iMac was purchased in Dec (version 10.7.3 operating). Yesterday I installed Adobe Suite and today I went to open Photoshop and it says I need Javatime, I click to install and it says "software update quit unexpectedly". I tried updating version in iTunes and same thing happened. In numerous applications it will not allow updates.
I assume something in the software became corrupt with installing the Adobe Suite.

When I try to run software updates, the updater progress bar starts, and the software updates window appears in the background, but after about 2-3 minutes both the progress bar and the software updates window disappear. This also happens when I try and update iTunes.

I wonder if this sounds familiar to you : I'm trying to install adobe flash player 11 on my iMac ( 10.7.3 ) but without success. Downloading is ok but installing is a problem, after starting the installing process it results not in the application but in the installing manager.

When I check for software updates only itunes and random other updates show up but not security updates or safari update. When i check installed updates I realized my last security update was 2011-004 and I still have safari 5.0.6.
View 4 Replies View Relatedthe last mac os x update this computer had was the on to get to 10.3.9 but when i check for updates.
there is nothing anyone know what i should do?
A security update (from like March or something) and Safari 5 just simply won't install. They are both downloaded, but when I click install it either shows a spinning loading thing for a few seconds, or the install thing for a few seconds, but then it just restarts.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that all of a sudden my MacBook Pro stopped installing updates. Lately, the only one that was installed up to the end was an HP printer update. Updates from Apple or from Microsoft Office will not get to the end of the process. It doesn't matter if I try via Software Update or directly from the Apple site. What happens it that the process goes up to the point I click "install" (after choosing the volume - which is the main HD), then nothing happens - no dialog box, nothing. I can click "install" a hundred times (the button remains available). Then I have to quit the installation process.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out why I am unable to run the software updates on an OSX 10.3.9 machine. I am behind a proxy that is not blocked (confirmed by proxy admin) When I run the update on 10.4.X and above (on the same network) I have no issues.
It will start the update then prompt me to authenticate. In watching the proxy the update send the request through the proxy as annomous.
is their a way that I can tell the OS what credentials to use or force it to prompt for log in info. Also I noticed that when 10.3.9 starts the update I hear a faint beep and then it will hang for a while then fail.
I cannot get updates:
The system recognizes I need updates then says:
The update cannot be saved
A network error has occurred. Check your internet connection and try again.
I don't think there is anything wrong with my connection, and I always get the same.

Every time I try to update the software (when the Software Update" panel opens up), I can download the software but after downloading it says "Unable to install software" "An unexpected error occcured".....
I have plenty of HD space (100G available out of 320G), and I've tried repairing permissions, restarting etc but I still get the same error message.

View 14 Replies View Relatedi can't seem to update my macbook with any of its updates. I try to install and restart the ones that need to restart, but it doesn't even move a inch when restarting. I've left it for like a day complete to see if the restart would move in the bar, but it just stays in the beginning.

I updated my adobe reader yesterday and the new update is horrible. When I view an adobe document in safari it is slow and sometimes unresponsive. I can no longer use my magic trackpad in order to zoom in and out. I cannot even print the document I am viewing.

Isn't Snow Leopard supposed to bring hardware acceleration better to the OS? I know adobe flash has never been good in OSX but it is worse in Snow Leopard! I use SMC Fan Control to keep my temps down but the temps rise so rapidly I have to go on 6000rpm to keep it below 70 degrees ? In Leopard it was fine on 3000rpm! This is standard definition we are talking about never mind HD!
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am unable to load any Adobe applications. I keep getting an error that I do not have the correct application/program to do the install of Acrobat X Pro and suggests going to the app store to download such software/programs. The Adobe product/media is for MAC and Adobe confirms suppport for 10.7.3, however the media only contains a .pkg installer file not a .dmg installer file which I need for MAC. I have tried two different DVD media for the same software and this is the case with both.
