I have a small server type item and it takes ide drives, i want to get some terrabyte drives and install them with sata to ide adapters.
There is not a lot of room in the top as the container around it slides on it and the ide ports are on the top of the item where the lid slides on,
i need to get some sata to ide adapters that either have flexibility or are long cable type adapters?
My iBook only has USB ports. My Canon Camcorder wants to see a Firewire port to load movies. Never occured to me that Canon and Apple would make incompatible products.

I was not able to power the 23" ACD with the one for a 20" ACD (45W). So, the replacement I need should be at least a 65W unit.
I've seen a video (although in German) of a magnetic USB adapter.
In the video, the girl plugs in a male USB piece into the car's radio and fits a female USB piece on the end of a USB Drive. They magnetically attached and the radio played music.
The magnetic pieces really reminded me of the MagSafe adapter.
Does anyone know where to find the magnetic USB adapter?
I want to use it to simplify docking my MacBook Pro so I only plug in the MagSafe and USB. I'll have input devices, USB sound card, external hard drive and my iPod plugged into the USB hub hidden under the desk.
I have a macbook that is not wireless n enabled. i know i could take apart the macbook and install a new airport card that is and that would work (and probably will one day soon) for the time being would a usb adapter work the same?
Also airport seems to drop its connection pretty frequently and doesn't like to work more than a few feet away from the docking station. I'm hoping it's because the airport card is old. Would an adapter fix this as well?
What is the best way to go about this? I have seen some on Amazon that are dirt cheap but I don't know if they work. This is kinda off topic but will this work with a g4 AGP?

I'm hoping this can be answered with a simple "yup" so here it goes.
I have an 8-core 2008 Mac Pro tower. I need to throw a blu-ray burner in it.
The tower only has IDE interface cables for the two optical drive bays.
Will these play nicely together?
My friend found an old Performa 6300 from 1995. It's fully working aside from the missing ADB mouse. I've been searching for an ADB to USB adapter or even an USB card but to no avail.

I own a wireless printer already that has wireless built in, and would really like to have my A3 printer wilress but I'm having trouble finding a good adapter ( printer server) that is cheap ( i.e. a little more than a good quality USB cable )
Any ideas/reccomendations as to where I can get one ?
I'm going to University next September (hopefully), and I want to be able to play my PS3 on my Macbook display (instead of taking my massive TV).
And I'd also like to be able to connect my freeview box which is a RCA/Scart connection. My PS3 is also RCA/Scart.
I still have a spare 85w Mains adapter and I'd like to be able to use it - my understanding (correct me if I am wrong) is that the MBP will pull the wattage from the mains so a larger one will do no damage. The Apple guy says he wouldn't recommend it (and hence tried to sell me a new 65w one).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a lacie d2 firewire drive (120GB) that I want to upgrade to a 1TB HD, I know that the internal connection on the drive is IDE, however I have not seen drives of 1TB that have IDE connections on them. I have seen these IDE to SATA adapters and I am wondering if it will work for me if I get an internal SATA drive to replace my 120GB, assuming I have enough space to insert the adapter.

Is there a mini dvi to "mini display" adapter?
I have a Rev A Macbook Air with Micro DVI out. With the Micro DVI to DVI-D Dual Link. I am trying to find an adapter from DVI Male to HDMI Female to run to my HDTV.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to pick up a second power adapter for my 13" MacBook Pro to keep in my bag to take with me to work. I don't particularly want to spend the $75ish for an Apple one if I can avoid it. Is there a decent cheaper 3rd party adapter out there that works well?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am on my new 27" iMac last night when all of a sudden the display froze and pix-elated for a second and then went black and a few seconds turned back on with an error message at the bottom right screen saying my display adapter had stopped . . . . .
I was in Windows 7 64bit Professional at the time. I also noticed that Apple is wanting download a newer version of Boot Camp which I will download tonight!
I went to the ATI website and found a new driver dated 4-2010 and downloaded it. All seems well but was wondering if anyone has had the same issue?
I'm new to the forum and honestly am not typically a Mac user. That said, I've been working the last few days with a business partner of mine to help setup his recording studio. They purchased most of the rig, including a Mac Pro 2.8 before they started remodeling the studio a little over a year ago. We're now finally breaking it out and running into an issue.
So in Apple's infinite wisdom, they saw fit to only include 4 expansion slots on this machine (1 for Graphics + 3 Additional PCIe). Right now we've got the NVidia 7300 dual display adapter and 3 DigiDesign interface cards installed, so no available PCIe slots left. The original design of the rig calls for a total of 3 displays connected to the Mac. Obviously this is not possible at the moment given the configuration. So is anyone aware of a graphics adapter, compatible with the Mac Pro, that can output more than 2 displays? I've found countless adapters for PC (Windows & Linux) that can do this but nothing for Mac.
I have been searching forever for a program to convert .avi and other types of files to high def.
View 3 Replies View Relatedis there an adapter for an old Cinema Display to hook up to at PowerPC G4
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook and I want to get a cinema display but I heard that the cinema displays from apple do not work with any other computer.
Does anyone know where I can get an adapter to have the display work with non-macbooks?
Also I posted this question on Apple Forums and they removed it with no answer because it can lead to rumours about new product releases so I am seeing if anyone here has an answer.
I am thinking about buying this adapter for my macbook so i can connect my macbook to a TV. I know that if you connect a minidisplay port to a TV it doesn't transfer the computers sound to the TV speakers. Would this display connection through the USB port transfer sound to a TV.
This is really what I'm looking for in a connector because it would be nice to not have to set up the sound separate from the video.
I might be purchasing a 30 inch cinema display and currently have a mid-2009 unibody MBP. I know I need the cable to power it, but do I need to drop the 100 dollars for the apple one or are their any alternatives?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI use my macbook with an external monitor at home. When I visit my clients, I unplug the cable and travel with just the macbook. When I use the macbook at home, I have it sitting on a cheapo stand that tilts the laptop to improve ventilation at the bottom. I notice that the video adapter cable dangles on the side and this might be introducing some strain on the video connector.
Is there a connector or jig that will reduce this strain? e.g. the cinematic screen uses a connector that combines video and power connection and this seems to be nice and solid. Any such third-party product exist? alternatively, has there been any 'lifehacker' type of solution for this?
I have a MacBookPro, model: A 1278 (Mid-2010 13"). Is its mini-display port capable of delivering both video and audio output to a HDMI adapter? or just video output only?
Info:
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Model No: A1278 (Mid-2010 13")
Is there an adapter that connects a mini DVI to a mini Display port so I can use one computer as an external monitor?

I am about to buy a new 24" iMac. I currently have a Dell 2408WFP 1920*1200 display which I would like to use as a second display for the iMac.
Which Mini Dislpayport to DVI adapter do I need? Single-Link or Dual-Link?
Just a warning, I bought a Mac Mini (2009) and wanted it to hook it up to my TV. My TV does not have HDMI or DVI inputs so I bought a Mini DVI to Video adapter from Apple. But I could not get it to work, then I googled for it and it seems this adapter does not work with 2009 Mac's since it does not output an analog signal anymore!

So anyone that wants to hook up his new Mac to an older TV set with the Video adapter, you are warned.I guess i'll have to buy a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter and then a VGA to SVIDEO converter..
