Hardware :: Logitech Updated LCC And Drivers For Snow Leopard
Sep 23, 2009
I had problems with my wireless mouse after upgrading to SL. This solved all my problems. This update is good for their wireless keyboards also. The snow leopard release date caught logitech by surprise. This works for 64 and 32 bit . This is version 3.1 [URL]

I've been using the Logitech G15 keyboard for a year or so, great keyboard, but after upgrading to snow leopard I've lost the correct command/option/control modifier keys. I've tried adjusting the Modifier Keys in the Keyboard preference pane, and installed the logitech drivers, but the best I could do was to get the left command key to work and the cap locks key work as my option key.
Has anyone had any trouble or luck with this keyboard? Any ideas on how to get this working, I'm lost and it's driving me crazy because I switch back and forth from my MBP keyboard half of the time!

Firstly I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I did have a look at the Snow Leopard FAQ & a browse through the current topics. And secondly, I am also sorry if I am not using appropriate computer language to describe certain things. I have a 17 inch Macbook Pro I bought in the middle of last year. Before Snow Leopard. So when Snow Leopard came along I went for the upgrade without looking around at compatibility issues with certain software.
So after the upgrade, my EyeTV didn't work, and neither did my internet (I use the ones with the USB stick). So I couldn't even go online to get my EyeTV update. So in my (brief) panick I re-installed Leopard, which wasn't a great idea I guess, because all of a sudden my HD space went down to 50GB from my 500GB of storage. Now I know I didn't have the full 500GB since I did have some photos, music & videos on board. But surely 50GB remaining is quite ridiculous. I think it probably performed a Time Machine backup for me.
Anyway... that was awhile ago. And I was happy to carry on with what I had. But now I think I would like to try what Snow Leopard has to offer. But with only 18GB of space remaining, I think the best option might be to reformat and start over. What do you guys think? My other option is to try to delete as much as I can spare to make room for Snow Leopard. Sorry if this question is a silly one, but I have done a lot of things with my iPhone & with this Mac without thinking & asking first & I have always regretted it. Thanks for any help or suggestions you all can offer.

But today, for kicks, I switched the wheel on my VX Revolution to the hyper-fast smooth scrolling, and tried it in Safari in Snow Leopard. Wow! It functions like I thought it should've functioned - the page actually scrolls with the wheel, instead of in indents like the click-click wheel, but without the click (I hope you know what I meant!). I never knew the VX Revolution has the capability to output this kind of detailed feedback from the wheel!
This should work with any Logitech mouse that has the hyper-fast scrolling wheel.

It doesn't work for me. I wonder if Glims is conflicting somehow. A reboot got it working, but it's a bit buggy. Sidebar won't turn off. Contextual searches aren't loading.

We have two email addresses (one for myself and one for my spouse). In one account the e-mails now seem to "appear" twice in that inbox since Snow Leopard. However, when we move the email to another folder, only one moves and the phantom one disappears. This is annoying. Any thoughts of what we might do?

I have an HP 4050TN LaserJet printer that I had networked via ethernet to my iMac (when it was running just leopard) Once I did all the updates for 10.6.8, I found that my printer is nowhere to be seen, I can't add it. Nothing. I found hp printer drivers for Lion, but I'm not going to get Lion, if i just have to turn around and get Mountain Lion in a couple of months anyway .Regarding my Scanner:When I try to use my Cannon CanoScan 8800F MP Navigater justs quits. . . .

I recently updated to snow leopard and now I get blue screen on start-up.
I manage to get to enter my password and then to my desktop for a few seconds before it flicks back to my login.
I tried using disk utility from the install disc and it said HD appears to be ok. But it hasn't solved the problem.

I just installed Snow Leopard successfully, but it doesn't know my HP2600N network laser printer. It's not in the support document and the closest printer, a 2605N is supprted. But HP's site says "HP LaserJet - Software Information for Mac OS X 10.6" and "Obtain Software", but there's nothing there. Any idea of when HP will support the 2600N? (All other upgrades had no problem with the 2600N).

SL has included drivers for HP devices, but the scan features are limited (Preview or Image Capture.) Past versions of the drivers could be set to automatically open Adobe Reader upon scan completion. This no longer seems to be possible. Has anyone found a work around?

I reattached my Epson Perfection 1650 Photo scanner to my Mac G4 (Sawtooth) desktop today after updating the drivers and all to OS 10.4, which is what is on my computer. (The updated drivers also work for 10.5, which is on my laptop, but that doesn't matter here.) When I hit the Smart Panel icon on the desktop, the computer went to Classic mode, for some reason, even though the updated software is for OS X. I was able to get a Twain window, but when I clicked on any of the options for scanning, I get a message saying that the scanner is not recognized (something about a bus). I looked at all the available FAQs at the Epson Web site, but they are not helpful or relevant. For example, one told me to turn off Scan Monitor in Extensions, but of course, there is no Extensions Folder in OS X. One other FAQ suggested reinstalling the software that came with the scanner, but that was way back when I used OS 9.2.2, so how could I then bring it up to 10.4?
Most of the other FAQs were for people with Windows, so of course, those didn't help at all. The Ready light is on; all the cables are plugged in properly. I'm ready, willing, and able. I can't get Epson support, because the scanner is out of warranty, and the Epson online helpers (private) want a good deal of money to provide an answer. Granted, I don't have to pay them unless I am not satisfied with the answer, but I'd rather not have to sell the farm, when I could get a new scanner for only about twice what they are asking to give me an answer. OR (breathlessly hoping) if I can get some ideas here. I have a lot of pages to copy and send to someone, and now I'll have to copy them manually at the local store or across town, at my mother's, and then send them through the mail. It all seemed so straightforward and simple: scan and send to the eager recipient.

After I installed Snow Leopard, I installed all of the printer drivers on the disc. It was a rather hefty size, over 1GB. Is there a way, manually or automatically, to delete all the ones I don't need? I've done a search, and a couple of places (possibly outdated) have pointed me to Library > Printers, and that all the printer drivers should be there. When I do that, I only see the application for my own printer.............

I went a couple weeks ok with the Scanner and Image Capture. And then kaput, it doesn't work. I thought about it some and it seemed to stop working after I did Software Update on March 17th, 2012. In that update was a "Digital Camera Raw 3.1.0" update. Which makes me very suspicious. Here is the error I get when I open Image Capture: So, it recognizes the scanner but can't do anything in Image Capture or the with the scanner buttons. I ran Software Update again, just to see if there was a new updated scanner driver but nothing came up. I really want to avoid using the manufacturer's SW drivers etc.

You can get updated Nvidia Drivers for you Macbook here:
For XP:[URL]
For Vista:[URL]
It has updated 'forceware' and installs without problems. I noticed better performance in games than i was getting with the stock apple drivers. These are for the new late 2008 aluminum Macbooks with the geforce 9400m chipset.

If drivers for your printer do not show up in Snow Leopard, and there is no option for a generic driver (that you can use until original ones arrive), then you might be in luck if you've got your Leopard disc handy. Insert your Leopard disc, and then click on Optional Installs. Then in the next window you might have to click on Optional Installs again. From the new Window, select Printer drivers. Select the appropriate brand, and then install. So really, we're trying to use Leopard drivers here, moved from your Leopard disc onto Snow Leopard. If you're in luck, usable drivers might show up in your System Preferences, or perhaps a generic driver that will work.

Apple this week released new drivers for HP printers in its latest operating system, Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. The file, labeled version 2.2., is a 383MB download available from Apple. A number of HP printers, including Photosmart, OfficeJet, DeskJet and LaserJet models, are affected by the driver update. A complete list with numerous HP printers is listed on Apple's Web site. The update requires Mac OS X 10.6.1 or later.
Since the release of Snow Leopard, Apple has advertised new printer-related features in the operating system upgrade. Apple's Software Update will automatically provide you with third-party printer software and updates, "Nearby Printers" is a list of available printers that will appear right inside your printer dialog box, and you can simply connect a USB printer and the print queue will be automatically created.

I just noticed, that the built-in video-cams on two iMacs (one white 20" and one aluminum 24") do not work.
System Profiler is not detecting a video-cam. I guess, this probably confirms that this is not the GM build. Does anyone have a solution to enabling the video-cams?
