I moved a number of folders from a back-up drive (using Time Machine) to the trash, and have had no success in getting them out of the trash. Option+Empty, Option+Secure Empty Trash, after using Disk Utility to repair permissions and then try again, and the TrashIt! app.. nothing is working. I'm not in need of the space, I just want to get rid of the items. as I can't even find 'Error Code -8003' anywhere.Â

Trying to empty my trash bin I keep receiving the error code-8003?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile trying to Securely empty trash, I get an error code -8003. The trash bin now has about 2 million files to empty. The large number of files are due to transferring numerous time machine back ups files to be deleted after a partial LaCie hard drive failure.

I located the time stamped backup, selected my hard drive, then did "RESTORE".The first thing that happened was a message that it was preparing to copy to 'volumes'It got to about 3823 items when I got the error code 8003. I wanted to restore my entire iMAC to that stamped date-time.

I am running OSX 10.6.8. I keep receiving messages that my startup disk is full. I tried to free space up by emptying trash & got error code -8003.

I moved the files from my external hard drive from the back up files made by Time Machine into the trash, as I've always done. This time I get an error message (error code 8003) and am not allowed to move the files back onto the drive or out of the trash, even after changing the permissions. I've searched the support forum for error code 8003, but find nothing that relates to back up files.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI used boot camp to install windows 7 on my imac 10.6 and after it finishes installing the computer restarts and it'll just bring me back to the installer and when I eject the disc it brings me back up to osx without any way to go to windows. I can view the partition and it says that windows 7 is installed but I dont know how to get the windows 7. Every tutorial I see windows automatically boots up. I might just be missing something really simple, but its frustrating and I want to solve the issue

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo, for the last week or so I'm been experiencing very strange symptoms, which I think are probably all connected:
1) My MBP (running 10.5.8 bought in August 2008) has from time to time just been turning itself off. Like, I'm just working on something and then it suddenly turns off.
2) My mouse from time to time stops responding to input, sometimes the keyboard does the same thing
3) When I restart after 1 or 2 occurs, it doesn't work. The computer turns on, I get to the screen with the apple on it (there's a chime all of that), then it goes to a plain blue screen and just stays there - the log in box never comes up.
4) In what I think may be related, my computer seems to be running extremely "hot" right now. After just normal use, I'm reaching GPU temperatures as high as 75 degrees according to iStat and CPU temps around 70.
