I have just got an extra screen for my macbook pro and I am loving it. The only thing I want to do now is to get the menu bar displayed on both screens. I have them set up on 'extra display' (?) mode rather than mirrored display. So, anyway to clone the menu bar on to my new screen?
View 1 RepliesI wanted to use the Keyboard & Character Viewer, but it just wouldn't get displayed in the menu bar. I went to system preference, and the box Show Keyboard&Character Viewer in the menu bar is chacked, but nothing is actually displayed.

there are claims that a uMB with screen 9CA5 is as good as the MBA, Anyone have both to do a side by side.
The screen was the one reason I went with the MBA.
I've realized that sometimes I "lose" my wireless signal. I am not using an AirPort router (I'm using Linksys, if that's at all helpful). I've noticed that suddenly all of the wireless signals disappear from the AirPort menu up on the menu bar, except the network that I am connected to (i.e., I only see my router's name there). It also becomes impossible for me to browse the internet, so what I've done to troubleshoot this is disable the AirPort, put the computer to sleep, and disconnect/reconnect my router. When I turn it on, it seems to work. I've also tried simply disabling and then re-enabling AirPort, but it doesn't work after that.
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy "services" menu has disappeared as an option in finder. When I try to access it by right-clicking a finder item (folder or file), it's just plain missing. However if I look for it under the finder menu bar, the arrow beside service says 'building'. But I've been waiting for hours and it doesn't look like anything's happening.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought myself a Macbook Pro 13-inch model and I've been loving it so far. One thing that really bugs me is how bad the menu navigation is in OS X. I just read this on Macrumors and the only way to access menu from keyboard is by using ctrl+F2 key for which I have to press ctrl+fn+f2 key since F2 is a secondary function. Also, there is no way of going directly to the middle of the menu by keyboard shortcuts, right? If that is true, Mac OS X is still not polished enough for laptops. is there are a better way to control the menu items?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy safari menu bar is missing. The menu bar for desktop, HD, and apps appears, but when I click on Safari, it disappears, so I can no longer see my buttons for History, etc. I think my husband (pc user) clicked it away when borrowing my computer.

I'm running mail 5.2 on 10.7.3 with imap. I'm having problems with emails not showing up. Or they show up when people send them and then dissapear. They are not being combined in the multiple email from the same user, the new feature of mac mail. They are just not showing up. I can go to my server and see them sitting there. The specific emails today were sent 6 days ago.
Also the folder I created for these emails were not showing up either, even though it was created on the server. This is also after hitting syncronize.
Third, emails from the past for some folders nore not showing up at all. I can go into folders I have with emails from a month to a year ago and they are competely blank even tough I know there are emails in those folders.

I'm running OS X 10.9.2 and iTunes 11.2.2 and out of the blue, my iTunes Playlists are not displaying/ not visible in the left pane under "Playlists". It's as if I have no playlists anymore. If I attempt to create a new playlist, nothing new is visible (i.e. the Playlist pane still appears empty). However, all of my music is still viewable and playable. In fact, if I play a song, I may click on its arrow and add it to any of my 20 or so playlists. So they are all visible from the drop down menu on any song that's playing.
Just now, I attempted to restore an older "iTunes Music library" file (.itl) by trashing the current one and replacing it with one from my previous "iTunes Libraries" folder. I restarted iTunes (holding down the option key), selected the previous version library and still the Playlists will not display.
At the moment I am open minded about Ping, so I might give it a try. But I do have a question.. For those who have activated an account.. Does it display your entire library of music you downloaded? Or does it just display who your favorite artists are and what your favorite songs are? I wasn't sure if you get to choose what or how info is displayed.

View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I first got my macbook 2 months ago I could command+space and open the spotlight dialog box and type say "i" and it would start displaying ical, iweb, you know everything that starts with I. Like it should. Somewhere down the line things got funky. Now I command +space, open the box, type the letter of the application i want or whatever and nothing is displayed in the finder window. However when I move my cursor to the actual magnifying glass in the corner after I typed the search, and click it, it will show the results. Or if I type what I want to find and then command space again it will show it. So what did I do wrong? I want it back the way it way) Just having to command + space twice, once to open the search box and then one more time after i enter the search string, is getting annoying. Or having to click on the magnifying glass after entering the search.

A downloaded PDFdocument displays boilerplate text and images for the emanating company but the specifically requested content is (seemingly) missing (i.e. not visible/displayed).
However, if the same document is opened in a browser (Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25.1)) then all of the expected content is displayed.
Interestingly, on invoking Print within Preview, the print preview thumbnail image shows the missing content.
Furthermore, a QuickView of the document within Finder does show the missing content.

I run Microsoft OneNote side by side with some mac Apps and often find my self switching between the apps using Leopard spaces on my MBA which is annoying. I want to be able set an external LCD and assign that solely to OneNote, and simultaneously be able to access my OSX apps on my MBA's LCD. So each OS platform has its own window.

I am having a problem with the stack feature on Snow Leopard. For some reason most of the icons inside of my stacks are just displayed as a grey box with a dotted white line around it. As far as I can tell this only affects grid and fan mode.
Sometimes when I wait for some time (30 secs and more) or open and close the stack a couple of times the icons will eventually display correctly. I have already tried resetting the Pram and rebooting, as well as deleting the stacks and readding them.
I've just switched from an iBook to a MB. My iBook always displayed 4 bars of wifi here at home (my wireless router is in the same room). But my MacBook often displays only 3 bars in the same room. What could be causing this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been looking for a solution to have more than just the one Dock: I'd like to have one on each monitor with different applications contained in each. I've discovered Dock Spaces which allows you to have upto 10 different Docks. More importantly, it integrates with Spaces to allow you to have a different Dock in each Space. This is the first time I've had a Mac with two monitors connected, and I've never used Spaces before so please bear with me. Would I be able to have Space 1 displayed on the first monitor and Space 2 on the second monitor? If that's possible, I could then use Dock Spaces to have a Dock on each monitor, yes?

I've always used istat menus to monitor my computer usage i.e. RAM, CPU, Fans, power, etc. With my old 2008 Mac Pro istat used to display how much power it was using however with my 2009 Mac Pro it doesn't. It displays 0 Watts throughout. Any ideas on how to solve this. I'm really curious with regard to how much power this system uses.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've managed somehow to change the displayed bitrate of songs I've purchased off the iTS, simply by removing the contact details with a hex editor, and it's really bugging me that there doesn't seem to be any way to change it back!
Normally, iTS purchases appear as 256kbps, which is the standard I use (I don't have VBR checked for iTunes plus, as it appears '256kbps (VBR)' whilst songs purchased from iTunes do not, and I like 100% consistency in appearance) - however, now I am getting the true bitrate on songs I've purchased and altered, such as 264kbps, or 281kbps, anywhere from 256kbps to 290kbps.
How can I change the appearance of these files so iTunes displays them as 256kbps again? I've tried AtomicParsley, but it doesn't seem to have a bitrate option, and I definitely do not want to burn them to CD and rip them back!
I know this will sound like an incredibly anal request, but as I said, I like 100% consistency!
I just opened iPhoto and found that when I click on an "Album" (menu to the left), it just opens up with full size images. It used to display thumbnails and I'd need to click on the image to open it into full size. Is there some option that I inadvertently adjusted to cause this change?

I have tested it with the firefox but their is still the same problem. With my IBook with 10.4 it works fine. I think it is a problem with the java script settings for the whole system but I don't know where I can change these settings.
