I have recently bought 2 4GB 1333MHz memory to be used with my Mac Pro mid 2010 nehalem processor. It works fine, turns on and all, but after opening a few programs and letting it run a little and i ask him to shut down, it takes me to the grey screen with the little rolling ball and does not shut down.
I would like to update my MacBook Pro 5,1 with two 2GB modules to 4GB. The current RAM is running on 1066MHZ but the new modules at my computer place are only available with SO-DIMM 2GB DDR3 1333MHz.
Would the MacBook Pro 5,1 work with two SO-DIMM 2GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM modules too?
I want to upgrade the memory for my 2.53GHz 13" MB Pro from 4GB to 8GB. If the system bus is 1067Mhz. Does that mean I need to be sure to get mem sticks that are also 1067Mhz?
I am interested to get myself a 17" 2.4GHz quad-core Intel i7 MacBook Pro, just that I want to make sure that can MBP17" 2.4GHz support 16GB (8GB x2). 1333Mhz DDR3 SDRAM memory configuration. Or is it just waste money to install 16GB RAM in the MacBook Pro, cause in the menu it says MBP support up to 8GB of RAM. Â

I want to upgrade from Leopard 10.5.8.I bought the Snow Leopard CD from Apple a few months ago. Installer ran for maybe 8 minutes, then said it "cannot change the contents/data of the hard drive". I don't remember the exact word. I had to use boot from CD and the keyboard eject to get the CD out. Now my MacBook Pro won't boot. It gets stuck on the grey screen, then after several minutes it shuts down. I bought the laptop used 2 years ago, and don't have a Leopard disc. What can I do?
I'm not sure the details on mixing RAM types these days, particularly with ECC/non-ECC. I have the stock 27" i5 iMac (so presumably 2x2GB chips). I have 2 1333mhz ECC 1GB chips ([URL]) available to me. Would it work to pop those in to the 2 empty slots in the computer or would mixing the types cause problems?
So I wanna go buy the 21.5 inch 500gb iMac but it is running on snow leopard and I know lion is out now and mountain lion is coming out in June..... Will I have to pay to update to lion then mountain lion? Or just wait and pay to update to mountain lion in a few weeks. And how much will mountain lion cost? Is there a way to get the updates for free???
Just purchased a iMac 27" 31 GHz Core 5i and I like to upgrade the ram. Crucial has a 16GB package and I was wondering can I add 16 on top of current 4 GB, means 20 GB?
Upgrading from old mac to new mac with time machine backup. Seems that the upgrade has stagnated! Stuck on 'transferring your applications folder..." then, "About 5 minutes remaining" This has been the situation for 3 hours plus..Should I turn off ext HD to prompt to the finalize the process and tidy up what applications are missing? or Wait because it really is finalizing the applications folder..?
There seems to be an issue with the upgrade from 10.6.8 to 10.7;After rebooting several times (also using alt+cmd+P+R) the installation cannot be done correctly.'Error while installing'
System alerts that I have upgrades. These are always an upgrade to OS X and Safari. The system will start the download but never finishes, therefore I have to reboot or cancel the download.Â
