I used to be able to download clips from YouTube by clicking on large files (over 5mb). Large files are no longer available and therefore downloading clips is no longer possible.
Very new to iMac, been using Toshiba, Dell, Sony all this time. Usually I just go to [url]... to download youtube videos....but I can't seem to be able to do it now with this iMac....am I missing a plug in?
i'm looking for a program where I can take a YouTube clip and get just the sound from it. I have Miro right now and unless I'm missing something I've only found how to rip the video from YouTube and it puts it in a .flv format
I know how to dl on a PC but how I would I do it on a Mac? On PC, I play the MP3 and a file dl to your temp file. On Mac how would I go about it? Is is the same as the Activity monitor when you want to dl a video from YouTube?
I have been editing compound clips and when I get half way through i notice early clips in the timeline are missing. So if there is clips ABCD in a connected clip, it will be now AC and the other clips are now gone. I've pressed undo until i saw when they were deleted and it seems when i'm selecting clips later in the timeline it selects earlier clips and deletes them with the clips i want to delete. This is causing a major headache as it seems to be random, I can't replicate it on demand, but it happens eventually in ever compound clip I create. I haven't noticed it while editing a project.
I have recently started learning to how to use FCE. I've got quite far with my first project and am at the point where I want to move some clips around the timeline. I do want to move clips inbetween other clips, rearranging their order, not deleting them. But whenever I drag a clip to fit splice in between two other clips, it just deletes whats underneath.
Can I import clips to FCP X at 180 degrees rather than flipping the clips individually once they are imported? I have about 300 clips all recorded upside down and i am looking for an easy solution.
I am having a very hard time downloading youtube videos.
I have an app that will take out the video and turn the audio into mp3 which works perfectly
but I do not have an app that will download the video to view it at a later time.
I used to use Jdownloader , but downloading stops with a message saying "Aborted" , and sometimes when it is downloaded , the video will be corrupted with a blackout.
Before I ask my question I must state that I know very little about computers. Is there a way to download videos from Youtube that would be fairly simple?
I'm uploading videos i've shot with my camera, edited and uploaded to YouTube in HD. I do plan on making a backup with an external HD but don't have access to it till I go back home in a few months, so was wondering how can I download my own videos from YouTube, preferably in HD? Currently i've been using the programs "iSky Free Video Downloader" & "Tooble."
So I am trying to download a video, which is online only and I was wondering if there is any way to do that? I have a slow internet and it would be nice to have it on my computer so I can watch it whenever i want it. Here is the link, for other videos you have to pay so I am guessing they disabled any sort of ways that let people to download them but maybe there is a software that would let me download this videos. Does anyone know of such things?
a colleague of mine has an older MacBook with Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Safari 4.x. She can use the Activity window in Safari to download a YouTube video, but after the download is finished (20MB or 6MB or ...), the downloaded file is called "videoplayback", without the .flv suffix. Even if she appends the .flv suffix, she can't play them back in VLC or SWF + FLV Player.
It's no biggie, as she can use KeepVid, but I was just curious, why it is that way. Does anyone know?
i have an older Mac osx g5. On my pc i had a Real Player downloader at the bottom of every video i watched. I cannot figure out how to do this on my Mac?
I have noticed that it is taking too long to download YouTube videos. I have tried a few things: emptied cache, reset Safari, downloaded OnyX and cleaned everything up I could. I also reset my wireless router, but those have not worked. I have also updated Adobe FlashPlayer, Flip4Mac, and checked for new updates from Apple. With all of that, nothing has seemed to work. Not sure what to do next.
What has happened to video downloads in YouTube? In the Activity window I used to be able to option double click on the video file and it would download so that I can view offline. Now I notice that video files are broken into 1.7MB pieces and have an expiry time (I think(?)). Is this YouTube's attempt at controlling piracy? So how can someone download these videos for offline viewing? I don't do this to pirate anything.
Its simply that its more convenient to have it on my disk for a short period of time so that I can view it when offline or want to have much quicker access to the video e.g. I have been following some tutorials on playing the guitar. Often I need to start and stop and search through the video for a particular segment. If I have to wait for the video to load from YouTube it takes some seconds or minutes which can be quite frustrating.

I have been trying to download adobe flash player so I can use youtube. I install it, open it in my downloads, Click install adobe Flash player, and then click open when it asks me if I want to open application downloaded from the internet. After I click open I put in my password, click next, then as adobe trys to download it will get to 50% the stop and say Safari needs to be closed to continue. However safari and everything is already closed. I am able to download Adobe Flash Player.

I'm working on an iMovie project. How do I share the relevant clips and project with another user on the same computer? I recently upgraded from leopard to lion.
