Jul 18, 2010I am running mac os X version 10.5.8 and I find that mail will download not all my mail and will not send from any of my mailboxes.
I have set up mail with my googlemail account my mobileme account and my yahoo accounts. all are set up as stp and I have set them up according to all the online help lines. I have had mail set up for many months now, and have been trying to fix this problem for a long time now off and on.
One thing that I have tried is changing the outgoing port number from the default to 587, but still no joy.

Dec 10, 2008ichat seems to not be receiving my messages, when I write and hit enter I can only see the ichat bubble (attachment below), my friend can see my message but when he sends a message back I still see the same bubble, doesn't even look like he's sent a message.

Feb 8, 2010I'm brand new to the Mac world, so please excuse me if I'm missing something simple or if I don't give all the necessary information.
I'm using a MacBook Pro and running Mac OS X 10.5.6
I set up macmail and used it successfully for 2-3 days. All of a sudden I stopped receiving some of my emails. I didn't realize it for 2 days, since I was still receiving some emails. My husband mentioned sending me one I hadn't received, which is when I realized the problem. I checked my old machine which is still running Windows and Outlook and the messages were all there. I've looked through some forums, but can't find anyone with the same situation. It seems everyone is either receiving all or none.
I can't find a commonality between the messages I'm not receiving. I've tried Connection Doctor which reports everything is normal.

There isn't any problem connecting to the internet, and Mail seems to think that it is appropriately communicating with the server, but my various inboxes have a dozen new messages that haven't downloaded.

Can we still use our mac.com/me.com email addresses after June without signing up to icloud. If one or more of the email only account holders update to Lion and icloud, can they transfer their emai accounts without the main account holder doing so. If we all have other apple devices ie iphone and ipads, and sign up to icloud, can we then use our mobile me mail addresses also on our OS Leopard macs.

Apr 19, 2012I'm using Mail 3.6 on OS 10.5.8. I have three email accounts I manage through Mail. My main email account has stopped receiving emails. I can still send but not receive. My other two email accounts both send and receive just fine.Â
Mail had prompted me to import messages after a restart right before this account stopped receiving mails. All of the emails (from all three accounts) imported successfully and I'm sure what prompted Mail having to reimport emails in the first place. This main email account had grown quite large, around 46,000 messages and I've since got that number down to 28,000.Â

Sep 11, 2014I only receive my emails spasmodically, and often don't receive the important stuff! I would receive all emails on each of my devices, using Mail (often annoying as I would have to delete it 4 times) but at least it ensured that I didn't miss anything. Â
Now I only receive the messages that Mail wants me to get.... and not all of them, and once it has come down on one device, it doesn't appear on any of the others. I have deleted accounts and re added them, without any change. I have contacted my internet provider, and checked all the settings, and they appear correct (although my emails don't stay on the server as a backup option).Â

I have googled and can't find much but is there a way to bluetooth text from my phone to my computer then from my computer to the phone to a recipient? I say bluetooth so that I don't have to use extra messages or get charged by my carrier for it. Is there an app that can do this? Basically I want to be able to leave my phone in my pocket and still receive text on my computer that come to my phone and then be able to respond from my computer.
