View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac and MacBook pro. I have my library on both machines. Keeping it current is a topic for another thread. But what I was wondering is... Is there a way to have both playing the same song simultaneously? I want to have both machines playing so I can keep my iMac in the basement, then bring my MBP upstairs with me. What if I access my iMac's library from my MBP via iTunes shared library? Or something like that??
Thoughts??
[By the way, I searched for hours and didnt see anything quite like this. I noticed other posts about keeping libraries synced but nothing about playing in both.]
I'm trying to connect my mid 2011 iMac to my tv. I have a thunderbolt to hdmi cable that I purchased. I connected the thunderbolt port to the iMac and connected the hdmi port to the tv. I turned on both devices and the tv is not getting the signal.

I'm trying to connect my iMac to my macbook via ethernet, and my macbook recognizes my iMac, but my iMac doesn't recognize my macbook. This means that in my macbook network settings, the Ethernet icon is green, while in my iMac network settings, the Ethernet is yellow. Both say Status: Connected, but my iMac's ethernet is yellow for some reason. How do I get it to turn green and recognize my Macbook? I don't think this makes a difference, but my iMac is 10.6.8 and my macbook is 10.5.8.Â

But the drive isn't showing up in finder AND disc utility. If I unplug the SATA connection between drive and adpter and plug it back in, the drive shows up.Â
Problem is: This way i cant't use it as startup volume, as the drive isn't mounted during startup.Â
Problem 2: Booting with the cable connected (internal startup volume this time) isn't possible either, as the wireless keyboard and trackpad aren't working after startup. I can see my desktop but mouse pointer and keyboard aren't working. After power off and unplugging everything boots up normally.Â

I'm trying to find a Thunderbolt Dock for External Hard Drive. Â One of these http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/pc/External-SATA-Hard-Drive-Docking-Station-USB- Interface-937p3180.htmÂ
But with Thunderbolt connector instead of USB, Firewire, eSATA etc. Â
Do these exist? Â The only thing I could find close is the Seagate Go Flexi Adapter, but that only works for those drives. Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a time capsule and a MacBook Air for the last number of months. Both had been working perfectly and even when my neighbour came over with his MacBook, we could quite easily network between the two computers and connect the two to the internet via the time capsule... Furthermore my MacBook air backed up regularly to the time capsule using time machine without a problem.
Problem. I got a new iMac and uploaded an imprint of my MacBook account and data onto it from the time capsule. I now cannot connect the two computers to the time capsule simultaneously, cannot network between them or cannot have both connected to the internet at the same time.. Furthermore, neither will back up to the time capsule using time machine. Very frustrating, because I know that it is something very simple causing this, but I am new enough to Mac and cannot resolve.
It uses OS 10.4.11 and the other computer I want to share with uses 10.5.6. Is that the problem? Do the operating systems have to be the same?

I have a new Mac Pro and a new LaCie thunderbolt 2 drive. At irregular and unexpected moments the message appears 'drive not properly ejected'. Sometimes the icon is still on the desktop, sometimes it disappears. Nothing works, unchecking sleep boxes, using other thunderbolt port. Is it a Mac Pro issue or a LaCie thunderbolt issue? It is a huge problem of course.
I bought the LaCie drive from Apple. Which one should I return if necessary, the Mac Pro or the LaCie drive?
