View 2 RepliesThis is like my 4th thread since I've tried to update my hard drive. I got everything restored from Time Machine. BUT! Now, when I go to launch iPhoto, it just says the application quit unexpectedly. I've tried restarting and resetting. It's quite like 12 times.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was previously running Leopard with iPhoto '08. With this setup all .mov format movies that I took with my digital camera imported into iPhoto along with the pictures. They showed up in thumbnail view along with the pictures and I could launch the movies in Quicktime by double-clicking on the movie thumbnail in iPhoto.
After upgrading to Snow Leopard (but still using iPhoto '08) the video thumbnails still show up, but double-clicking on them does nothing. Double-clicking on image thumbnails still opens the image as normal. I can still view the movies by right-clicking, selecting "show file," and then double-clicking on the movie thumbnail in Finder.
My wife's computer (PowerBook G4) won't load iPhoto. It gets to the "loading photos" screen, then promptly crashes. I have run permission repair but everything was perfect

Intel-based iMac running 10.5.6
iPhoto launches normally and without error in the main (original) user account.
When subsequent accounts are created and logged into, iPhoto is shown on the dock and finder with the generic app icon. When clicked, the icon bounces once, and nothing happens. All other iLife apps operate normally.
Once switched back to main user account, iPhoto icon shows normally in the dock/finder, and operates normally.
When I insert my thumb drive (usb) iphoto launches. It doesn't offer to import, just gets in my way! I'm sure there are a few photos on the drive, but the bulk of what's on there is other data types, text, pdf, a bunch of stuff. So can I make iphoto stop launching?
View 7 Replies View RelatedA little over a week ago I did a software update--not sure what exactly was updated. Since then, Software Update, Safari, Pages, Numbers, iPhoto (not sure yet what else) won't open. Within seconds of clicking the icon to launch, they crash with the message, "Pages quit unexpectedly." I tried restarting MANY times. Is my computer toast? My other applications still work like Word, Firefox...

This might be a coincidence but I set up a new 2Tb Time Capsule today and assumed all was working as planned. I setup Time Machine to refer to the Time Capsule drive and the backups have been performed in keeping with the schedule etc. My issue is that for some reason the Disk Utility doesn't display. The icon will bob in the dock and then after that nothing happens. Like I said, coincidence? Latest OS X Lion 10.7.4 with one External HD attached and working as expected. In fact I used the Disk Utility only two days ago to format said external drive.

i have returned all my photos into the new iphoto 9.1.However they aren't displayed the way they used to be. The computer is ignoring all the dates i entered on the individual film rolls and displaying them with date that's embedded on the digital images. An example is i have a film roll which contains photos of my cat Salem which range from 2004 to 2012. This 'folder' used to be displayed at the bottom of all the film rolls as i had it dated 12/25/2020 so i knew where it was and could add to it easily. Now though it's near the top lumped together with 2004 photos dated 2004-2012.How do i get iPhoto to display my photo film rolls the way they were on iphoto 6?I would go back to running TIiger and the apps that came with it including iPhoto 06 but i need snow leopard as i have bought two new Lacie 2 TB drives for storage and they need a newer operating system.

On MacBook Pro Retina, running, OS X 10.9.3, this problem recently started to occur:
Upon launching Apple Mail. the InBox will briefly display the messages in the mailbox, then clear the messges and reload from the mail server. Depending on the number of messages in the Inbox, this can take some time.
This only occurs if an internet connection is available. Otherwise, the mail stays put.
I have tried deleting and recreating both the mail server mailbox and the Apple Mail account (not at the same time), without success.

I reinstalled my applications from a disk, and have lost iphoto completely. Where I can find it and my library - they still seem to be taking up hard disk space, so I am assuming its a matter of locating them. But they're not in the Applications folder. (I do have back up but not the last two months...which I'd like to get back).
