Hardware :: Type Of Cable To Connect Bose Wave And AP Express?
Jan 26, 2009
I was searching the forums, especially [URL] and it seems that I can't find the appropriate cables to connect these two devices. The Bose Wave has an AUX port, headphone port, and Boselink port, but besides that, no other ports. What cable specifically would I need to stream my itunes over my Bose? I have an Airport Express that supports itunes streaming, I just don't know how to do it.
I have an Xbox 360 set up in my bedroom which is at the opposite end of the house. I have an airport extreme base station (new model) connected to my modem and PC (PC is not wireless, thus why i have it connected).... I have the wireless adapter connected to my xbox 360. I can play online with no lag (game: modern warfare 2) when nobody is on the pc but when someone is on the pc I get very noticeable lag. I guess I am fighting to split the connection with the pc. What is my best solution? 1) Have my ISP boost the speed of my modem. I didn't know if this would help by giving us more speed to fight over. 2) Get an Airport express and set it up closer to my bedroom/xbox 360. Will the express still fight for the connection with my pc like my wireless adapter on the 360? 3) Get the airport express and connect it directly to my 360 with an ethernet cable. Will i still be fighting for connection with the pc?
I have a G4 in my living room and my old PowerMac 7300 in my bedroom. If I want of use either one to go online I have to disconnect one to connect the other. I cannot connect both at he same time. I use broadband cable from Cable Vision in New York. I was told about a router. Can anyone give me advice on the name of good router and whether on not it will slow down the access speed on the internet?
I live in a district where phone lines don't reach, therefore I don't have wire internet: only a 3G modem. Can I use AirPort without a cable? Or could I plug in the USB 3G modem into it instead?
I'm planning to buy an AirPort Express. But I have a question. Can I stream my music wireless from iTunes on my Macbook, without connecting the AirPort Express to an Ethernet cable?
I have been searching around the forum for this answer and I haven't found anything specific. Here is my network setup.
Bedroom: Modem --ethernet-- Airport Extreme --ethernet-- iMac Living Room: Airport Express (Wirelessly Connected to Airport Extreme) currently setup for AirTunes using a bridged connection.
What I want to know are the specifics of running an ethernet cable from my XBOX 360 to the Airport EXPRESS and using that as my internet hook up to get on Xbox Live.
Will iMac 20 hookup to DSL in same manner as Cable? With Cable, the Mac hookups almost automatic...the connection will be direct connect with ethernet cableThe iMac 20 is G4 with OS 10.4.11
My question is if it's possible to connect my MacBook Pro (13") with ethernet connection to my PS3 with an ethernet (or other) cable. So that my PS3 sees my MacBook without using any router, etc... and that I can play movies (e.g. in Blu-Ray) or music that's on my MacBook through my PS3 on my TV?
I've tried Medialink but I guess that's also for wireless streaming also because when I connect my MacBook with my PS3 my PS3 doesn't show up under "devices".
I have a firewire port on my new MBP and my USB ports are pretty much taken with my cellphone charger and my usb hub (for mouse/keyboard/other hard drive). Can I just get a usb to firewire cable to just plug in my new external to that? Also, the HD is portable so does firewire provide power the same way the USB powers the hard drive?
Just got my new iMac and I'd love to be able to connect it to my stereo system. I tried a simple 1/8" to RCA cable to connect it, but its a bit quiet and very staticy. I see that the line out jack is also a digital out jack, but I'm a bit confusde as to what kind of cable I actually require here. My stereo has a coaxial digital input I can utilize, but the iMac doesn't seem like it would have the same type of connector, even if is a digital output.
I need a 6ft DVI to HDMI cable to connect my mini to my TV. Unfortunately these are out of stock at monoprice. Can you suggest any other reputable alternate site where these cables can be bought for a reasonable price?
I have a crossover cable and I need to connect my imac to my macbook so I can download some of my files on my macbook to my new imac. I know I have to go to Preferences > Networks > and change the ethernet settings but I'm not sure what to do.
So I was just wondering, which cables would I need to get the best picture quality out of my soon to be new baseline 13in MBP, and onto my 24in ViewSonic Monitor. [URL]. And where is the best place (online) to buy the cable(s)?
I have multiple problems: a. When I connect a cable to the internet, i am unable to directly login to the internet. I need to go the ISP site, login and then it connects me. I have tried to create some network connections which are not letting me connect directly without requiring a password. PLease note that I have provided the login id and password in the network preferences and created it but unable to login in.
b. Please also let me know how to delete all prior network settings.
I am new to apple and hence only capable of system menu driven capabilities.
I'm here at university and the wifi here sucks! it is so slow, it is working. However there is an ethernet port and I did connect to it this morning. But, this evening I tried connecting again and it wouldnt let me!At my university they require you to put in your student ID and pw in order for you to use the internet for both wi-fi and ethernet. But when i tried this evening it dint ask for my student ID or password. I went to settings and it did say that there was a connection and that "Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the Internet"
i dont understand how come now it isnt working. I aksed my classmate nextdoor if his internet port was working through the ethernet port he said it was.... i am not that tech savy so keep vocabulary to something simple lmaooo.
I got off a friend a Belkin Wireless DSL/Cable 802.11g Router and I use Mac only and tried to connect at all up followed the instructions but when I was asked to put in the url 192.168.2.1 nothing came up and I am stuck there.
I have a Power Mac G4 MDD that I am trying to connect to the Internet using a USB Cable Modem from Broadstripe Cable in Maryland.
So far I have tried a straight connection using the supplied USB cable, then via an Ethernet adapter from the USB cable to the MDD. Went through the software setup several times and still have had no success. does anyone have a solution for this type of problem?
Could somebody point me to the type of cable I would need to connect a Mac Mini to a standard DVI port? The Mini comes with the necessary adapter, correct?
I have two mac mini's set up side by side, and I want to connect them together with firewire so I can quickly send files from the new one to the old one, acting as a storage hd. What type of firewire cable do I need? one mini the old one has max output of 400, and the new one is 800.
i have a late 07 MBP which i connect to my LCD tv via this cable: [URL] i'm debating about upgrading to the current gen (or possibly wait for the next update), but am wondering what cables are needed to connect to the tv since there's only a mini-display port.
I basically need to connect an older iMac to a new MBP but they both have different FW connections - I always get confused when it comes to cables so if anyone can point me in the right direction it'd be grand,
I just moved into my cousins house, which is a lot closer to my university. For the past year have lived about 20 miles away and fortunately now am under 3 miles away.My current situation (don't wanna call it a problem, hoping we'll find a solution) is that his WiFi network is located on one end of his house, while i'm staying on the other side. His house isn't somewhat big, def. more vast than anything i'm used to...but the WiFi is on the south side of the house. My guest bedroom and small work area is on the north side, i'm guessing 40 or 50ft away.He had WiFi using Charter Cable and won't budge drilling another hole in the middle of the house so I could get reception. Nor will he have a long cable from the south side go to even the middle of the home.
With the recent refresh, I will be picking up the 27 inch. I've read on some threads that people are having a difficult time using the IMAC as a monitor. I plan on purchasing a Motorola DCX3400 and wondering if there is a cable available in the market?
