I would like to upgrade to the newest Adobe CS4 because I still use the first/original Creative Suite. BUT, is CS4 at all compatible with OSX Panther, or will I need to upgrade OSX? Also does anyone suggest upgrading to OSX Leopard from Panther; anything to be careful of. I am also concerned about Leopard's compatibilty with my current peripherals (few years old scanner, printer, drawing tablet) The primary use of this machine is for Graphic design, flash, web, and photo proccessing.

Jun 12, 2012I'm an illustrator, and I have enough need for photos of myself and various objects that I have a Nikon digital camera permanently mounted on a tripod in my studio. Is it possible to use Photo Booth as a viewfinder, so that I can see the camera's-eye-view of whatever I'm shooting? I know that literally, it can be done, because I currently use Photo Booth to shoot micro photos from a Celestron USB digital microscope. So why not input from a Nikon? Can it be done? If so, how?

Jun 23, 2014So my late 2009 iMac doesn't like headphones. When I have no headphones plugged in, I get the sound fine, and the output shows as internal speakers. But when I plug in headphones, the output shows as Digital Output. ***!!? The red light used to be there but only when the problem started, now it's gone. I've tried toothpick, Q Tip, everything. I think it's a hardware issue cause it does it on Snow Leopard, Mavericks, and even Yosemite. Since it's an '09 model my warranty is gone.

May 28, 2012I have a Panasonic Viera (2006) digital TV. It has every possible port on the back (and even ports on one side.)The TV is connected to a digital TV tuner/hard disk recorder unit. The tuner also has a ton of ports. What do I need to do in order to send video from the TV to the Mac and record it on the Mac?(Either live TV or video playback from the hard disk recorder.)With my old analog TV, I used the Interview XLR8 USB video capture device with the Interview application or BTV application. (I think even Quicktime could record from the XLR too.)Seems digital TV doesn't work with the XLR8. Is that right? I tried the XLR8 with various combinations of inputs/outputs but can't seem to get any video to appear on the Mac.
I see that HDMI is one way out from Mac out and view on the TV.I also have a VCR and DVD player connected to the TV via a switcher box.With the variety of digital and analog outputs from these devices, seems I should be able to get video from the TV into the Mac.

I want to upgrade my CS3 to CS5 but can't on my G5 since it is PowerPC, so I want to try it on my Intel based MacBook Pro instead. I can upgrade the memory to 3GB, but wanted to know from other users out there if Adobe CS5 will be super slow or could even work ok with my laptop? I'm trying to save a little money and time before purchasing a new intel desktop.
