just a quick question, will any webcam work on my 06 mac mini or do i need a specific make? ive been looking on the internet but different websites say different things and i need to know before i buy one.
My webcam wont work with my Mac mini, I have a Sogatel USB 2.0 webcam, when I connect to the mac mini it wont work. Ive looked at the actualy USB in system perferences and the webcam is recognised as being plugged in. However when i try to use it with any applications it doesnt work.
I have a 2009 Mac Mini, which does not have a webcam. I don't need an expensive one, but I'd like to stick a basic one on there for iChat, etc.
I see webcams in the various stores for $25 or $30, which seem like they'd do the trick, but the boxes always say they're for Windows systems only.
I'm assuming that means the software that comes with them. But if I buy any old Microsoft or HP web cam and just plug it in, will the Mini see it and understand it?
I am so frustrated! This is the fourth webcam I've tried. I have downloaded drivers and nothing ever works.
This is the GearHead Quick 8.0 MP Auto Focus Webcam. I put in the cd and it came up with the Webcam Driver. One says setup.exe and one says autorun.inf Obviously the .exe didn't work and the autorun.inf pulled up text edit. I tried to go on the website and download the driver and it gives me the same things. I just don't know what to do!!
Will this monitor be compatible with my mac mini? It also comes with a webcam, and I was wondering if I'd be able to use that as well.
How would the color look on it? Right now I'm using a 2 maybe 3 year old dell screen in the shape of a square and the color looks kind of fuzzy. How would it look on that particular monitor?
I just got a Mac mini and I really love OS X. One thing that I really want to get though is a webcam. I really liked having it on my HP laptop. I don't need the most expensive cam ever, but I don't want something that is gonna look really bad (while my friend's MacBook Pro has good iSight video quality). I would most likely only be using it for iChat and ooVoo. I was thinking about this one since reviews say that people are using it with their own Mac minis: [URL]
I'm searching for a high-quality video producing webcam for use with my Mac Mini (Oct 2009 refresh). Is the Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro for Mac the best option? Most webcams are not compatible with Mac.
I have a mac mini core solo and also have a 20inch cinema display (the one with no camera) and I want to add a webcam onto it. Now do I have to use the apple iSight or can I use any old webcam to go with it?
I wanted to get a webcam for my Mac mini and noticed that this one is going on sale tomorrow:[URL]. I remember reading a while back that the camera must have auto-focus built in to the lens, as iChat does not adjust the picture. I am unsure if it is built into this one.
I got the mini a few weeks ago and have been struggling to make the Pro 9000 HD work properly on it.
The camera always works. The problem is the mic which works only intermittently one out of ten times maybe.
I did some googling and found other people having similar issues.
So, I reckon this webcam just doesn't work properly with mini.
However, I found that it always works after reseting PRAM. I don't want to do that everytime I power on the mini (not sure if that would do any physicial damage to the ram either).
I have a mini i7 with a Logitech HD Pro webcam. The person at the other end gets a bad echo of themselves when video chatting. The issue is on my side, not theirs. Tried face time and google talk. Even tried two different web cams. My wife's iMac has a check box to "use ambient noise reduction" my mac mini doesn't have that option. How can I fix this. Surly there are mac mini owners using webcams?
I need to stream a video of my choosing using amsn in OsX. I found an app named macam that is suposed to do just that, among other things. I followed the intructions but I just can't get it to recognize the dummy webcams.
I have my Mini hooked up through a usb/minidisplayport to HDMI adapter. On my keyboard when I push mute or volume up or down, the computer shows the mute/vol up/vol down icon on the screen when I push it and it makes the volume sound, but it does not actually mute the tv or make the volume go up or down. Only the actual TV controls will make it work.
I've having trouble getting the "webcam" option on "live messenger" on my MAC. There is no option for starting a conversation with a cam and when people request a cam conversation it suggests that i get "window live v7" I've already got this. Do I need a separate webcam instead of the built-in one i have on my laptop?
My wife has an older Mac mini that came preloaded with 10.4. The hard drive failed and I have installed a new one, used the 10.4 DVD to format the drive BUT when I try to install the OS, it says I need to install 10.3 first. There is no 10.3 DVD with the mini. It came with 10.4 preloaded and the 10.4 DVD clearly says that is is part of a hardware bundle and not for resale. Nowhere on the DVD does it say "upgrade". How do I get 10.3 or get the 10.4 DVD to work?
I wanted to know if the Travel Kit that Apple sells would be compatible with the Mac Mini. I am thinking of buying one in the US for money's sake, and I live in the UK. I just wanted to make sure that if I did get it, it wouldn't be a waste of money.
Possibly in the market for a MacMini but was wondering how well it would work if I streamed video files, mostly .avi files from an external HD connected to my Airport Extreme. Does processor speed matter, or is more important to have a good WiFi/internet connection?
I was going to buy a Mini and then upgrade the HD/RAM, but if I can get away with getting a base model and simply stream videos and other files from the drives that I have shared over the network, it would certainly save me a ton of money.
My friends Macbook's harddrive died and after successfully replacing it she now wants to reinstall Leopard, but she doesn't have the install disks that came with her Macbook. She has asked to borrow the one that came with my Mac mini, but will this work? I am assuming it only contains the drivers and parts of Leopard needed for a Mac Mini and not a Macbook?
I've got a current gen Mac Mini and she has a plastic Macbook, so they have different graphic cards and what not. Is my disk going to work on her machine?
I bought a 1.5GHz G4 Mini with Combo Drive. Ordered a Superdrive via eBay and fitted it (2 minute job - done it many times previously). Panasonic Model UJ-846-B march 2008. On this occasion, the drive fails to work. I can insert a disc and eject it (using the button on the front of the drive) but the drive isn't "seen" by the Mini. [URL] I received a second drive from the seller and it has the same problem. I assume that it doesn't have the correct "driver" firmware installed.
