View 14 Replies View RelatedNew to iMac, just trying to do something I could do on the PC without any trouble. Can't seem to get the burn folder to burn to a new CD-R. Can't seem to get the iMac to recogmize that there is a CD in the drive.
Have tried more than one CD. It does eject, but stalled out on the transfer.
I miss my PC. this has taken an hour for something that should be--well--easy.

I have a 21.5in iMAC (mid 2010) and I keep trying to burn a disc with photos on it. It appears to be burning normally at first then during the second half of the burn (the verification bit) it starts making clunky noises and then ejects the CD. I've tried several new blank discs and several different makes as well, and it spits them all out. It says 'error code 0x80020063' I can read CDs fine.Â

I have finished a long and complex HS Grad Party Video on i Movie...(Party is only 12 days away)Â
After much trial and error, it looks pretty good. So, I then press "iDVD" in order to burn a DVD disc.I get no response from computer...Â
Why doesn't Apple support burning DVD's from iMovie? Is there another, low cost software solution? What good is the iMovie product without ability to show the movie thru a burned DVD?

I have a Intel Xeon Mac Pro and I've been able to put XP and Vista on it without issue, but am now trying to put Win 7 on it and every time after doing the initial installing files and then reboot, it comes to a blue screen and reboots very quickly.
Has anyone run into this and if so have you found a work around?
For more info, I created a Windows partition in Leopard using the Boot Camp utility and divided my drive equally. Then I insert the Win 7 disc and click on the start install and it reboots. I select the Boot Camp partition and format it. It copies files and does the install process and eventually gets to a point where it reboots and goes to load the Win 7 OS and this is when it blue screens.
I have done all the firmware updates on my Mac Pro, I even tried it on another Mac Pro with the same results.
I've redownloaded the iso direct from MS and burned it using different brand disc and using a different burning app. I tried the 64bit version also and whenever I use that version it comes up asking me what CD drive, 1 or 2, I can't enter in a 1 or a 2 or do anything at all but turn the machine off. I even tried it on another Mac Pro with the same result.
I tried removing the OS X drive and having only 1 hard drive in the system that's just for installing Win 7 to, all to no avail. Every time with the 32bit version I get a blue screen and every time with the 64bit version I get the "which cd drive" screen and cannot do anything but power off the machine.
I was able to do an upgrade from Vista after installing Vista SP1 but after it completed and tried to load the Win 7 OS for the first time it again blue screened.
My Imac has the dreaded blue screen on start up. To avoid this, I unplug the machine each night which solves the problem. I have contacted an Apple service rep who says I need to replace the hard drive. Nothing I have read indicates this. I have not added new hardware, not changed anything. Could it be my hard drive is bad?Â

I'm trying to boot a relatively new intel iMac. I can boot to a blue screen, in which all that happens is the music that happens with the welcome video of mac OS X. Â
I currently have no keyboard to do diagnostics with because I don't have the wireless keyboard that came with the mac, nor a wired keyboard. I'm planning on borrowing a simple wired keyboard to use to diagnose the mac in verbose mode and safe mode etc.Â
The owner of the mac has done a complete reinstall, hence the welcome video music, and that hasn't worked, as the screen shows no sign of anything other than blue.

Can i watch blue-ray movies with my IMAC 21,5 i5?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using Safari on my iMac, but suddenly started to go slow, with the typical multicolor ball. After this, and because i cannot do anything more with the computer i tried to restart it, but never finished the process.
Finally I restarted the computer manually, but after that appeared a folder with a "question" mark on loading screen. I tried to start the computer on Safe Mode, and was possible. Then I checked the hhd with disk utility and appears ok.Well, i tried again to restart and the computer seems to load IOs, but finaly still on a blue screen with a working wheel apearing at times.
Then i restarted again on safe mode to try to do a new backup (the computer was going well, and i was so stupid to use the backup hdd for another use) but when it's only at 200mb, more or less, time machine says that there is an error and stops.

After a few minutes of rebooting the machine i will use spotlight and it will be very flickery. Like when updating results, the blue bar flickers white and blue very quickly and almost unnoticeable. Also, related, when scrolling a list in the dock through a stack shown in list mode, it flickers a lot there as well. Is this normal behaviour for these machines/leopard in general? I'm used to using a crappy old iBook so i dont know if im just being pedantic.
