If you keep lossing a keyboard connection, try replacing your rechargeable batteries. The System Preferences said the batteries were at 100% but the wireless connection would be lost and reconnecting every 30 seconds or so.

my bluetooth keyboard keeps losing connection. i go up to the status bar and reconnect, it connects then a few minutes later i lose connection again. the batteries are 100% i reboot the desktop my mouse see just fine.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got new imac 27 inch, trying to connect a casio ctk 1100 musical keyboard through the 3.5mm input jack on the back, it seems to register in the sound preference screen but no sound is heard through the imac speakers, i want to use it with garageband but this doesent see the keyboard, am i missing something here or do i need some sort of input device, the keyboard only has a 3.5mm output jack.

I updated iTunes to 11.4. No sooner had I done that, than I lost the connection to my wireless keyboard (Apple). iMac, OSX 10.7.5..I inserted new batteries into the keyboard. That did not work. My Apple Keyboard connected by wire operates just fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a 15" MacBookPro (July 2010). I am not used to laptop keyboards so I was able to purchase a bluetooth Apple Keyboard with the Numeric keys. This bluetooth external keyboard was made by Apple and a local company had these brand new for $60. I was told they were the model that came with iMacs. Apple support told me that they should work fine but did not offer an effective solution. So at any rate about 70% of the time this Bluetooth keyboard works great.
But sometimes when you go to type something it starts repeating whatever key you hit so it you were to type and "a" an example the MacBookPro displays "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa". Sometime just a few of the same character and sometimes it does not stop. I correct this by turning the power switch off on the Apple Bluetooth keyboard and then turn it back on and all is fine, for a while. Sometimes for a week or so then it will do it a lot for a while or just intermittently. The keyboard built into MacBookPro does not do this. I think it may be the Apple Bluetooth keyboard not the MacBookPro or its OS.
I have tried to send a mail via my account with German t-online-Mail, size abt. 5 MB, this mail is sent repeatedly and not saved in the file sent. My iMac keeps sending this mail as it seems for ever.

I'm running a new iMac with OS X Lion 10.7.4. Whenever I open the application Preview, it goes to fullscreen and stops responding (presenting the rainbow wheel) for a number of minutes. This happens everytime the scanner scans a file and opens in on Preview, and oftentimes when the application is opened normally. It takes about 5-10 minutes for it to begin responding after opening it. I know Preview is a relatively lightweight application

starting last week, randomly all the files will be gone. all applications installed will still be there, but every file the user has ever created will disappear completely. We have Crashplan running backup constantly, so we are able to restore the files, but a few days later, all the files will be gone again and we have to restore again. by gone I mean completely gone. search for any file and it doesn't exist. eerything on the desktop or in any folders (the folders are gone too.) all the programs will be there and be unable to find any recent saves.

Every time my iMac restarts or boots up, it brings me to the OS X installer page since last night.
I have done the disk utility check and my hard drive is ok. I then tried restoring from network which stops half way and reboot. I have also tried restoring from Time Machine but it has also stopped and rebooted several times.

I'm running 10.7.3 on my Mac Pro4,1 and have the standard Apple USB keyboard attached while using the Apple BT trackpad. After sleep and/or log off, I am often not able to use the keyboard any longer. To revive it, I must restart my system.

Since I upgraded to OSX 10.6.4, my wireless Apple keyboard is losing it's connection when the computer goes to sleep. I never had that issue before the upgrade. It will also on occasion lose it's connection while I'm actively using it. Is this a known issue that will eventually be addressed by Apple, or is there something else going on?

There are no physical barriers between the keyboard location and the mini.Every once in a while the keyboard connection drops out. If I wait a few seconds, and push the power button on the keyboard, it eventually regains it's connection.

I just bought a new 2012 aluminum Wireless keyboard and the function keys do not work properly. I am currently running OS 1.5.8. I would expect most keys to match the icons on the keyboard. I do not want to upgrade to Snow Leopard or Lion. I have installed an aluminum keyboard upgrade 2.0 and this did not help. I just want the the keyboard functions to match the icons on the keyboard.. I just purchased a new iMac 24" 2009 Model. I also got a Wireless Mighty Mouse & Wireless keyboard. I have owned the system for 6 days and each day the Mighty Mouse and keyboard will lose connection and require me to hold the power button down on the imac to restart the system. I called apple and was told to do a "Option Command R P" Reset. This did not fix the problem... I then called them again and was told to format the system.. This did not fix the problem.. I replaced the batteries, turned bluetooth off on any near by devices changed my 802.11 freq to a different channel. It seems from information collected from other forums that this is effecting mainly the new alum 2009 imac...I am starting to think this is now hardware. Also something I noticed.. Brand new FRESH Energizer Ultimate Batteries $25. I put them into the mighty mouse. 1 day later iStat reports the mouse is at 73%!! thats a big drop in 1 day

View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7, I'm now loosing my Apple wireless keyboard and mighty mouse bluetooth connection with my MacBook Pro. At least once a day, my keyboard and mouse both loose connection. There is no lag going on before it happens, it just happens suddenly. I can get connection back to both my mouse and keyboard by simply using the trackpad to turn bluetooth off then on again from the menu bar. Up until last week this was happening on my 17"/2.6GHz/4GB previous gen MacBook Pro. I have now sold that and as I'm sitting here setting up my new 17" uMBP, I just lost keyboard and mouse connection. Grrr. Obviously it's not my machine and obviously it's not my keyboard or mouse as they both loose connection at the same time - it's 10.5.7 I'm using airport wireless 'n' 5GHz only. I also have bluetooth enabled on my iPhone, but always have - and never had issues when running 10.5.6 (or earlier). I have searched here but haven't found anyone else mention this exact problem. Strange. I would have thought that it would be common now that I've experienced it with two MacBook Pro's running 10.5.7. Can I go back to 10.5.6 somehow without having to rebuild?

Preamble: My Quad 2.8 Mac Pro (Snow Leopard) repeatedly would not wake up from sleep. Apple Care had me reset the PRAM and maybe a couple of other things..(heck it was a couple of days ago...) and then they scheduled a repair tech to swap out the Radeon 2600 video card today. My question: If I want to have a back up video card on hand from now on, please advise model. Other than normal word processing, surfing, emailing,I only do basic photo editing with Photoshop Elements, and will be copying my 35 mm slide collection, so I don't need any that fancy, I imagine.

Trashed the new version, so now I have no iTunes. Don't see any opportunity to reload older version except by doing a total system reload (Snow Leopard). No, I don't have Time Machine, I had one of those crummy AirPorts with 500GB HD, but it died due to complete lack of cooling (another subject, sorry). What a totally crap design that was.

Just 2 days again I purchased a new imac from the apple store and installed my apple apps. After shutting down the system overnight and back on the next morning it became slow to boot and then requested I reboot again.Once up and operating I opened Aperture and within 3 minutes it told me I had to reboot again.This continues through anything that I do.

I am unable to install Windows XP using Boot Camp Assistant. On multiple attempts, the install process crashes in the middle with an error message that reads:

i am a teacher in a school where we have been told that every student must shut down each MacBook or iMac when finished. It is not unusual for 6-8 classes a day to do this. I have said putting the MacBooks to sleep would be better for them. Some of the laptops are taking 5 minutes to restart. Can't find data from Apple to support my concerns.

I bought an Ibook G3 two weeks ago. Its got mac 10.4.11 on it. Its processor is 600 mhz, and its memory is 192 mb sdram. It worked fine when I got it. Basically it keeps freezing repeatedly, and nothing unfreezes it. When I do command option, escape. it either does nothing, or the screen goes completely haywire. Then sometimes when I restart it, the screen is completely black, and I have to restart it over and over again until the screen comes up again. Sometimes when it is running the screen goes haywire (meaning all of the colors turn into lines) and then it goes away. I know the battery is weakening and is about to go, but all this happens with or without the battery. I also tried removing all power sources and holding the power button for 60 seconds but that didn't work either.
So I called the company that sold it to me, and they told me I need to restore it and buy a disc of that version of mac. They said I must have downloaded something that didn't agree with it. But could that really make the screen go black? I really need a second opinion before I go ordering anything. Bc if I do, by the time I get the disc it will probably be too late to return it if it doesnt work. I have tried to get anything that I have downloaded removed,and it is still freezing. Is there any way to get straight to everything I have downloaded and trash it all without having to order the disc? I mean I've only had it two weeks. Most of the things I downloaded were from the apple website.
This has happened to my laptop once before and I had to replace my hard drive. First of all I'm running Tiger 10.4.11 with Safari 4.1.3. Basically I'll just be online, using Safari and suddenly it "quits unexpectedly." There's no one thing that I do that makes this happen either. The same thing was happening a while back and it began happening more an more frequently until my computer wasn't running and I had to replace my hard drive. Now its happening again!

I am having some serious issues with QT 7. It was originally working, then I added a number of new codecs/ plugins to the Library/Quicktime directory. These were taken from a friends mac whose QT7 was working fine. Then quicktime began not to work even after repairing disk permissions.I decided to totally remove QT 7 using AppCleaner, then repaired disk permissions again and reinstalled QT7.Now everytime I run QT7 it crashes after a second or so.I am fairly mac savvy and am capable of using terminal if needs be. I cannot login into the iTunes-Store or iTunes-Account on my MacBook Pro. The following problem occures:
1) I type in the correct Apple-ID and password,
2) my Apple-ID appears in the left corner in iTunes - but nevertheless:
3) iTunes repeatedly asks for my password - again and again. I am absolutely sure that I typed in the correct password, because I also use the same Apple-ID + password on my iMac and everything is fine on the iMac (but not on my MacBook Pro).Â
Additional information:My girlfriend and me use the same mac + itunes to log in with each our Apple-IDs: The same problem for her on my MacBook. I already reinstalled the newest iTunes Version from apple.comOn my iMac everything works fine (with both accounts).Â
