Oct 20, 2009I checked on the internet, but none of the download links were valid, all expired. I had the whole of Preview on my desktop, instead of an alias, and I accidentally deleted it. So could someone please send me it using an online download link (I don't want to get out my installation disk).

ITunes For Mac :: The Application Can't Be Found?
Dec 1, 2014I've successfully moved from a Mac Pro (2,1) to a Mac Mini (6,2), running OS 10.9.5 and iTunes 12.0.1.26. There were several glitches during the move, but I finally associated my iTunes folder, now on an external HD, with the application using the option key during launch method. Everything works, iPhones, iPads, iPods all sync properly, all the playlists are there and play all songs, the App Store and iTunes Store function normally using my single Apple ID.Â
Just one problem.Â
When I try to play content from within the iTunes Music [Media] folder, either by double-clicking on a track or by control-click "Open With", I get an error message "The Application Can't be Found".Â
My iTunes Library goes back to iTunes 3 and contains over 350 GB media. This new behavior is worrying, because I don't understand why moving the iTunes Folder should have caused this.

Software :: IMovie Application Not Found In Location / Applications
Mar 28, 2009An eligible iMovie application was not found in the location /Applications. My 17" Macbook Pro CAME WITH imovie '08 (which never worked), however I downloaded the 7.1.4 version and it worked fine. Recently I had to reinstall my entire OS X software system, which erased all my files. When I did, the bundle did NOT include imovie '08, nor can I get imovie 7.1.4 to work! All I get is this message instead. What can I do, and is there a way to recover my itunes library since my ipod is registered with Apple and itunes, however, now all my music is gone.

Nov 4, 2010For the past few days, when I try to click on a URL link from an email, Firefox will open up but not to the link. I have to right click and copy link and then paste it into the location bar. Very frustrating.
I have also noticed that when I double click on a .html file from Finder, I get a pop up window asking me if I want to open it up and I click "yes" (this is normal), however, once I do that, nothing happens, but if I double click it again, it will open up in Firefox. And each time I do that for each file, the file is not opening up in a new tab, but in a new session of Firefox (my preference for this is set to new tab instead of new window).
I have checked both Firefox and Mail preferences but can't find anything about links to assist/guide me. Any and all advice is welcomed because I am stumped.

Jun 20, 2012I have three mail accounts setup in Apple Mail app: Gmail, work email and Me.com email. Whenever I receive an email with a hyperlink in it I hover over the link and it displays the hyperlink address with "blocked" added to the beginning. Once I click on the link I receive a message which says "Error: No associated application could be found". This happens no matter which email account I am accessing and works with both http and https type links. I recall having a similar problem using MS Outlook on a Windows machine.Â

Mar 16, 2012Mail has been working well for a year on a mac air. mail had been running on my computer yesterday and, I assume it crashed, because when i got home and opened the computer mail was no longer open. and when I opened it it started running me through setup as if i had never used the program.there was no way to open mail without going through the setup -- that seems to be a problem to me right there.I kept canceling the setup but then it wouldn't launch mail. so finally i went through setup and resetup one of my email accounts. the name of the inbox is slightly different althought , as it turned out, the name of the outbox is identical.
the program recognized that there was already any outbox with this name but instead of linking with that in some way it instead named the new outbox "delivered" that's cool to avoid a conflict but there doesn't appear to be any way to tell the program just to reconnect with the previous boxes. I can import them but then then they come in an import folder. I'd like to get all my mail for a certain account into the same folder, not have what is essentially an archive folder for each account and an active one.
how to reconnect to these old mailboxes as active accounts, or how when importing to merge the appropriate mailbox with the appropriate account.or to restore mailbox settings/preferences or users or whatever was lost. I do have a backup that includes my library files to sugarsync if there is some kind of restore I could try.

Feb 12, 2010I've been trying unsucessfully to open an e.mail account on my Entourage 2004. My server's POP and Smtp ( ya.com)( Spanish) never works so I tried my G.mail account. Have managed to transfer the inbox over using pop.gmail.com But impossible to Send an mail, beeps and buzzes for 2 minutes then tells me it cant find my server. For outgoing should I use smtp.gmail.com or smtp.adsl.ya.com. Or am I missing something in the set up.

Apr 13, 2012I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro running OS Lion (10.7.3) and in the last two weeks I face the following problem with the Mail application and my Yahoo mail account: although the account appears in the side bar of the application and it will search for new messages when I launch the Mail app, it doesn't load any messages and I also realised that all Mailboxes of the named account are blank! The messages appear normally when I reach my account through the Yahoo page! I tried to remove and re-import the account in the Mail app, but it just worked for two days and now the Mailboxes are blank again! I have no problems with the other two mail accounts I reach through the same application (both POP accounts).

After closing the attachment window and opening Finder, I can see the file. I then drag it into the email message. Sometime later if I click on the paper clip the file is where I originally expected it to be.

May 19, 2012A few days ago, ClamXav detected infected files when scanning my mail data base. One of wich was a phishing kind of mesage, and the other was defined as a trojan. It turns out that they were mesages from 2009, by the time when i had a G5 Power PC. I've never open theme, nor clicked the links attached. Now i have a new Mac, but those mails are still in the data base; i think they migrated from my imap account. Any way, i red the ClamXav developper's page and he says that its not advisable to trash out or put this kind of files into quarantine. it bothers me that they still remain in my user's library.

May 16, 2012I'm a new Mac-user having used PC:s for 25 years. On my Windows Desktop it was easy to place new icons with shortcuts to websites I often visit. I have tried to do this on my Mac, creating Bookmarks, exporting them to Desktop. Iicons appear. But when clicked they don't connect with the webaddresses I have given.
I have read Q&A from someone who tried to give similar shortcuts to customers, but I did not understand the answers. I'm Swedish and Mac Keyboard and Desktop menues etc are in Swedish so the exact terms in English may be difficult to translate. My problem is different since it's only on my Mac I need the shortcuts/icons/links.

Jun 6, 2012I have a imac (intel) running snow lepord - i was using the maching when it froze up with the dreaded spinning wheel. I left the computer sit for 45 min with no change then powered down using the power button. I let sit for a few min. then restarted using the power button. A screen showed up with a folder with question mark flashing. I looked in support and saw that I should try a few different things and then got to the section...if this doesn't work put the DVD startup in the computer and hold C while starting. I did this, went into disk utility (as the directions stated) and once there my harddrive is nowhere to be found.I am guessing my HD is out but not really sure.This Imac is less than 1.5 years old and has already had one HD go out.
