Intel Mac :: White Blinking Startup Screen?
Feb 10, 2012When I shut down my iMac and restarted it gets past the apple logo then turns white and starts dimming and then getting brighter but will not go any further. Â
I tried to reboot in safe mode and it done the same thing. I power cycled by unplugging the holding down the power button. Â

Jun 2, 2014I was off of my iMac for an hour or two so my screen saver when on. I went to wake the computer and it was frozen. I tried using the keyboard and mouse to wake up the computer from the screen saver, but it would not work, so I powered the iMac down manually from the button on the back. I let it sit for 15 minutes, then I tried to start the computer up again. Now at start up, I get to a blank white screen with the spinning moving pin wheel, and that is it.Â

May 13, 2012I cant seem to make it shut down completely or re-start, it seems to be in sleep mode and wont wake up. When I try and restart it makes a sound like its trying to eject a disc (there is nothing in the cd drive).

Software :: White Screen Hang On Mac OSX Startup Disk?
Mar 20, 2010Running a MBP (mid 2009) 2.26GHz on OSX Leopard 10.5.8. I am trying to boot from the Startup disk (OSX Leopard 10.5.2) and when I stick it in a restart, I hold C and it hangs on the screen before where the Apple logo would appear normally, as if it's trying to load from the startup disk. The disk spins up and I hear it, but it just hangs there. Only thing I can do is a hard restart with the power button.
I have started from the disk before, so I know it worked in the past. Also, OSX recognizes the disk when I'm logged in and I can even run the Installer (ask you to restart though).
I recently turned on FileVault (have restarted multiple times since then) but not sure if this has anything to do with it. I am trying to set a password for the Firmware so someone can't reformat without a pw.

Jul 4, 2012I was changing my desktop screen saver. Now it says it is "Loading Images..." and won't stop. It is locked and I can't do anything.Everytime I click on my "System Preferences" -- the Desktop & Screen Saver comes up - has my old picture and states it is still loading images.
This has been going on for awhile and I can't seem to get it stop. The Colouful wheel goes around. Â

MacBook Pro :: 13" Stuck On White Screen And Not Showing Any Hard Drives On Startup Management?
Jun 7, 2012I have a 13" macbook pro, i was using it one night and was runnung ok until i come back to it the next morning.I opened the lid but the backlight didnt come on but could just see the screen so i re-started it by holding down the power button and then thats where it never worked again for me. I have followed some of the tips from some forums but i have no luck.i used another hdd for my mac to use on as its bigger GB than the original,ive been using that for 5 months with no problems, now my mac wont show any of the hdd's even the orginal one that wasnt formatted. Ive managed to format the original one but its not showing that one niether.the second hdd ive left with the snow lepard on it.  Now with the other mac ive plugged them both in externally and shows up on desktop but still no luck on the mac thats down. Ive even tried with the installation cd that shows up on startup management but nothing eles.

Jun 1, 2009So my 20" 2.4 Imac crashed on me twice tonight. A box popped up telling me to hold down the restart button for several seconds to restat. The second time I did this it just sits with a white screen and give three loud beeps over and over. Is there a fix for this? Is it my ram? I'm at a loss.

They are non-responsive for about ten minutes after I open/start up, and then start working intermittently once the machine has warmed up. May 10, 2012I own a 3year old iMac 24" model 2008. On the top of the screen theres appeared some white "sun"-alike stripes.
I got the iMac from someone which unfortunately is a smoker, so the first thing i did was cleaning the glass, which did alot for the fuzzy smudges. But theres something wrong in the LCD screen itself.Â
My observation are that its easier to see when theres backlight, so when the screen is black its almost not visible.Â
I wonder if theres any chance that dust/smoke has got its way inside of the LCD even though the stripes look way too symmetric.
