Since installing Yosemite (10.10.1) I cannot keep the Dock and the Banner Toolbar visible unless I move my mouse to the top or bottom of screen.
My Current settings:
>System Preferences>Dock: the 'Automatically Hide and Show the Dock' is unchecked.
Safari>View: Sdebars are all hidden; Status Bar and Favorites Bar are set to 'Show'. I am in 'Full Screen' but in the upper right corner of the screen, I have no arrows (another Support Post suggested that there should be two arrows facing each other??).
how to keep Dock and the top-level toolbar visible?

When I hide the Toolbar (to conserve space) I can't open the Downloads list neither from menu nor with a keyboard shortcut. When I temporarily show the Toolbar by pressing cmd + l and press the downloads button, the list pops up but then hides and scrolls the window up.
When I show the Toolbar permanently and click on the Downloads icon, the list appears partially in my screen's bottom left corner. This is definitely a bug but I don't know where to submit it.

I have Lion 10.7.2 and am running Safari version 5.1.2, hopefully I am good so far. I'm not sure what hapenned, I must have done something, but one day my address bar decided it wanted to play hide and seek and it won....the "show toolbar" option does nothing upon clicking it, neither does the "customize toolbar" option.

20 gigs of my HDD is missing. I had a 20 gig torrent, but I deleted that (it wasn't fully downloaded), and the only other thing I have downloaded was (accidently) the 1.1 gig Garageband extra sounds etc and the Safari 4 update. Any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI clicked on my HD and I have 124.5 Used and 61.51 Free, which adds up to 186.01. I then clicked on Macintosh HD and selected all the files and hit "Get Info." It all adds up to 117.5 GB. I'm missing about 7 GB and I don't know where it is. Are there some hidden files or something?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using Microsoft Office for Mac 2008, which has been performing fine for many months. Now all of a sudden the icons are missing on my toolbars. All that it shows in the toolbar window, (both standard and format toolbars), is the text without the icons, with just a blank dark area where the tool icons should be, leaving the toolbar impossible to use in any practical way. No amount of selecting or de-selecting the toolbars via drop down window "view", or changing the option for "text and icons", or "resetting the toolbars in customise will change this situation. The problem has occurred in all of "word", "excel", "PowerPoint" and Entourage. I have tried reinstalling office from the original CD, but the problem persists. I have even quarantined the normal.dotm file before reinstalling office, but it simply created a new "normal" file with the same result. No icons on the toolbars. I am using OS X leopard. I haven't yet resorted to reinstalling leopard, but what else is there?!? Any clues to what has caused this to suddenly occur?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe time and date, wifi and other icons are missing from the toolbar. Other icons are missing from the finder window and the dismiss and minimize icons are missing from all windows. I have tried to delete the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file and also tried to reboot in safe mode to no avail. When I do reboot, the some, but not all, of the top bar icons appear then disappear. It must be a plist file but I haven't a clue as to which one...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've just acquired a new MacBook Pro with all the trimmings, and I've been importing my iTunes library from my old Windows PC, for the most part successfully.
The one missing piece is that iTunes for Mac does not have a Books icon in the ULH corner toolbar, and when I go into Preferences there's no category "Books" for me to check.

Under purchases I'm getting "you have not purchased any apps." Under Itunes in the Cloud all my apps are listed as hidden but when I click "view hidden purchases" it says I do not have any hidden purchases. I have three Macs and all are experiencing the same issue so this is an account problem and not a computer software problem. The funny thing is that it's still recognizing updates.Yes, I've tried signing out and back in to view my account with no luck. The only thing I did weird last night was I disabled the Itunes store and automatic downloading on one computer. This morning when I had the above problem I put all the settings back.

Iphoto is no longer available to me after upgrading to Lion. Is this an error or something expected? How to reinstall it or is there something else I should install or buy?

After installing OS X Lion on my Imac (middle 2007)
start up is very slow. Screen stays white with grey progress bar very slow to complete.
Then, after maybe 15 minutes, the desk screen appears and the Imac seems to work normally. I had upgraded the RAM to 3 Go before installing OS X Lion.

"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
I get this error during the Windows 7 setup, right after I begin the installation (occurs in the middle of "step 1" of the two steps that Windows organizes the installation into)
Does anybody have a solution for this? I'm putting in the most recent Windows 7 release onto my mac, have a partition, etc. etc.....nothing seems to be working. Just seeing if anybody has a fix. Tomorrow (I've been trying to do this for a week and am going absolutely nuts) I'm going to but the Windows 7 iso onto my USB and see if that works grumble grumble
I need to install snow leopard on intel imac that is already running lion. I have created new partition and try to boot off of Install Disk 10.6.4 but it never completely comes up all the way to start install.

I have the edu version of Windows 7 64 bit home. I'm using Fusion 3 and am trying to install Windows 7 as a new machine. I'm running from the ISO Win 7 file that I dl'd from here, which is 5.43 gb in size.
When I start the new machine process, it begins the installation but then hangs with the following error message: A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step.
My HP 3210 printer files use PowerPC software. As a result of installing Lion, they have been disabled. What should I do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded to SL and have a few issues. I am still kinda new to OSX even though I've had an iMac for a a few years. I mainly was using Windows 7 on Bootcamp, but now want to really get to know OSX.
First, in Leopard there were icons on the desktop for my MAC hard drive and my Windows hard drive. But after installing SL they aren't on there. I liked the idea of having them on the desktop for quick access. Can someone let me know how to get them back on the desktop?
Second I have a Razer DeathAdder mouse I use. I have the latest OSX drivers installed. This problem I've had with Leopard and Snow Leopard is that even though I've set the tracking speed under System Preferences, after rebooting the tracking goes all the way back to down the the lowest setting. I've tried setting it in the DeathAdder's software and in the regular preferences in OSX but after reboot it always goes back down. It is annoying cause it tracks way to slow and I have to manually up it a few notches whenever I boot up.
Recently did a reinstall of Lion and restored with Time Machine. My menu bar is hidden. How can I make it show all the time?

I have somehow managed to install something called InstallMac on my Mac and can't find a way to get rid of it. It has taken over Safari and will only let me use its search engine. How can I remove this without anti-malware software?
Is there a uninstall software section like on Windows?
I did a search for a downloaded file. Result came back Home>Library>Filename. Cool. Problem is this: When I go to Home, there is no file named Library, nor is there a mail downloads file. Is the file hidden and, if so, how do I show it?
