I need to make address labels in Pages, but there's no option to select which Avery Template, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Classic Layout in Mail.app - in the message list the column "Flag" shows all flags/labels as text, i.e. instead of an orange flag icon it shows "Orange". This is rather strange and uses too much space in the list - is there a way to change to icon view? In Mavericks it shows a coloured flag icon.
I tried to find a menu command or Mail.app preference to change this, but couldn't find one. Not sure but I think in OS X 10.10.0 Mail.app showed flag icons; I have OS X 10.10.1 installed.

I'm using Gmail with Mail.app on my Macbook and my iPhone. I want to filter emails for shopping, entertainment and utilities into folders without having them all in my main inbox or a Gmail "All Mails" folder. Does anyone have a good solution for this?
A little background:
I have my Gmail account set up with Mail.app currently. I have several folders set up on my Mac, and I have filters set up to send certain messages to certain folders. For instance, emails from [URL] go to an eBay folder.
I have emails in my inbox , all from same person and email address, that show up under the "From" heading with different labels - or names, such as
Robert McDee, McDee Robert, robert.mcdee@XXXX.com, <robert mcdee>
Can I change these so all emails from one person show up with same name (makes searching for email by sorting 'from' more productive)and what are these < > ? where did they come from
My new workplace is a Mac office and uses Mail 4.5 for email. (I'm using a MacBook Pro w/OS 10.6.8). I'm used to being able to assign colors/labels to certain senders in Gmail or Outlook, but I don't see how to do it in Mail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having a very difficult time setting up my Google apps IMAP e-mail account to work correctly with Apple Mail 3.0, as well as with my Apple iPhone, and I was hoping that somebody could please help me get this figured out once and for all. I have followed all of the Google apps IMAP e-mail setup instructions to properly configure your IMAP e-mail clients, but despite this I am still having problems getting everything working properly. I'm currently using an iPhone with firmware version 1.1.4, and I have manually configured my Gmail account on my phone. I mention this because Google has clearly specified that there are different instructions for handling the proper deletion/archiving of e-mail messages depending on which version of the firmware you are using. My main problem has to do with properly mapping my IMAP labels, with the corresponding Apple Mail 3.0 folders and the folders on my iPhone. I havve searched for the answer to my questions repeatedly on the Internet, but most of the articles and blog posts that I have find that describe the the proper methods of setting things up correctly were either originally posted before the recent Gmail IMAP implementation, or before Gmail version 2.0 became available (or before things changed with version 1.1 .3 of the iPhone firmware). Needless to say, it's been difficult to find a relevant article that applies to the current scenario under which I am trying to set things up.......

I have a mac mini version os x 10.7.3 that has iMovie on it, but when I try to burn a DVD to play on a tv, it doesn't have anything to make a dvd. iMovie says it create a iDvd in a pull down box under Share, but then nothing happens. There is no iDvd on the computer. Did this version of Mac mini not come with iDvd? Do I have to purchase that separately to make DVDs?

I was wondering if it is possible to create my own personal website on my own personal Mac Mini that is viewable across the internet. Something similar to what this website is offering: LINK
Basically I would like to be able to either create my own website or use online CMS software like Wordpress/Joomla on it to develop them. I would also like to have a way to link a domain name to the mac mini server if possible.
Is it then possible to configure the mac mini into a real website server?
Also, if by any chance anyone here has a good website with a tutorial on how to do this it would be great to have something to read on this topic.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI tried the following to make a bootable floppy image and it would not even read in a virtual machine. I have Oracle Virtualbox. I am using a Mac Mini 2011 with 4GB of RAM. I have tried making a blank floppy and copying to it by dragging and using the Terminal, but neither works. Here are the cmds I used:
dd if=/dev/zero bs=1024 count=1440>floppy.img
Then I mounted and erased the image file in Disk Utility.
cp -Rpv /Volumes/Untitled/ /Volumes/UNTITLED 1/
The above command copied all the files from the floppy to the image but the image wouldn't read on the virtual machine.

My Mac Mini has been running slow since I upgraded to Leopard several months ago. It is not Snow Leopard. My Mac Mini is running software version 10.5.8 and my processor is a 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4 with 512 MB RAM. Am I running slow since my Mac Mini is intel? Should I switch it back to Tiger or is there any other suggestions you can make. I have run the disk utility and have run the repair permissions. The computer is especially slow on Safari where it is faster on my MacBook pro.

How can I get the mail app to stop prompting me to set it up when I log in. I have no interest in using the Mail app, and if I could I would delete it (alas it is a required application and I cannot do that). I use google mail and outlook as a client, and I would really just like the Mail app to leave me alone. I have changed all the file associations, and I have checked that mail is not one of the "start on login" apps under my profile.

I thought I could just make a 'draft' and change the receiver's email address etc. but when ever I hit send even if it was saved as a draft it is then gone after the send. Is there a way to make a template so it will send but I will still have it saved in 'draft's after?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I check my GMail account 3 places, through the web-based client, my iPhone (IMAP) and Mail (IMAP). Everything works perfectly except for the fact that when I read an email on my phone or the web-based client, the message stays as unread on the Mail app on my MBP.
The read message syncing works perfectly between the iPhone and web (i.e., if I read an unread message via the web it will be marked as read on the phone the next time the phone talks to the server and vice versa). However, it just doesn't work like this on the Mail app on my computer. If I read a message on the iPhone the message will stay marked as unread on the Mail app until I click on it.
I am using Lion on a new MacBook Air, and after migrating my old data from my old MBP, I noticed that Mail no longer makes sounds for new mail or sent mail. I did some research and found something related to IMAP settings, but I use POP, and still don't get the sounds.

Then suddenly last night, I can only send mail using the app. I called Comcast to see if they had a mail server down and they told me it was a problem with my e mail client since I could send and receiving using the Comcast webmail. I don't get it. I didn't change any of my settings and I can send and receive just fine using my iPhone.
