Intel Mac :: How To Transfer .jpg To CD-R
Jun 15, 2012Here is my dilemma. IMAC with OS X 10.6.8 I have about 200 .jpg images from my vacation that I wish to put onto a CD-R and send to a friend. Sounds simple, but I can not do it. From all of the information I have read I should insert the disk, and drag the files onto the CD icon. But the CD icon is no where to be found. When I insert a CD a window opens "you inserted a CD. Choose an action from the pop up window or click Ignore" It appears that the best option is to open DISK UTILITY. If I do not open DISK UTILITY the CD Icon does not appar on the desktop. I have opened DISK UTILITY and tried all sorts of options. It has a burn option and is says select and image to burn. But the folder with the pics and the files are grayed out.

Jun 14, 2012I have an old Mac, an LC. Back then, USBs were not even around yet nor were CDs for that matter. However, the information on it (max 40 Megabites, not gigs) is very valuable to me and I woul like to know how to transfer it to the iMac with Lion. It does have an s-video port and I remember connecting a modem to it at one time. Most data was transferred using 3.5 inch diskettes back then.

Feb 5, 2012I am trying to transfer files applications data etc from an intel iMac i5 running OS X 10.6.8 to a Macbook Pro i7 running OS X 10.7.3 and having trouble with migration assistant. When I restart the iMac holding the T key it just opens to the usual desktop. If I start up holding the T key I get the grey screen with the firewire,thunderbold icon. Either way the Macbook does not seem to recognise the iMac in the migration assistant so I cannot proceed with file transfer. I have tried the above with different cables, just in case it was the cable.
