yesterday. I didn't install a new web browser or any new extensions, and I've done virus and malware scans, and I can't seem to find the problem. Could it be a problem with extensions, or with my system, or perhaps my Internet connection?

Mar 23, 2012My mouse pointer disappears when still, if I open a webpage or app store the page drops to the bottom and I cant get back to the top with the mouse. I have tried six different mice (blue tooth and wireless including mac magic mouse) , all the same. Also when the sound is on and the system starts up there is a low buzzing sound until I move the mouse or open something up. Should I just restart the whole os as this is only one week old and I am over it already!

Jun 20, 2008Hi! Im new to the forums but i really need help with something and i was hoping someone here could help me out. So I just installed Tech Tool Deluxe onto my macbook and then shut it down later. I went back to use it again and when i turned it on a login screen appeared asking me to put in my password. I did that and the screen turned blue (looking like it was loading) and then went back to the login screen. Every time i put in my password it just takes me back to the login screen. I have had my mac for a while and i dont want my hardrive to get wiped out so what do i do? Thank you for looking

Jan 6, 2009I work for a company that has several Macs available for customers' use. These are basically demo-machines that they can play with, and at the end of each day, the machines are wiped and rebooted.
The way we do this is simple: the machines auto-login to the Guest account, which will wipe the account at the end of the day. Well, getting a few new Macs in this week, I simply copied over the entire Guest user account to the new machines to avoid reloading all the demo content, preferences, etc. And truthfully, the machines have been working great.
Except one thing. The computer keeps giving me that annoying message that says "Safari (or Finder, or System Preferences, or anything!) wants to use keychain 'login'". And asks for the login keychain password. Well here's the thing: the Guest accounts don't have passwords!
So I looked up a little bit on this topic, and did things like... Went to "Keychain List" in the Edit menu of Keychain Access, and deleted both the "login" and "system" keychains. No help. I went to Preferences in Keychain Access and said "Reset My Keychain". When doing this, however, it asks for the new password for the login keychain.
The problem with this is that I cannot leave the field blank! The Guest account doesn't have a password, so how am I supposed to not create a password?

OS X :: Unable To Login To Network / Login Disabled And Connection Failed
Apr 15, 2010G4 MDD networked with Mini for approx. 3 years now via a LinkSys BEFSR41 wired router. Ethernet cables are CAT6's with gold-plated ends. Did an erase/install (+ updates) of Panther on G4. ISP is Comcast Cable. Just upgraded my Motorola modem from Surfboard 5100 to SB 5101 yesterday. My network settings are ok...file sharing is turned on...I can ping each 'puter from the other (showing my connection is good).
I have internet access (showing that the router is still good according to Cisco). Now, however, I can't even bring up the window on the G4 asking for my pw....all I get is connection failed, no response from the server. From the Mini, I get Unknown User, incorrect password or login is disabled. I haven't a clue what the problem can be. Everything I do daily depends upon the network connection.

Oct 20, 2010i ve recently activated the default guest account in leopard. However even though when I check in the accounts.prefpane it says that it is on and its 'login only' and when I click on the account it says 'allow guests to login into this computer' and its on.
However when I boot up my machine and click on the guest icon, it wont let me in as it shakes the menu(login failed).

Jan 25, 2010I've had some problems accessing Safari Internet, which is what I used previously. I can access Internet Explorer, but all web pages are incomplete and jumbled; nor am I able to download anything, including trying to download Safari. My iTunes will not open either, and I cannot view any type of video, using Adobe Flash player. I never used to have any of these issues before. The current Internet setup is At&t Broadband. I am wondering if you might be able to suggest what the problem is, and how to remedy it.

Aug 22, 2014I have noticed that several of my browsers (Chome v36, Firefox, Opera) are unable to display web pages. Safari sometimes shows pages, but mostly displays them as blank. On the other hand, Chrome Canary and Epic browser seem to display web pages without a problem. I have attached screenshots of what some of these error messages say. Â

Jul 28, 2008I have an iMac G5 1.8Ghz and Today when I logged in, it just froze on the apple OS X background. I waited 2 minutes, and nothing happened. It was weird because it's the first time it happened. Anyway, I turned the iMac off and re-tried. It did the exact same thing. So I turned it off, unplugged everything, waited around a minute, plugged it all back in, and it worked fine.
But yeah, just trying to work out why it would do that... because this is going to my brother and I don't want it to just crash when I give it to him.

Jun 4, 2012What does anyone think of Backblaze for online backup? Currently running Lion on a Mac Mini, & backing up regularly to an external drive, but if something happens at home. From what I see about Backblaze, the fact that they're very Mac-oriented is very inciting! (Former Mac people they say!) So, assuming that an online / offsite backup is a good idea - is Backblaze the way to go? Or one of the others?

Jan 6, 2011first time posting. Got a mac mini from March 09, got snow leopard on it and been running football manager 2011 on it without too many problems. However running the game on high graphic settings produces a lag/choppy gameplay, only playing it on medium gives smooth gameplay. But i've experienced poorer graphic capability installing games like EMpire at War in OS, but not in windows with bootcamp where the games can be played on the highest graphic settings without problems. Any reason for this? To try and sort it i thought i'd try and update my Nvidia drivers on the mac side of things, in the about mac pop up it says my card is a GeForce 9400 so when i try and install a driver from Nvidia with GeForce 9400m it wont install saying i dont have the hardware to support the drivers. But i cant find any info online to suggest there is two Nvidia cards with just an m difference? Even on wikipedia?

Mar 16, 2009I have an iMac 17" G5 1.6 intel with 2 Gb of RAM. I can watch videos with no problem unless I try to watch one online such as Youtube or something like a video on Fox news. I have a highspeed cable modem hookup through Cox Cable. I have tried switching between the airPort and direct ethernet hookup but is makes no difference. I don't have this problem with my MacBook Pro.

Sep 12, 2010I have an Early 2009 Mac Mini with Mini DVI and Mini DisplayPort. And I have two 1080p HDTVs. The Mac Mini is capable of dual display, and I've gotten it to work before, so the issue is not the TV or Mac. And I have tried both Mirroring and No Mirroring.
I got a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (#5311) and a Mini-DVI to HDMI Adapter (#4852) both from MonoPrice. And for some reason I can't get the Mac Mini to dual display, it's only one or the other.
Before I had a Mini Displayport Male and USB Male AUDIO to HDMI Female Converting Adapter (#5969) and I got video on both HDTVs, but not audio at the same time b/c one was USB and one was TOSLINK.
I'm not sure why I can't get video on both monitors. Any help?

Mac Mini :: Can't Login After Power Failure
Mar 20, 2012While working last night I got a short power failure in the house. Right after that when I tried to start my mac mini again, it booted up to the log in scren ok, but when I try to login, a white screen appears and then it goes right back to the login screen.Â
Things I have tried: Tried to fix disk in recovery, no errors were found.used resetpassword in Terminal for my user account I can't get into safe mode, I'm trying to hold the shift and release it before progress bar, but safe mode doesn't come up?

Mac Mini :: Unable To Connect Mini Display Port To Vga Adapter
Apr 12, 2010So our church just purchased a nice refurb iMac to use for media presentations during weekly worship services. We have a projector with a VGA cable, so I bought a mini display port to VGA adapter from apple so that we can connect our shiny new iMac to our big screen.
However, when we attempt to connect our VGA to our adapter, they don't fit together properly. It's like the screws on the VGA cable aren't long enough to screw into the adapter...thus, the cable won't stay connected to the adapter (it just falls out).
Someone suggested getting an S cable to replace the VGA cable, but Apple tells me there's no adapter to link the S cable to the iMac. I'm absolutely clueless...surely there is a way to connect my wonderful new iMac to the big screen.
Any ideas?
