i am running awin7 in bootcamp. in this bootcamp i am using outlook 2010. i cannot create an "@" in emails. is there any shortcut to create an @? is there any combination to create the windows "alt gr" on the macbook air keyboard?
Info:
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Would have checked this myself but I haven't gotten around to installing Boot Camp 3.1 yet.
Anyone with a uMBP try to see if Boot Camp 3.1 allows the keyboard light to completely shut off in Windows 7?
I described it more here.
Having problems with the Audio, Brightness and eject button keys after windows xp automatic update. Buttons sometimes work after a shutdown and restart, sometimes not. Tried the Bootcamp 2.1 reinstall but didnt help much. Where the heck can i get drivers for the bloody thing?
Apologies for the lingo but im quite frustrated. it takes apple yrs to fix one problem but only for another to appear.
I already gave up on Realtek doing something about their crappy sound quality (despite releasing a new driver every two weeks) and the mighty mouse freezing after hibernation unless u press the left button like a man possesed!!
As far as I understand there is a bug that stops Windows 7 or Vista from showing up in the Start Up disk options in the preference settings.
So the only option is to go through the boot menu selection but unfortunately I am using the Apple wireless keyboard and holding the option key down doesn't bring up the boot selection screen. Is there anything I can do ... or am I forced to use a USB keyboard for now ?
For the record I have the Wireless Keyboard and Mighty mouse paired and working in Windows 7 ( The keyboard has occasional lag from the first keystroke input but is fine from then ) Its just that I get no response from keystrokes during boot up.
I need some help. just recently got a new macbook pro. 15 inch 2.66 i7 model. i partitioned my harddrive and installed windows with bootcamp... windows loads just fine, only issue is my keyboard and track pad are not working. i've tried plugging in keyboards and a mouse via usb and they still dont work. i've started in safe mode and still nothing. has anyone had this issue before? know any way to fix it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm a 25-year PC user looking to switch to iMac that also runs Windows 7 virtually. Wondering if there are recommended keyboards that map seamlessly to both Mac to PC programs as I will run these side by side. I'm looking for one with backlit keys, a gaming keyboard would be ok though I am not a gamer.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter installing the bootcamp drivers the backlight will never turn off...I imagine this to be a problem for many but is there any known fix to this issue? The light, even on dim drives me absolutely nuts.
BTW Leopard is on 10.5.8 but I doubt that matters since I'm running in XP with boot camp. Bootcamp application in XP is version 2.1
I installed Windows 7 on my mid 2009 MacBook Pro. Everything is fine except I cannot seem to find a way to turn off the backlit keyboard, it stays on even when the room is lit pretty bright. I did a search and read that using the F8 key should turn it off but that's not working for me. Does anyone have a solution that works?

although i am afraid to say it, i am a windows user as much as a mac user (although i use mainly macs). my dell keyboard recently broke and i want to use a new apple keyboard with it instead of a PC one, mainly because of quality.
i know that this has been covered in the forums before, but i need a bit more convincing.is an apple keyboard able to function fully with windows XP?
will the USB ports work? are there any drivers needed/error messages that people have encountered?sorry to be persistent, but i am going to london tomorrow and shall be spending some time in regent street.
I HATE Apple's way to do macros and keyboard shortcuts (preferences -> keyboard -> keyboard shortcuts). It's ackward, non-intuitive and inefficient.
** C'mon Apple*! **
So I'm now looking for an utility (a prefs pane ?) that define keyboard shortcuts to cycle through all open windows in OS X. I didn't found any yet.
I tend to use alot of my F-keys in Windows through bootcamp, but certain F-keys with secondary functions on the mac keyboard such as changing the brightness or volume up and down (as an example), keep functioning when I press them.
I did shut off the secondary F-key functions in the Mac system preferences, hoping it would stay inactive when I'm in Windows. Unfortunately they still turn my brightness up and down when, let's say, I hit the F1 or F2 keys in Windows.
Does anybody know any way to shut this off in Windows? Does it have to do with any drivers installed?
use visual c++ 2005 in xp under bootcamp using a macbook. Unfortunately I cannot start to write my code as it begins with a hash key. Is there a way to get a hash key on xp with a macbook keyboard?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just have a quick question about Boot Camp.
Is there any way that I can remap my keyboard ONLY when I'm in BootCamp, so that it's like I'm actually on a PC? By this, I just mean that Command = Alt / Option, Alt / Option = the Windows logo key, and Control stays the same? If so, please tell me how, as it's really annoying while gaming, seeing as the games are formatted for a regular PC keyboard.
- How can i turn off keyboard illumination in windows? There's no such option in neither keyboard preferences nor the BootCamp panel. I tried to turn down the keyboard illumination to the lowest possible via the keys but the lowest still illuminates the keyboard.
- It seems that my user account created under Windows does not have full Administrator privileges. I'm trying to get rid of a file and it tells me i don't have Administrator rights to do that. When i go into properties of the file the checkboxes are greyed out and i can't activate administrator rights under my user-name.
How do i gain proper and full Administrator rights? I tried to log out and log in as Administrator but the only user to choose from is the the only one user i created when installed Windows.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been looking into buying an Apple Bluetooth Wireless keyboard (MB167LL/A) for use with my new Macbook. I'm going to be using an external monitor and mouse for more of a desktop setup while I'm at home.
But I wanted to know if the Bluetooth keyboard will still be compatible with my computer when I am running Windows Vista on my mac? I realize that not all of the buttons will be perfect (aka the F keys), much as I'm used to when using my laptop keyboard, but will it work fine for normal tasks and connect correctly?

I've probably had Bootcamp running for almost a six months and last week I got on my Windows like normal. But to my dismay my trackpad, mouse, and keyboard were not responding.
