Hardware :: Print Comes Out Really Light From MacBook
May 25, 2009
I have a macbook, just got it recently. I have been trying to print, have an epson photo r1800. Everything comes out really light. Tried to change the colour, tried diff programs, same every time. The printer works fine on other computers. Someone said something about the software being out of date but I cant seem to find the right one for my laptop. The website only has it for lower models.
I have a pdf that I must print to buy a home. It will not print as is. I shot screen shots, brought them into Photoshop, made them jpgs and adjusted the gamma to make them very black and white. Â
It helped but the pages cannot be read. There is plenty of ink in the printer.Â
I need to send this paperwork tomorrow with a check...Â
I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â
When I am in a quiet room, I notice a light humming coming from my macbook pro and also a light vibration on the right side. Is this just the hd spinning or something to be concerned about? it is 2 weeks old.
I have had difficulty in attaching my HP Photosmart C5580 printer to my new MacBookPro (OSX 10.6) through my Netgear WGPS606 print server. After much searching I found previous posts here which advised me to add the Gutenprint driver 5.2.6 which I did. That finally DID successfully attach the printer through the server.
However, there is a lag of many seconds (sometimes minutes) between the SEND command and the starting of the printer. Is this the new normal that I need to expect or is there a fix?
Is there a way to force Safari to print what I see on a webpage, and not default to the print style? I'm trying to print a graphically-rich site and the print.css doesn't cut it, making everything look like trash (unformatted text, etc.).
When I print multiple checks they print in the wrong sequence. If I have checks 401, 402 and 403 in the printer in that order, they print 403, 402 and 401. How can I change this to print not collated?
I'm trying to print an Excel 2004 .xls spreadsheet file where I'm using to record attendance for the class I teach.I have my main Column A with Rows A-X and it shows up fine, I imagine because there is content in the boxes.
But I also have Columns B-L and rows A-X with nothing in their cells, but when I print it, they won't print.I need these blank because I'll check them off if the child in the first column attended the lesson. How do I make it so my many blank cells will print as well?
I'm new to Mac OS X, but have been working with Linux for almost 9 yrs now. I have set up a Linux box with CUPS 1.3.9. I can print from the server, and from other Linux stations to that remote server. However, I can't print from a client MacBook.
I set up CUPS on the client Mac via http://localhost:631 and created a printer associated with the remote queue / printer on Linux (the URL I use on OS X is http://mylinuxserver:631/printers/hpprinter and the driver is RAW).
I have no problems sending a test page from the CUPS web interface on Mac OS X to the Linux server -- the test page gets printed OK. However, I can't see the printer I just defined from other Mac OS X apps, and neither can I see it from the Add Printer Dialog on System Preferences (it's empty).
I tried creating the printer at the Add Printer dialog, but it would neither let me specify an HTTP URL (as far as I know, I had to use the IP icon on the toolbar) nor specify "RAW". So I tried creating a "dummy" printer in the Add Printer dialog, with a basic config, and then changing it from the CUPS web GUI. This didn't work either, since when I went back to the Add Printer dialog, the printer was gone.

I'm using a MacBook, Mac OS 10.5.8. I've downloaded the driver for HP LaserJet m1319f MFP and the printer worked fine when I connect it directly to my MacBook (using USB connection). The problem is that printer is supposed to be connected to our office network users through a TP-Link Print Server (TL-PS110U). I've tried to use AppleTalk to connect to that print server but my MacBook only recognized that HP printer as a HP Fax machine and I can't print anything.
The Excel program I'm trying to print Excel 2008, Microsoft Office 2008, identifies the problem as a 'driver' issu and thus will not print the spreadsheets.
i'm trying to print some stuff off using adobe and some parts are printing, but some aren't. I've had this problem before i would print of some formula sheets for my finance class and basically if it wasn't a letter it wouldn't print it off but now it's taking out a lot more.
in the first picture you can see how i went through and wrote the stuff in, wasn't that big of a deal.
second picture is one page from the file that printed out fine
third picture, the entire top part is supposed to have a paragraph on it.
Is there any thing available that will allow me to print to a PDF file? I'm trying to export something to a PDF file that does not have the feature as standard. I know it can be done in Windows as there are a few Print to PDF applications. but I can't find a Mac one.
I recently noticed something rather peculiar about my MacBook. When I put my computer to sleep, the sleep light never does what it used to. As far as I remember, the light is supposed to very bright, then go dim, and then go back to being bright correct? Well, since I installed the latest OS X update, I've noticed that my sleep light never gets dimmer. It just stays on full brightness all the time.
My Macbook Pro randomly shut off (I don't think it was low on battery, but I can't be 100% sure.) Now when I plug in the charger, the light on the charger is green for about 6 seconds, then goes to red and stays red. I cannot turn on the computer, and there is no sign that it is even charging.
I'm looking for a really small, lightweight USB drive to use with my new Macbook Air. I take a backup of my office before I leave to work at home and I don't want a massive stick so what's a small stick that can hold 4GB? I know the Sony Microvault tiny is now discontinued, why is this?
does anyone notice that sometimes the screen light will dim over time? (new alum unibody macbook)
is it because sometimes i use a lamp really close to the laptop vs other times using a far away light source? does the brightness change automatically?
i sometimes increase the light to full..and then maybe 2 days later...i find it is 2 notches lower..without me doing anything...
This has been bugging me and it'll be another week or two until I can get my hands on one. So, what's the little light (if it is even a light) on the right hand side of the front of the unit?
Hello, I tried searching the forums for my problem, but have not found it. I have a week old 13 Macbook pro 2.53. The problem I am having is when I set the keyboard backlight to "Never" turn off it still does. I even set it to 5 minutes and it still shuts off at like 4. I have tried disabling it etc...and it still turns off when set to "Never".
No clue, what happened, but i plugged in some headphones, and they wouldn't go in.. took it out and saw that some red light was on. Did a SMC and reset the PRAM..
Yesterday my keyboard would light up, but today when I hit the F5/F6 keys to light up the keys, It won't light them, and it will show the icon with a no sign.
The on light at the front of the base (right edge) went out. I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro 13 inch. The apple on the cover side of the monitor still comes on. Oddly enough, this happened right after I installed a trial of Photoshop version 13.0.0 Beta. Should I just have the light replaced or could this be a signal of other problems? I don't have a lot of new stuff installed since I'm coming from a pre intel mac desktop.

I recently bought a new MacBook Pro from Apple (2011 October Model) and i've gone to turn it on today and the charger does not light up, nor does it charge the battery any ideas?

on January 2012 I bought a new macbook pro for about a month now my keyboard has been having problems as in some days it will work and some days the icon will have an x through it when i try lighting up the keyboard. I really don't know why this is happening and how I can get this fixed
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), nothing was spilt on it
I bought this Late 2007 macbook off of craigslist, and it was working perfectly. But after a little water got mon my macbook and charger, I plugged it in and it had a bright green light and wouldn't charge. The Next day I plugged it in and it only had a dim green light, it wouldn't Start up without the battery, or run without it. Now all I need is the battery in it to start it up and it will run off of the charger, But it still has that dim green light. The charger is a little Damaged, Photo's In the attachments. My dog chewed on it a while back. This is my first macbook, And the dvd drive is not working, but I have managed to reinstall SL with USB, So it is not a software problem.
When I turn my brightness all the way down, there's still a barely (but clear, still) lit circle at the centre of my screen. I have a 13'' mbp. I can even see my cursor and move it around. This spot, at very low screen brightness, appears kind of yellowish. When I turn the brightness up, it is not noticeable. The circle part has roughly a two inch diameter.
I've had the mbp for about a month, and just noticed this now. I do turn my brightness down quite a bit, but its usually in a well lit classroom and thus its possible I just did not notice this circle that is still barely lit until now.
UPDATE*: I have just discovered that covering the lit apple logo on the screen's exterior (directly opposite the lit circle i suppose) causing the circle to gradually disappear. THe laptop is sitting behind a window (ie light can shine on that apple logo)...what's up with this?
